I managed to do something stupid here - I didn't think it was possible to put padlocks on the door without it actually being latched shut. Sherilynn, the manager, caught it that day, and helped me keep my bike secure until I could rectify it. Great facility, great staff! Thank you!!

Beware - your $100 storage unit becomes $193 per month, rent increases almost double in less than one year!
After a truly horrible experience trying to move in when my unit was locked and not available as promised, and I was left waiting with a $$$ moving truck and movers searching every phone line for a non-existent property manager, I hoped it was just a customer service issue and the place would remain uneventful. But now after 11 months the rate has increased twice and is now $193 up to for my 10x10 unit. Insane. They know they have you once you've moved in!

I chose this storage facility specifically because of the location and good reviews, but after moving in our stuff I'm left scratching my head as to how this place has so many positive reviews. The doors don't work correctly, which makes moving things in & out (the entire point of having a storage unit) very difficult. The app also doesn't work correctly; you can open the gate with it but you can't exit using the app, you have to punch in the access code. There's literally one cart for the entire facility, which again, makes moving things in & out very difficult. Maybe there are more carts that we just haven't seen in the multiple times we've been there, but there's never staff there to help. If you're disabled/have mobility issues, forget about renting here. The place is clean, but it's a pretty janky facility otherwise.

This place is a joke. I’m currently paying the extra for controlled climate and it clearly is not! All my paint is ruined! Nobody answers the phone and IF there is someone on site they act like they don’t know what they’re doing. I’ve requested someone reach out to 4 different occasions to file a claim. Haven’t got one call text or email! You provide a service yet the hassle isn’t worth it!
I never leave bad reviews, but my experience with this facility and the broader company has been, frankly, terrible. I don't know where these good reviews could have come from, because every other customer I've run into and spoken with has these same, and more, issues.
For the price you pay ($100+/month) for a storage unit, it is nearly impossible to access your unit and whatever may be inside. There is less evidence of there actually being any staff or manager on site (or at all) than there is of sasquatch. If you have a choice between using this facility and paying twice the price to leave your things in a ditch of I-80, go with the latter.
For an itemized list:
- The chief concern, for me, has been that you can never get in touch with anybody. Nobody on-site, nobody answers the phones or returns messages (dozens of attempts over several months at calling the various numbers provided online and on-site), and other customers have the same exact issue.
- Several safety issues - doors that don't work going in or out, broken mechanisms that can/have caused injury, etc. If there were a fire, it's difficult to get out. If you have large items or mobility issues, it's difficult to get in. I guess one could say it's just too secure [sarcasm].
- The doors to the units are nearly impossible to latch shut and to unlatch, and I know this is a broader problem with more than just one door (why would a storage site have functioning door locks, anyway [sarcasm]?). I spoke with other customers that had the issue, I tried other doors when calling about my original complain in August; it's an issue with this and presumptively other facilities.
- The doors to get into the climate-controlled building are broken and have been for some time now. They were once automatic, now they aren't automatic to get in and you have to make several attempts to get them to unlock to leave.
- The gate code given to me to get into the building (beyond even the broken door) and the broader facility didn't work for months. It took several calls and online chats (you can't get a live person on their support lines anymore) to get more than a single-use code.
- The property manager is never on-site, never answers their phone, never responds to messages (tried calling several times). - Even the service number folks - when you can actually reach a live person - can't get a hold of the alleged property manager.
If you value your property, your money, and, frankly, your sanity, do not use this "service". It's expensive even if it did what it's supposed to, and it doesn't.
Jeannette is THE BEST!!!! She is AMAZING!!! Very friendly, helpful, and professional! She is smart and takes care of her renters! I appreciate the way she takes care of things! WONDERFUL employee!!!
BUYER BEWARE!!!!! I closed my account an hour after booking on 9/27 because they tried to charge me for a lock after I told them I did not feel safe. THEY MAKE YOU BUY THEIR LOCK SO THEY CAN BREAK IN AND STEAL YOUR THINGS- Just look at all the reviews. The manager of this location said that she has tried everything to keep them from breaking in, but PUBLIC STORAGE WILL NOT HELP YOU ONCE YOUR STUFF IS STOLEN. They won't even help you with the police report. After I canceled 9/27/23, I WAS THEN CHARGED RENT FOR OCTOBER.THEY STOLE MONEY FROM MY ACCOUNT. I had to file a BBB complaint, but they still refuse to refund my admin fee even though they NEVER administered anything. THEY ALSO BLOCKED MY AND MY REVIEWS ON FACEBOOK. BEWARE OF THESE SCAMMERS!!!
Not very secure
Stole my money. Booked a reservation under false pretense. Was told I had to use their lock. I tell them that there are several reviews about theft and break ins. Within an hour of of making the reservation - I requested a cancellation. They charged me AGAIN. And now refuse to refund my $30. I have filed with the BBB as well. The manager confirmed they do face break ins _nothing she can do to stop it & PUBLIC STORAGE WILL TELL YOU ITS NOT THEIR PROBLEM. Her exact words. Watch out as I’m sure the theft is INTERNAL. That’s why they didn’t want me to bring my own lock.
The man working here is one of the most pleasant people I have had the pleasure of doing business with in years. Butbhe dontntake or give any BULL.....but what a Hoot Owl.(wise)..
Update after years of renting here, my monthly rate has nearly doubled. It comes straight out of my checking so I am never late. Unfortunately they do not let you choose a due date. Only on the first of the month so if you are military getting paid on the 5th and 20th, make sure you're covered on the first. If you don't have the funds, you are charged a late fee in addition to rate increases annually.
I am paying twice the amount a new renter pays for the exact same unit. Unbelievable they can and do increase the price. I need the space and my things are important and valuable to me. Now I feel like I'm a hostage to this facility because I am disabled and not able to relocate.
The Northwest Police Precinct. Gate can be opened with app which eliminates opening car window when it's really cold or hot.
If you lose your lock key, you cannot cut the lock off yourself. Hire a locksmith if you need to get right in. Otherwise they will cut it off at no charge but it may be several days before they get to it.??
If a unit opens up in the row I am in, I will rent it and move all my things. Unethical to raise price when you have been there for years.
This doesn't deserve a star. The property manager is never available. My things were stolen out of the storage. Filed a police report but public storage never tried to respond to my calls so they could share their footage to the police to help with the investigation. Never returned my calls, i was told i had to set up an appointment with the property manager but they never answered the phone. I cancelled the service and was told i wasn't going to be charged yet here Im being charged because they said I never removed the lock. I was told by a representative over the phone that if I go thru the gate I would be charged another month. The rep tried to help but the property manager never returned my calls.
The whole frustrating thing out of all of this is that my sons military medals and plaques were stolen from the storage and these people are never there to clear things up.
Dont go here as the police have said there are many robbery cases from there but the property manager is never around.
PLEASE BEWARE! OUR UNIT WAS ONE OF MANY BROKEN IN TO AND OUR THINGS STOLEN!! COMPANY NEVER NOTIFIED US AND WE ONLY FOUND OUT WHEN WE WENT UP TO GET SOME THINGS. WORST EXPERIENCE EVER WITH TGESE PEOPLE. NO MANAGER ON DUTY. THEY ALL QUIT
This has been the worst experience I have ever had with a storage unit. The first unit I reserved was given away before I could even pay for it. Now that I have one, I can't even get in because they put a blue lock on it, and the property manager is never available. I made an appointment to meet up with them, and they never showed up. My monthly rent is almost due, and I still haven't been able to get ahold of the property manager, nor have I been able to use my storage unit.

Great staff in a great location - right behind a police precinct! They help me donate unwanted items, and call me thousands of miles away when my credit card needs updating. I’ve been a client since it opened in 2016. My entire life was stored here for the last six years. I also appreciate that it was built on high ground, thus the occasional regional flooding that occurs in Omaha never threatens your stuff. This place is a solid choice to store your junk.

I went to the property manager because no one was answering the phones for 3 days. No one is here and the door is locked and no one is anywhere at 11am. I call and call and no one answers. I call customer service and they aren't answering. I already paid for a unit and no one is giving me a gate code to access the unit.
This public self storage was absolutely amazing with their customer service. Tom was quickly able to assist me with the storage units and I needed after a long distance move. The paperwork was completed in a time efficient and simple manner. With that being said I highly recommend this storage location if you are thinking about storage in the future.

Terrible business, I do NOT recommend. I went to get a storage garage because my dad died and didn’t need it and didn’t move in. I asked for a full refund after moving out 3 days after purchase. They refused my refund for 3 months. Everyone should NEVER do business with this company.

The units are clean, and the climate control units are cool and dry. So far no leaks in the units I have rented, and have not noticed any in the building.
Would definitely recommend! As a bonus it's located near a police department facility. So you know it has police driving by, in addition to the cameras and other security features Public Storage has.
