I had intended to rent a second 10’ x 30’ unit this month in order to transfer my belongings and save money in the long run. Instead I was instructed to transfer my storage unit at no additional cost. I met with Kayla this morning to select the new unit number. She was helpful, polite, clear and concise. The entire process took 5 minutes. Throughout the day, she checked on me and my progress (I’m 70 years old undertaking this huge project). I couldn’t be more pleased that my rent has dropped from $589 to $215 a month. Since I vacated my old unit on the 8th, the monthly rent will be prorated. The new rent ($215) will also be prorated. Kayla explained I will have a positive balance at the end of November which will be applied to December. She expects my surplus will cover next month’s rent entirely. The entire staff at this location is so helpful. They look out for their client base.
This business is shady!!! My rent keeps increasing…$50+ about every six months!!!! Without notice! The app is useless! The storage facility on Selmi…there is rarely any manager on property to speak with…the gate stays open overnight often bc of some glitch. They also over charged me $300 a while back bc I had three units and combined to one, gave them plenty of notice and was out a few days early! But bc the manager hadn’t processed paperwork or whatever I had to pay an extra month on the two units I vacated! If they weren’t literally across the street from me, I would have already moved to a different storage business. DONT WASTE UR TIME RENTING WITH PUBLIC STORAGE! THEY ARE COMPLETE RIPOFFS!!!!
Very easy to work with, thank you for all your help!
Kystan and Mari were a great and answered all my questions.
Haley at public storage goes out of her way to help and also throughly informed about public storage’s policies and made my move in easy and enjoyable and I would give her 10 stars if I could!
Haleigh at public storage goes above and beyond for her customers. She is always willing to help and gives 5 star service every time!
I did the self check in and it was easy and problem free. Space was clean. Facility was clean. Opening the gate through the app was easy. The only issue I would have is being informed if the storage was on a hill. Difficult to load and unload boxes and items.
Didn’t need it after all and they refused a refund
Nay is the property manager, my experience with her has been nothing but outstanding. She was prompt to take care of me and my situation finding a good size for our belongings! Living in these times right now is tough, she made it easier for me and I truly needed her professional support behind it. She is rated 5 stars for us!
I was asked if there was anything that they could do to make my move in better I said you have done more than I could ever imagine thank you.
The rental agent was very helpful and courteous.
I've reached out to Public Storage multiple times regarding people living out of their units. I left a message via phone and finally spoke to somebody after almost a month. Customer service is something they don't excel in. They told me the issue had been resolved and also mentioned that if I see the people there again, ask them to leave. Maybe hire security? After thinking the issue was resolved, I went to my unit the same day to check on my belongings and one of the "residents" was looking into my unit while it was open. I left, came back 2 hours later, and he was still there. I'm thankful that I have insurance on my unit. Fix this. This is unacceptable.
*Photos attached are from both times I went to the location*
I have had the best experience with Kristyn the manager at Public Storage!! She helped me navigate through going through a transition of banks that left my autopay in shambles! Great customer service and personality!!
Public storage raises rent after move-in to above market price. I paid $215/month for 10x10 (NO climate control). There was so much dust and dirt in unit from outside. It was impossible to keep clean. It will destroy your furniture. I moved to brand new 10x10 with climate control for $149/month. Also, there is no manager and no open bathroom on site. Customer Service never responded to my concerns about outrageous rent increases. Avoid this company. Also, the unit was filthy when I rented it. It took me an hour to clean it before I could move in. The walls and floor were covered in dust and dirt.
Over the last 1 1/2 years our storage unit has gone up in price ever quarter. the original price was $225 a month. Our rent was raised incrementally to $380month. I thought maybe this was inflation but you can top and rent the same unit today for $225 today if you are new customer. Probably with a move in discount as well. Of course when you call you only get call centers that dont even seem to be part of this company.
When I complained to the call center they said they would submit the request to the company and PS would get back to me. They never called or emailed me with the change in pricing. I just noticed my next bill went to $340. To be clear that is still $120 over the current advertised price.
It's an interesting policy to charge your long time customers more than new. Whatever there are cheaper and bigger units available all around Reno. Avoid this company at all costs.
I've rented many storage units in different states from public storage over the years. The changes to not having people at the properties and not being able to contact someone directly have gone too extreme. Zero customer service. Even the old office says "Talk to a person inside" and you go in and its a giant iPad like kiosk.
On a side not the units are incredibly dirty due to the way the roof is open 1/3 from the back for ventilation. so much dirt inside. And the whole things on a slope that makes it hard to park and load and unload trailers.
Avoid at all costs!
I had 2 storage units there for over 2 years. When I started to go thru the boxes because I didn't remember what was where They told me I was spending to much time on the property if I wanted to go thru the boxes to take them off property and bring them back when I was done So I took them off property and got a place 125/mth cheaper
and bring them back when I was do and brin
Decent enough place. The road is very off center though. Almost tipped a truck.
So easy to use through the app, I love that I can control access from my phone. I also appreciate how diligent the managers are here, and that they're accessable if I have problems with anything. I give them 5 stars!!!
I recently had the misfortune of interacting with Adriana, the property manager. I must say, it was one of the worst experiences I have had with customer service. Adriana was incredibly rude and unprofessional in her demeanor and her actions. Her lack of empathy and concern for the customer's needs was astonishing.
Throughout my interaction with Adriana, she was not at all helpful and seemed more interested in being dismissive and cutting the conversation short. She showed no effort to resolve the issue or provide any sort of assistance. Her attitude was condescending and made me feel like she was doing me a favor by simply speaking to me.
In conclusion, I would not recommend Adriana as a property manager to anyone. Her behavior is unacceptable and her lack of professionalism is a disservice to Public Storage. I hope that the company takes necessary action to ensure that their customers are not subjected to similar experiences in the future.
Paid for storage and it took 2 days to get ahold of anyone
Okay the dollar special that they have for the storage spaces is actually not a dollar mine came out to $52 they throw in a surprise lock for 1999 and you can return it but they'll charge you first they won't let you know they're going to charge you though and then you can take it back to the office and debit it back to your account is what I was told and there is a surprise $30 fee so my dollar special was $52 for 2 weeks that was my dollar deal
Don't store a motorcycle there, the manager is trash. Won't even let you put cosmetic mods on it because of "fire hazard"
Adrianna, the manager, was so very helpful to us while we had 5 units. She is the best! Big thanks to her.
If I could give one star I would. If you want a place that trying to rip you off, ran by a horrible manager, and does false advertising. This place is perfect for you. Rented out a space and they told me my monthly rent would not go up. Next thing you know 2 months down the road they increase it about 40 dollars. Soon I try to move out and they wanted me to pay for the next month as well that I wouldn't be there. Tried to call corporate and was on hold for 15min just to get hung up on. The Public storage off McCaren is much more friendly. If you want to store your stuff go there. This place is ran terribly.
Mice ate my mattress !!! Was full of dirt that was blown in . complained and they said call your insurance company
Great support from Adrianna and great location
They were very accommodating and professional I would recommend them.
Great service! The manager was very nice!
This Facility has got to be in the Guinness book of world records for the most polite, enthusiastic and friendly staff.
I first came to This location roughly 6 months ago, was impressed and decided to obtain a unit, which by the way was so simple and smooth to do, and in this time have been taken care of like I was family. I forgot to lock my unit one day leaving, and I received a phone call just minutes later. Roger, The facility Manager, had informed me of this and also put a lock on it until I returned. WOW! is all I have to say. I also had forgotten a small item or two outside once finished, my keys from another ring, and all returned upon my next visit to my unit.
The facility has 24 hour monitoring, and when my Gate code some how was breached, they changed my code and informed me. I was handed a new Gate code and a potential disaster was diverted.
All in All, Out of many years having to use a storage facility and going through hell with most, Public Storage on Selmi Drive in Reno Nevada has got to be the most pleasant experience I have ever had the pleasure to experience. So if you are looking for a very professional and well mannered facility, which is also the cleanliest I have ever seen, then your search is over and welcome to the worlds best location to trust your belongings for the best prices in town!
To the staff of Public Storage on Selmi Drive, My hats off to you all, and thank you for all you do for its tenants and facility.
BEWARE: Prices change without notice. My rent increased without an email or phone call, sometimes by up to $40 a month, and when confronted about this they told me the prices change per DAY! I don't see how that makes sense since I'm charged monthly, but just sounded like an excuse to charge you extra money. They also had a unit identical to mine listed on their website as available and costing less money than what I was being charged. Public Storage is a scam.
When I got to this location to rent a unit today, there was nobody at the office. I called and left a message, when they returned my call I was told they sometimes have to do banking or check the units. I rented and needed a lock. They said come back before 6 and they would take off their lock. At 5:40, no one is here again, so I have to wait until tomorrow to get in. Extremely inconvienant and annoying, wasting my time and gas because no one here. These units are not cheap so you would think there would be an employee here to help during business hours.
I've had this storage for awhile and just recently moved out my stuff. The prices started to rise more and more. Overall good place. Has an app so you can just press a button on your phone and the gate opens. Very convenient.
Lacy was the best. Very professional and helpful. Wonderful job 👏 🙌
Lacey was amazing. Customer Service was quick, fast and friendly. Makes the stress of moving less stressful. Need more like her.
Very clean and is easy to get to from freeway. Not to mention very friendly too!
Lacey is great thank you so much
