Public Storage Self-Storage Units at 8437 SW Barbur Blvd, Portland, OR

They are really attentive and helpful. Recently I had an urgent issue, because i had misplaced my key and they had a thorough process for checking my identity to have the lock replaced and expedited the effort since I was only in town for the weekend. I really appreciate their help.

It's clean, and that's about all the good things I can say about it. We stored here for three months during our move. During that time, we had multiple access issues and were given a unit with a broken latch. Every time we called we were unable to get any assistance on the ground. Just call center employees with no idea how to actually help beyond putting in maintenance requests that don't help us in the moment. Employees on the phone ranged from mildly understanding to incredibly rude.

I had a number of units here for a couple of years. Always clean and no security issues. Manager is really helpful

Unable ro contact anyone but the person on duty, the same person that overcharged me then was rude about it. This place is absolutely crooked just look at the BBB reviews. Check your bank account statements monthly they are shady

One year turned into 5 years, and even though we were living out of the country the whole time, we always felt confident that our belongings were safe. We have just emptied it and are ready to move on. Special thanks to Will, the staff member who was super helpful and very kind. Our only concern was the way the rates went up exponentially. It got to be very expensive.

Would recommend you store anywhere but here. They raised our rates several times in a short span, so in total it was an obscene increase. Mediocre units and location (old elevators, no handcarts, rickety doors) definitely not worth the price. Poor customer service. Property manager assumed that we had vacated the unit and closed our account without actually getting confirmation that we were done.

Came back to rent for the summer break. This place is clean & secure & Tess was great to work with!!

This place is great!!!! Getting into the unit was a breeze, everything was set up and ready to go. The staff is very friendly and accommodating, Tess in particular made the experience absolutely wonderful.

Will is the manager, and the only person on the staff who answers phone calls and gives advice. He has even come to check out my present storage unit and show some others. Very pleasant and a credit to Public Storage in Portland.

We have been at this property for a few years. Thank goodness they hired William! He is the ONLY representative that has responded to phone calls and been helpful always. Keep up the great work Will!

DON'T USE! These guys will lurer you in with initial bargains and then they will raise the rent every year! This April they will be "Adjusting (their) pricing..." by jacking up my rent $20.00. It's gone from $38 to $78 in two and a half years! They figure once you've put your stuff there, they've got you. There's a reason they only have at most 3 stars for their locations on Yelp: 1. Everything is automated from customer service, taking your money, accessing your unit. So, they have very little overhead. 2. There is Never any human there to provide answers or assistance. 3. You can rarely find a cart without walking around the entire facility (and even then you may not). 4. Expect a rent increase Every Year, and not just a few dollars! It's ludicrous! I'll be moving out this April.

!!BEWARE!! Terrible place to store anything you value. No security. My unit got broken into recently. I requested pictures to determine what was taken and reuested access for a family member since I am out of state. Three times they have promised they will assist me. It's been months now and I've received nothing. My only choice now is to fly back to visit the site and hire a lawyer. Pathetic it has to come to this.

It took a while to get checked in and fill out all the paperwork. But Barbara was very helpful and offered excellent customer service!

Such a frustrating waste of time! Came in a few months ago to rent a small storage space signed up for the “ Pay One Dollar 1st month promotion” we were told it will be around 35-40 2nd month and going forward however that was definitely not the case 2nd month we were asked to pay around 75 which we paid reluctantly then 3rd month we were asked to pay 89 and that is when I lost it! Called C.S they advised us that we were never put on a promotion and our rate selected by the previous property manager was 54 per month! Mind you this was for the smallest 5x5 unit! What Erk’s me the most is this was my senior mothers unit crazy how they must take advantage of other seniors as well. I called back and one more time trying to find a solution and I was told that they were going to escalate our situation ,even the rep on the phone call admitted that he felt something was not right and he could not believe why we were not given the promo to begin with. However we never got a call from upper management or anyone. We still have no resolution it’s been over 3 months . Do yourself a favor Avoid this location at all cost lots don’t fall for the fake reviews. It seems like it’s only a good deal if you get in/out within first month anything longer is how they completely screw you over. We will not pay them and will take this as far up as it needs to go. Such a frustrating waste of time! They just lost a life long customer.

I recently "tried" to book an appointment with the property manager at 8437 SW Barbur Blvd. In Portland,Oregon. My initial appointment was on September 21, 2023 but was unable to make that appointment. I called back and set the apptmont for the same time (3:30pm) for the folling day. I showed up but the PM didn't. Didn't call back either after I left several messages. They say "your business is important to us". Obviously not. Terrible customer service and even worse customer service from the PM. Attention: PM you only have to work from 1-6pm it would have been nice if you returned my ca. Maybe Property management isn't your strongest skill. Jeff Glowacki

I had an appointment for a unit. I showed up and the door is locked. Nobody’s in the office. It’s 3:15pm and it’s 44 degrees outside. I’ve been waiting for 30 minutes. Wish I could speak about the service but there is none.

Worst place on earth the management is super authoritarian and has no love for people in hard situations

I chose this location for location and appeared to be very secure with the entry and exit gates requiring a code to access and log entries. I had a large exterior unit storing all my contents for about 15 months. The place went downhill as the grounds were never cleaned with a leaf blower or a human walking around to pick up for a year. Leaves, cobwebs and trash built up making it nasty when accessing unit with wind blowing debris inside my contents. Fall of 22 they finally cleaned and painted I believe with new management taking over. Unfortunately, soon after my unit and I believe other were broken into. I incurred several thousand $$$ loss. Police report was filed. The revolving management thereafter never answered their phones, returned calls and refused to assist me with information in their supposed investigation after reviewing of their videos or access logs. My insurance company advised to move my contents which I did recently. Upon vacating, we noticed the roof had insulation holes and debris was on the ground. I noticed contents had moisture while unpacking. Clearly this place has the worst maintenance and security and just interested in collecting your monthly rent. ADVICE! FIND ANOTHER STORAGE COMPANY THAT IS REPUTABLE.

I have had a unit there for two years now. super nice people work in the office. they are so easy to work with.

The only thing decent about this place is it's clean. They have THE worst customer service ever. Won't return calls. Not on sight. Worse, many of us today can't get to our storage units...because the elevator is not working!!! At the end of this month, going elsewhere.

Don't use, they violated every agreement I made with them. They raised my rates, didn't tell me in a format that we agreed on. I have a phone and they emailed me. The agreement was to only use email as a place for receipt and not anything important They raised their rates via email and didn't notify me via phone that they are doing anything at all. now they are trying to sell my debt to some company in India. Which is quite suspicious by itself, but in addition to their suspicious underhanded business tactics they are trying to either get people to forget to pay or they want to raise the rates without notification. $30 to $50 which means it tried to overdraw my account when it has $30. The owners also accept stolen property. This is the worst storage, use any other one before if you can. They are THIEVES. Only Randy was good and now she's gone

The only reason I have enjoyed using Public Storage on Barbur as much as I have is due to their rockstar employee Randi. She makes dealing with moving your things and finding the right unit easy. I needed her help recently and she brightened my whole day and saved me money. Win win!

The facility is clean, spacious and conveniently located. Randy the manager at the facility was extremely helpful and knowledgeable. She went out of her way to show us around and give us helpful tips on storing our belongings. I highly recommend this Public Storage location.

In Out Gates Worked

Around a year ago I needed to find some storage space pretty quickly and after trying to connect with a couple other businesses (who didn't even call me back) I connected with Randy at this Public Storage location. She was fast to respond and made the entire process so easy for me. Fast forward to almost a year later where I was ready to move out; Randy made the process so easy and even helped to make sure I could move out in time to not pay for an extra month. Long story short Randy is the person you need to work with if you ever have any storage needs, she was awesome 🎊🎉🎊
