I was late for my appointment to purchase a unit I bought at auction today! Kelly she was amazing and very accomodating given i was 30 min late . She walked me back to the unit made sure I had all the paperwork signed and was able to get into the unit. She has great customer service skills and that is hard to find nowadays.

The new manager Kelly is doing an amazing job, the trash container area is clean, the driventhru garage has been cleaned of all the dust on the floor and the trash off all the property, she is coming a long ways with it in such a short time Im very impressed on how much better the place is looking. Do not rent here ! They are a $1 a month for a reason. The location is not safe nor secure . They provided us with a broken key and lock and never was in office to exchange it. Leaving our things unsecured we called multiple times for a week with no call back and no one is ever in office to help you . Our belongings were stolen but the odd part was we came to our unit to put our own lock on it from negligence our public storage clients we were met with a mysterious blue lock. no warning no heads up and still no answer on the phone . We finally called corporate to set up an appointment for the lock to be taken off and we had to wait 3 more days only to get back into our unit and find things stolen. The lady Kelly said she opened our unit on a Friday but it was locked on Wednesday . We suspect foul play here because the employees are refusing to release camera footage . Also insurance won’t pay you unless it’s forced entry and they gave us a unit that doesn’t sit in front of cameras but they would still be able to see people leaving the building with our stuff. GO TO UHAUL

I am disgusted and have had it with Public Storage! There is never anyone in the office to help me. It's nasty dirty and vagrants living in the hallway. It's the most unsafe place to be and there are broken doors and so much trash that I had to drive through it. The gates are always broken and now that Diane is not there it's horrible. At least she went out of her way to keep the homeless from living in a storage company. If anyone dies in a fire, Public Storage will be solely responsible. Please get help you can keep. I'll be moving out in a few months.

I hated this 74th St location. It's been filthy dirty for years and the people that hang out there all different hours, are very intimidating to an older woman.
Now, since Diane had been here she had it looking very inviting and clean. She also keeps the homeless people out of the building.

It is a great location and very clean. Diana, the manager, is the best. She is easy to get a hold of, replies quickly, handles issues, and is very helpful. The advertised specials are good prices, but if you need another unit the prices are high and all over the place. Also after a few months, they raise your rent. Short term storage with them is the best.
No one answers the phone, Left many voicemails, do not get this storage they require that you purchase their lock but someone there goes in and steals everything inside. I have complained but no one does anything. Many homeless people, many people seem to live there and many people outside with their pets roaming around especially in the weekends. no where to park your car as well. not safe. Items been stolen for less than a year.
Made a reservation online and paid over $100 to lock in the unit. Showed up to get into unit with truck full and could not get passed the gate. Tried to call local number, national number to cancel the reservation with no luck. Finally got connect in a virtual chat on their website to be basically told it’s my fault and that they will not give me a full refund.
So, if you make a reservation and need to cancel for any reason do know you will not be refunded. If you need to speak to anyone, at any time to help you, good luck.

Diane has been very helpful and responsive to my requests for assistance and got me a new unit when I needed to move.
I had bought a storage unit, clean out what I could the first day, I had 3 days to clean out, went back the next day and couldn't get back in the gate. I have called a numerous times and haven't had a call back. Been there numerous times also. Not good customer service at all and doesn't deserve a star at all. Also I didn't get my deposit back.
There was a vagrant/homeless person inside the storage hallway area, sitting in the alleyway with a can of lighter fluid and lots of cloths. He was talking to himself and appeared disoriented.
There are doors to the outside that are not closing and the gate in the front entrance is broken and cars and people can just get in. What is the point of having a storage facility that isn't safe, allows loitering and has broken gates/doors?
I did call the call center and I hope this information was relayed. If anyone sees vagrants or people living in the storage units, please call management ASAP. This is not safe environment and a true violation of OSHA standards for employees who work there.
Diane, on 74th Street, is the best!! She has great customer service! She made sure I got the unit I needed. Even though it took a couple days of searching and moving things around, she got me a very hard to find size storage unit I was looking to rent. Thanks Diane 😁
First whoever the night lady was came out to the parking lot and told my buddy who was waiting outside the gate while I grabbed some stuff that they were closed and it was only 830 seconds they told me my agreement would be cancelled if I stayed at my unit which I pay for during open hours for more time then she thought was allotted. I should be aloud to go threw my stuff whenever I want for however long during day hours I work nights so it's really the only time I got to be there and lastly there a note that says not for PUBLIC uses on the dumpster, I put a broken mattress out there and was threatened a 500 fine because I'm not suppose to use the trash ,so what exactly do I pay for a unit if I can't throw stuff in the garbage. They try intimidating by saying I'll get my agreement cancelled when in the contract it says nothing about the time frame I can be there and nothing about the dumpster I figured I'm not public cause I rent a unit but nope I was wrong they have threatened me 3 time to get kicked out because of these things so be aware of your belongings and keep them safe because these guys are shifty
I am an online buyer of units at auction and it is my second unit and there is never anyone in the office to access the unit and I try to call the manager and customer service and it is worse no one does anything there is never anyone in the office and it is a pain to keep calling and calling for them to do nothing and the worst thing is that the units I buy have a time limit to clean
What the hell is going on with this place?! The gates are left open (presumably broken), garbage and trash everywhere, broken doors, and no attendant on site! There was a truck fire in the parking lot a year ago and there is still fire debris in the parking lot. Lock Box storage was great, then public storage bought about two years ago and everything has gone down hill. This one location must bring in tens of thousands of dollars per month but they won’t fix or clean anything. Literally garbage everywhere. I stopped by today for the first time in about six months and was shocked! Fix this problem now.
I am not one to leave such low ratings in reviews. However, after working with this company for months and zero assistance, I am leaving an honest review my experience.
The location itself is inconvenient with zero guidance, essentially driving around and hoping to locate it. It’s impossible to reach the front desk by phone, fingers crossed anyone is there if you need to speak to someone in person. The units are much smaller in person, be sure to tour them beforehand. Some customers do not have common courtesy and block the doors to your unit, therefore you’re unable to get in or park your car without dinging your doors trying to squeeze in.
I know the storage unit industry is pretty lack as it is in customer service and experiences. I’m more so shocked that no one is available to communicate with. I would rent elsewhere if you’re able to.
Amazing service!! It’s also climate controlled, easy payments online or through phone, and regular check ups for each storage unit.
Not even a one star… When I first moved in they said everything was ready but I never received a locked. I’ve called countless times at and left messages I never heard back it’s been a month now and I still can’t get a hold of anyone at this location. That’s ridiculous and there is never a property manger on site!

Don't rent from these crooks. I was supposed to move in but the moving truck broke down and so I had to store elsewhere. When I called to cancel they had already "Set me up" with my first free month so I had to pay $42 in "processing". I chalked that up to experience to never "pre-rent" someplace, but now after talking to two different people to cancel and request a refund...My account has been billed on "auto-renew" for a unit I've cancelled twice and never even seen. I'll be calling tomorrow to the location and to my credit card to dispute the charge, but these guys are nothing but guys going for your wallet.

Nice storage areas, but went downhill when Public Storage took over. Prices increased, services decreased. There are no longer carts available. Says they are available during office hours, but unsure when office hours are. Web says 0600-2100, but that is access hours. Carts need to be available at all times, find a system that works (are they really pilferable?) Also, no bathroom (is out of order), and there is trash people left all over the deck. Plus, they rent out all the spots along the deck, limiting space. Seems it is all about profit, not service.

I store one of my work trucks here. Never had an issue and it's close to my house/ shop.
We have tried multiple times to go there, and have left calls which were unanswered. No luck with the online support either. Public Storage has enough business that they do not have to care about customer service
Poor management and maintenance. Management and office staff is never there and forget about them ever answering the phone. Building is always a disaster. They also have a nasty habit of breaking their contracts! One of the building entry doors has been broken forever and they refuse to fix it. Its no wonder they keep having thefts. My advice dont walk RUN from this place. You can keep your items much safer for a whole lot cheaper basically anywhere but here.

It appears that no one works here and calling their phone number is futile. One of the gates has been broken for days now, anyone can access the property. They have no set access hours so people can come and go 24/7. This makes it extremely frustrating for people who want to keep what’s important to them safe. Where’s management or anyone for that matter?
I notified them a week prior to my move out date (which was in January) that we’d be moving out. have email confirmations and I’m still getting billed 4 months later. . I called the local branch, left messages with no response. I’ve connected with a customer service rep who said he would be in touch with the manager and not to worry. 4 months later I’m stuck chatting with their BOT. Anyway, I will add everything else was great. The Unit was clean and I have no other issue except… PLEASE STOP BILLING ME!
The process to rent and clear out was really easy and straightforward. I had my things in a unit for about 3 months during a summer internship and between apartments. However, I believe some of my stuff may have gotten carpet beetles that I noticed after I moved into my new apartment. Also, make sure to keep the padlock and key they give you if you want to rent from public storage again. They will charge you for a new one otherwise.

If I could give no stars, I would. Not only did we have a theft a month ago, we also have damage this month from their sprinkler system. They said the damage is from a burst pipe. They lied. There was a fire a few weeks ago. They didn’t bother to let us know until the mold took over. In addition, the cost went from 135.00/month to almost 300.00 per month.
Don’t let them fool you. They are all about themselves, and $$$$. This place is shady and nothing like they appear. Find another company. You don’t want these struggles.
Its a secure place to store stuff but be prepared to pay insurance more expensive then expected. I do really like the app and convenient way you can open gate with ur app on phone not having to put in code is nice,!
My wife and I rented a storage unit from this company and within a few weeks our access code had been deleted from the system. We tried calling the local office, company customer service number, chatting with representatives online, and even dropping by ANOTHER location. Both offices were closed by 3pm on a weekday, no one was answering their phones, and the online representatives could not help us in any way. For this moment, our possessions were essentially held hostage and we had no recourse. After the first month with Public Storage, we are NEVER using them again. Stick to local businesses who value their community and their customers.
I am very generously giving this location a 2-star review. They lure you in with "deals", just to increase your rent significantly a few months later. Beware of extra fees $20-50/mo on top of rent. The main storage building is always left wide open. The doors have been broken literally every single time I've been to my storage unit in the past year and a half. Tried billing me for another month after I had already moved out and threatened collections. Access hours are not great. They got even worse after ownership changed and I got a rude call after leaving one night at precisely 9:00pm. I was told that I must be out before 9:00pm, and if this happens again I will be evicted. Overall not a great place. Customer service and policies could use some attention.

What a great storage place the buildings are well-lit very well-kept and super clean going to be a customer for a long time
