To whom it may concern, I am writing to express my deep frustration and concern regarding the condition of my belongings stored at your facility. On October 5, 2024, I entered my climate-controlled storage unit and was immediately struck by an unusual and unpleasant odor. The unit was also much hotter than expected. Upon opening my unit, I was shocked to discover mold covering my items—this in a space that was specifically advertised as climate-controlled. After researching reviews, I discovered that Public Storage was aware of this issue as early as August 31st, yet there was no communication or warning provided to tenants. When I reached out to your team, I was informed that Public Storage is only obligated to notify tenants in the event of a break-in. While your representative emphasized the “store at your own risk” policy and advised me to file a claim through insurance, this approach entirely overlooks the severity of the situation. This is not simply a matter of financial loss—there are significant health risks associated with exposure to mold and fungi. Both my family and I, along with other tenants, unknowingly entered this hazardous environment, and some may have even taken contaminated items home, further increasing exposure risks. The health and safety of your customers should not be disregarded in favor of policy adherence or profit. I understand that businesses need to be profitable, but it is unacceptable to allow customers' personal, often priceless, items to be destroyed through negligence, and then to put their health at risk. While I was informed that I can file a claim for $250 with a $100 deductible, I find this offer inadequate. This issue was preventable, and your company should take responsibility for the damages caused, rather than passing the burden onto tenants. I have already consulted with climate control and restoration experts, and I expect a clear response outlining your company’s immediate plan of action. We cannot move our belongings to another facility without potentially exposing other locations and individuals to contamination, further complicating this matter. This letter is just a summary of my concerns, but I expect a prompt and appropriate response from your end. Please let me know how you intend to address this issue as soon as possible. The majority of their reviews are positive because they solicit them when you move in. I know because I removed mine to write this truth about my experience. Go online look at reviews, YouTube, and search Facebook. You could lose your whole life to be told go claim your $250 mold insurance. #BEWARE These pictures don’t even do it justice. I have videos too from myself and other tenants.

The G building of the ps location 7828 N tryon is infested with mold! The dm and property managers are fully aware of this SERIOUS situation but to my knowledge are still moving new tenants in! Since last Monday there has been more than 10 tenants who are storing their belongings have found out their entire unit is full of mold! They have lost and had many items damaged due to mold! But on a more serious health note the managers are not letting new or old tenants know about the mold which is putting people's health at risk! Some of these tenants have young or elderly family members! So if they are not aware of the / mold hasn't formed but spores are present they could be unknowingly taking mold to their homes! This RIDICULOUS especially because everyone's rent is due now and late on the 7th (gate code will be inactive without payment)! One of the photos below is of a couch taken a unit in the g building that has AT LEAST 3 different strains of mold on it! This is a multi million dollar business that has been established since the 70'! This situation HAS to he handled ASAP!

Jai is very helpful anytime I come in! I show up with a bunch of questions and either leave with all them answered or get pointed in the direction of someone who can answer them when she can’t. Which is very rare.

Cherese manhandled my phone during a pandemic to write a review on Google Maps under my name. The worst part: she didn’t even use correct grammar/punctuation. As I was leaving she thanked me for bringing her numbers up to the top of the company’s charts. As a Google Local Guide, I am appalled by this use of Google Reviews. The utter lack of caution during the ongoing pandemic is despicable.

I guess if you need short term storage and they have a promotional special, this is the place for you. BUT, if you need storage any length of time beware! I have a storage unit at this facility since 2020. Now in 2024, the price has gone up 320%. Through a pandemic and tough economic times, a company that would do this to customers is just plain greed. They make the oil companies look like charitable organizations!

My unit is locked because of unpaid rent but the payment is made no one is available to unlock the unit. Then I paid $45 late fees. I have to come the next day to access my unit.

Property Manager Gail made my move in simple and easy. She was really accommodating when it came to a small issue that arose with my storage lock. Honestly, the entire process, from creating my eRental all the way to actually moving my stuff in the storage unit, was relatively smooth and convenient. Good job all around.

Nobody ever at office, online site always down, forced to pay my bill on the phone after trying for days and have to pay additional fee because i paid for paying on the phone, Also fake reviews because you receive a discount for giving them 5 stars

Ms. Cloud provided exceptional customer service on Sunday and truly appreciate her professionalism!! She assisted me when I encountered trouble with an Erental at another location. My mother traveled from another state to assist me with moving out of my dorm, therefore time was of the essence. She helped resolve my problem in a timely manner after a customer service representative transferred me without notice. We were able to able to get moved in and my mother was able to get back on the road to return home. Thank you again Ms. Cloud!!! You’re truly appreciated!!

This facility is in need of a lot of repairs, from the emergency exit signs hanging from the ceiling from the wires, to the filthy floors, mold on the building, damaged partition walls. The smell of urine at the entrance door to the climate controlled storage, No one is usually in the office and calls were unanswered. This is definitely not a safe place for your belongings

Being honest it's probably the best storage facility in Charlotte based off location and customer relations** to an extent, but they are willing to take the time to have a conversation about any issues and come to a common resolution. And that's better then most.

I visited this location to just get pricing on boxes for my move. Lori provided me with the different options to make my move easy. Although I’m not moving until the beginning of the year Public Storage 25988 will be my first stop! I’ll see you soon Lori! Oh and by the way if I was a hiring manager I would have to steal her from you Public Storage! Her customer service skills are exceptional and she has such a sweet spirit.
