Public Storage Self-Storage Units at 786 Kinnear Road, Columbus, OH

DO NOT STORE HERE. I signed a lease for 123$ a month in December 2023 and by December 2024 my rent was 249$ a month for a 10x10. No additions or anything was done to improve the property and there's often homeless people sleeping there which did not make me feel secure for my items. The app didn't work for me to make payments or let me in the gate 90% of the time I was there, there's never anyone on property to help you if you can't get the gate to work or help you with anything. When I finally got sick of the app not working and started going in to pay the person at the desk gave me major attitude over it. It's just simply not worth storing here. There's now cars and vans parked along a fence making it hard to leave through that side. They can't even keep their information straight, when I turned in my keys, the lady didn't know that the lock was actually mine (learned later by a manager trying to collect money from me) and clearly had no idea what to do when a tennet vacated.

Public storage doesn’t allow prorated rents. I either have to pay full month rent or get my account sent to collections for moving out on the 3rd of the month. The location management is great tho. This has nothing to do with them. This is an in general review of public storage as a company.

Wonderful experience at this location. The property manager is always willing to help. He’s just really pleasant to deal with!

In the process of moving out of town but needed a unit for a few weeks. They made me feel really comfortable with leaving my belongings here. They went above and beyond what I could have asked for. Paul was quick to get my questions answered. I'd definitely recommend them.

I rented a unit 3 months ago for the first time. This has been the best decision ever!! Amy has went above and beyond with her customer service and kindness. You feel comfortable and safe, you just know your belongings are secure. She keeps the property well lit and maintained. Always available quickly and returned calls within minutes. Highly recommend 10 stars!!!!!!!!

Don’t leave your stuff in this storage you can pay and they will put lock on your storage before It’s due I lost my whole storage I came had a lock on I paid and they did second time I believe storage for short term purpose lesson learned but lost some sentimental belongings that belonged to my family that past away this place horrible

will absolutely gouge you on rent every 2 months with increases. so many increases I might take out another mortgage instead

I get whipped around with pricing but the actual facilities are great. Edit feb 2023: I have rented two units here. Both times the prices got jacked up after about 6 months. It sure feels like they wait long enough for you to move your stuff in so it would be inconvenient to take it out and then they raise your rent. Awfully predatory. Other than this the experience has been great but this predatory practice really leaves a sour taste in my mouth.

We have rented storage units at the Kinnear Rd Public Storage twice and have had nothing but good experiences. Billi went out of her way to save me money on a unit and help me at the end of a work day when I was having the typical snafus that come up when moving. She made my experience with Public Storage easy to navigate, and she was very welcoming. Highly recommend Public Storage on Kinnear Rd to anyone looking for a storage unit!

I’d give zero stars if I could. Don’t get me wrong the two people at the actual location were great to work with and super kind. However, they bumped our rent from $296 to $414 without telling us. I called and asked what the deal was and they said it was a mistake and changed it back. But they wouldn’t give our money back that they overcharged for 3/4 months. I usually don’t complain but that’s a decent amount of money.

this place well sell your things very fast if your a couple of months late..we tryed to pay on the last day before the sell and they would not let us

Michael got me set up just fine and was professional. I had a unit that I paid around 86 or 87 bucks for each month then I get a notice that my rent is being raised to 122 each month so needless to say I moved and found a better rate. The day I went there was a car with 2 men and 1 woman and the man was just coming out of the office area and got in the back seat then that car waiting for me to enter my code to exit and the car behind me put in their code to exit and then they came in on someone else's code. I called the lady who was working that night and told her and she said "yeah I seen that, I am about to call my manager right now". I thought to myself why wouldn't you call the police , so I don't know what their guidelines are for that situation but It seemed all too fishy for my liking. I like that it has lights in the hallways with a timer also.

Billi in the office was friendly and helpful and thorough. I had reserved a unit via the website and she was there to check me in. She was efficient and pleasant to work with. 2/15/22 Amendment: though I stand my my original review of the customer service I received, I’m afraid I’m not a fan of the organization itself. Prices went up and up during my couple of years renting the same small space, reaching over $108 by the end. Perhaps this inflation was industry-wide, perhaps just this company. I would suggest a wide survey of storage company practices to determine whose prices remain stable and whose go up repeatedly. Make an informed decision.
