Public Storage Self-Storage Units at 3710 Monroe Road, Charlotte, NC

I’ve had several storage units at the Monroe Rd location in Charlotte. Monet always provides excellent service. She’s kind, patient, professional, and always solves any problems. She answers all of my questions immediately and is quick to help. I’m very satisfied with this location and the customer service.

Monet and Keeley were both very helpful in helping me find a solution for my needs. They took the time to show me my options and were very helpful and thorough in answering my questions! Thanks for the great service!

I have had an amazing experience at this location. The management team is kind and cares. I had a couple of financial life situations and they were more than accommodating. Big shoutout to Amber and Jenny!! Will use this place again if I need to have a storage unit in the future!!

I bought a unit at auction at this address last Friday unit D37 .The surprise was that some things were missing when we arrived to pick it up. We didn't notice at the time, but two days later I checked the purchase and the cover photos didn't count. The point is that I never buy units at auction here, because they steal some things before the customer arrives. This is the list of what disappeared: vacuum cleaner, girl's chair, work boots, red Nike box, small wooden box, black tennis shoes, folder. Be careful not to buy units at auction at this place. The owner will only respond if he receives 5 stars

Absolutely horrible! Don’t bother using them! Horrible customer service. Go next store and see Donna at Atlantic Self Storage- friendly wonderful customer service! Assigned a unit that didn’t exist….called the “help” number several times for assistance and they would not help. Could only deal with the local property manager who may or may not return that day and she didn’t pick up the phone number they gave. Stood in the parking lot for an hour and a half then finally went to Atlantic!

Surprisingly good customer service! The man on the phone was so helpful and kind! “First month free” is misleading but I only had to pay 30 bucks for the lock, insurance, etc. so overall I’m pleased because after all it’s a storage unit, what can I expect. My unit was clean, it’s drive up so it’s convenient, and you need the app to open up the gate on the way in and the way out so it feels secure. Cancellation requires 3 days notice which is not written anywhere just FYI. Would recommend this specific location.

Public storage is not loyal to there long standing customers. I had my unit for 3 years. They rope you in with a good rate, but then they increase it sometimes more than once in the same year. The unit didn't change nor did it improve, but yet it climbed to over 120.00 a month. 3 different times, I asked if they could work with the price, finances tight and needed a break. Each time, I got an email saying no. Most businesses will help even if it's only once a year and if your payment history is good, which mine was. Never late on payment, never declined or insufficient, loyal customer. Now that I found a better business to work with, they are willing to give me a discounted rate for 6 months. ..wow. It took me walking away to get what you could have given me when I asked? I hope none of you need a break/help one day. What a joke!

If I could give negative starts here, believe me it would have plenty. Worst experience dealing with this place. Rented a unit that after I paid for it was told it wasn't usable, they were going to fix it and let me know. They never contacted me again! I went back the NEXT day to cancel the unit and get my money back. The regional manager Angela refused to give me back my $457 and said I technically had the unit 2 days (I never had access to the unit because no one could open it). DON'T USE THIS PLACE - 3710 Monroe Rd, Charlotte!! They simply don't care about customer service. They prefer to take your money and not care about the person.

I went to this location to clear out my unit today because they raised the rent to almost $500. To my surprise, the lock had been cut and all items were ransacked. All of my valuble items stolen. This is a lock that Public storage placed per their procedure. There were also bags of trash thrown in the front of unit that had atleast 5 different peoples names on mail or medications. I bet if you cross reference those names, they will have been former tenants there so how convenient for an associate to dump others trash in my unit while loading their truck with my stuff. While this is an assumption, they have cameras but unfortunately they don't face the unit AND they unfortunately don't even work. I was told their previous manager was "sketchy" so that makes everything better after you've lost things that are important to you. After 5 hrs of being there, we weren't the only ones with an eventful day because another woman who moving from unit to unit had all of her stuff stolen in broad daylight. So the gates apparently work great too and allow an actual moving truck to come in and out. Moving onto the items that werent stolen, I got to take pictures of every single thing because the climate controlled unit that has been over $400 a month did so well that it allowed mildew to grow on all of my furniture. The manager or fill in was also great. So great that after she told us that the DM was "busy woman and would get back to us when she could" she made a phone call to her or maybe someone else higher up informing them that we probably did have nice stuff because "we drove a range rover". Good thing we didn't show up in a old beat up car because our stuff may not have been as nice. We do have insurance so the $5000 should cover the washer and dryer and guitar that was stolen. I guess we just take the loss on the other 100 items. Public Storage, someone needs to contact me immediately. It would be in your best interest to fix this issue with us before your paying others for the faults in your system. We just lost our whole home and many things that meant a great deal to our family so the LEAST that someone can do is make a phone call on the weekend. UPDATE: I still have not received a call from the district manager who was supposed to call within 72 hrs. I have emailed the CEO and called the customer line daily. We have found one of our items for sale on Facebook as well which was posted 14 days ago. Public Storage, if I don't receive a call today, don't bother calling because you will need to speak to our lawyer. The LEAST you all could do is give your customer a call in the time frame that your associates lay-out.

I was given the worst unit in the whole place. There’s a huge hole in the door, instead of replacing it they put a ghetto new lock on the opposite side(animals, bugs, and critters can easily get through—-and did!). The unit next door was available and they still chose to give me this POS. The inside is falling in. Spiders and lizards were all in there. Worst experience ever!!!

Firstly, I'm not one that typically rates or reviews places but I absolutely had to in this circumstance. I recently rented an additional storage unit from Mrs. Sardinia, at the Public Storage on Monroe Rd and the entire experience was far and away beyond an exceptional experience, to say the very least. If only everyone had the chance to engage with someone of her character and poise what an amazing world it would be! Honestly, I'd personally be willing to drive accross town for my storage needs, simply to be able to deal with the truly high caliber person Mrs. Sardinia represents herself as! Trust me when I say that you can't go wrong using the Public Storage under her management on Monroe Rd beside Auto Zone just before Wendover Rd. Thank you once again Mrs. Scardenia it was and is an absolute pleasure dealing with you.

Constant rate increases!! I have had several units with Public Storage and within a few months the rate always goes up. I currently have a 10 x15 that I've had only a few months. I have just received notification that my rate will go from $109 per month to $142 per month. A rate increase of 30% Update: The dm (Brenda) reached out and resolved my issue. Thanks. *Update: Shortly after updating this review, my rate was increased AGAIN. Brenda was completely unresponsive this time. I ended up moving to The Mini Storage Center. The rates average 20% less for the same sized unit and amenities. I have had zero rate increases in over a year. The staff is great too

I had appointment at NTryon at 9:30 this morning and no one showed up at the store to help. I received a call from Public Storage on Monroe Rd. Scardenia told me to come to her location she would happy to help. Scardenia was very helpful. She helped me locate a unit because Monroe rd did not have a wide enough door for my vehicle. She continued to search and we found the perfect unit on SBlvd. Thank you Scardenia for your professionalism and going an extra mile to help a new Charlotte resident find a storage unit.

Please do NOT do NOT stored your items here. I left my Unit Feb 03, came back Feb 09 & my unit had different lock with half of my storage missing on 10x15 unit, stolen. Do not store your personal stuff here or in any public storage. Insurance or Storage Unit do not wanna be responsible for all the items missing. Month of this with no results. In the process of going the legal route with a lawyer. Their is cameras but they will claim they didn’t see anything & take side with insurance company. No matter how much evidence you submit, insurance won’t care. Insurance is known for not paying claims, google has few testimonies & unresolved cases.

My credit score has been damaged because this company has issues. They sent out a collection notice to me when I Never took possession of any unit!!!! There was a mix up. Wrong size unit and location. I did not take possession of the unit and asked for a refund/ cancelation. Property management acknowledged and said it would be taken care of that day. She did not. I called customer service and they acknowledged the issue. They said it was fixed. It was not. Horrible service and experience!

I have been a customer with Public Storage since January 2012 at which time I had TWO 10X20 units out-of-state that contain my parent's belongings due to a 'forced sell' of my childhood home. In February of 2016 I changed over to ONE 20X20 unit. I have diligently paid on time and even paid 6 months in advance. Public Storage is determined to raise my rent again and I feel they are not treating me with the same respect I give to them. I followed the proper course of action by contacting the Property Manager first who was very willing to help me. She told me a 'Rate Specialist' would be calling me to discuss this but I never got a return call. I called her a second time and was given the same response. Again, no call back. At that point I contacted the District Manager by phone and asked for a return call. No call. I called a second time and still did not receive a call back. I then called the Property Manager once again and asked for a call back from her. No response. Due to a terminal illness I am unable to travel out-of-state to rectify this situation. The belongings inside the unit mean everything to me. Until I'm well enough to vacate this unit I hope Public Storage will work with me. It does not speak well of Public Storage to not communicate with me as I've been a loyal customer for 10 years (almost 11) and would like to continue. My biggest complain here is how I was tricked. I was told for the 1st month it will only be $30. As soon as I arrived many fees were added including a bs admin fee. Needless to say my total came out to more than 4 times what I was quoted. There were closer and more convenient storage company’s but I chose this one due to the “deal” they had. I was absolutely tricked and now I’m stuck paying way more than I thought at least for the 1st month. There’s no honesty here and be prepared to pay more than what you were quoted. The staff is friendly and the storage itself is satisfactory.
