This Public Storage in the Canarsie neighborhood of Brooklyn is located near Route 27, more commonly known as Linden Blvd, and the Belt Parkway along New York City's Jamaica Bay. It's also within two blocks of Canarsie-Rockaway Parkway Station of the BMT and the L train, so catching public transit here is a snap.
Offering more than 1,600 units in a variety of sizes, and featuring both indoor and outdoor, drive-up options, this self storage location in Brooklyn is perfect for everyone from students and young professionals to families. I Have a few issues one the gate an the code stuff is to much to do when your on a time frame ... one the gate for the location should stay open until closing then when the location closes the customer should have access with the codes after the staff is gone ... your codes access should let you know who if anything was to Violate the rules you would know bases off the access code

Wish I could rate it 0. Called for a quote and got pressured into setting a move in date. The person on the phone made it seem like I just needed to lock in the quote price and told me availability was only at a location across Brooklyn. I picked a later date. As days go by I realize I’m not going to move my things there bc it’s so far and the person on the line tells me that though I didn’t need to come in to “move in” aka start the service, I needed to come in in order to cancel the service. Again, this place is completely out of my typical commute. Eventually a few weeks later, I speak to another rep who tells me I’m scheduled for auction. Mind you i never moved in (I never even came into the location). After I express to her i have nothing to auction bc i never came in to move in, she says she can cancel my space over the phone but I’ll still have the balance and it will go to collections LMAO. Honestly I’m aware of how some businesses thrive off bad business practices like this bc their services aren’t solid enough to ensure customer loyalty but wow, I didn’t expect such service from Public Storage.

The only reason I’m rating 5 stars is because Devon went above and beyond to get me into my storage unit. After inquiring days before vacating about the process I was told the day of that there is an extra day of processing in which I wasn’t going to be able to do because I was moving the same day I got my things out. initially I was told as long as I take pictures of the empty unit it would be fine. I got there believing I could get my items at any time and was told at 7:03 that they wouldn’t let me in. After pleading with the supervisor he would not budge. I explained that I just wanted to get my stuff out we would be quick because I’m moving to another state now and this man had no compassion whatsoever. If this was any other situation where I could come back the next day it wouldn’t be such a big deal. However, I explained myself and I was desperate at that point. I had a full out panic attack because I was literally driving down that same night and needed my things. Devon was compassionate and sympathetic offering his help in any way possible. He stayed behind to assist us and went above and beyond. Devon I don’t know where life will take you but it’s people like you that makes the world so much better. I wish you nothing but blessings and success that no one can ever take from you. You don’t know how your kindness changed me. I hope that you will continue to be a blessing to others and your reward will be even greater. I can’t thank you enough for just understanding and being a great human being.

I've seen a lot of reviews mentioning their space got sold and they're in shock, we are adults and as adults should be responsible of paying bills, if you don't pay of course a company is going to take action, it's like in every company. There is no excuse to not pay your bills.

an incident happen with my family forcing me to leave the country, long story short , got back to make payment they’re telling me my space was sold without notifying me via email,phone call, or notice by mail to my physical address, on record I will not leave this. They did not notify me properly. with all my kids sensitive document I would never recommend public storage to anyone my daughter used to work there as property manager and she left because the company do horrible things to people and she was very right about that look what they do me so stupid. I still rent from them.SMH

BEAWARE that the price you pay in the first move in can and WILL CHANGE when every they fee like it
I placed my stuff in storage 4/15 which I had a deal for 20% off the the first 3 months
On 5/1 I went to pay the storage which I was told my deal wasn’t valid they claimed it was only for 1 month so I had to pay the normal rate without the deal price ok fine
6/1 I paid the regular price
Now today 7/1 I get a Email saying they are RASING the price by $50 starting August when I called to ask why I was told by staff they RAISE THE PRICE every 6 months….ok so the math ain’t mathing 6 months would be from April to October rite so staff gives me the number to corporate
CORPORATE tells me it doesn’t matter a time frame they can RASIE THE PRICE when ever they feel like it
The reason being storage is in high demand so even though I originally was supposed to pay 200$ a month they raised it $50 because the price for the unit went up (meaning someone moving their stuff would pay $280) so my storage was raised
VERY UNFAIR AND SHADY BUSINESS PRACTICE
If my rent is 200$ and someone moved in across the hall paying $250 why is MY RENT going up after 3 months BE AWARE PEOPLE THEY SCAMMING
And they have RATS I seen droppings in my unit I have NO FOOD in there at all only clothes toys and bed frames when I told staff I was given 2 poison packets that’s all they seemed very unfazed cuz they already know about the rats
BE MINDFUL WHERE YOU PUT YOUR BELONGINGS AND THE PRICE INCREASE WHEN EVER THEY “feel like it”

The staff at Rockaway Ave location in Brooklyn is amazing. They're truly honest, pleasant professionals working there. eg; The other day I had no idea where I letf my phone, my husband called it when a staff kindly answer and let him know that the phone was left in the restroom. To be honest here, how many people would have secure that phone and give it back? I gave them 5 stars because overall, I have no issues or complaints about this facility.

What an outstanding experience by Anniall & Donovan… I had to make a last minute reservation for a large storage unit and Anniall walked me through every step of the way… Even assisting me to complete the rental agreement through my phone.. for some reason I little to no reception and went outside to complete the documents… Anniall waited with me outside despite the cold temperature and showed me how to access the gate.. Such a gem and stellar customer service…The manager Donovan was also very attentive and helpful assisting us… truly grateful and highly recommend this location!

I wish there was a 0 stars option. This is the worst storage facility I have ever stored with. The staff were unhelpful and rude. Me and my mom were stuck in an elevator for an hour waiting to be helped by staff only to find out the elevator phone didn't work an they were fully aware it needed to bed fixed. We also waited an hour to get my drivers license back from the front desk, when a worker clearly saw us and was ignoring us. The property manager is unresponsive so if you want to get answers don't expect any. They also falsely charged us for a unit we never used or look at. DO NOT STORE HERE. Your life will be a living hell.

OMG!!There are rude ladies that work there. Very unprofessional at this location. But thanks to the ALMIGHTY above I went to PRIME Storage down the block. Easy going and the workers at PRIME STORAGE was very kind and PLEASANT.
There is no light in my space so it's quite an inconvenience to me when the automated lights in the hallway doesn't work. I understand that it's a space that has many different individuals items but the rodent problem is atrocious. With all the money that is being paid I expected better coverage for my items. Now I have to consider the disposal of some items.
