There is always some sort of issue every time we go to this location. The bathroom is a nice amenity, but the women's room is always locked, and the men's room is always broken in some way. The doors are often not operational to the Drive-In loading area. These are basic amenities that should be operational for the price they are receiving every month. Planning on finding a new location soon.
Haylee at Public Storage on Hwy 65 NE was fabulous! Great communication skills, very clear instructions , very time efficient. Made getting a rental a pleasant experience.
The storage units are clean as is the property. Public Storage sends a tex message the day of your lease with the gate code making it easy to access your unit. It was pretty seamless.
However, the first day that I arrived at my unit, there was an abandoned U-Haul truck blocking the gate. I could not contact anyone from the local Spring Lake Park office or public storage corporate office for over three hours. I filed a police report to try and help get the truck out of the way. It was aggravating that no one from Public Storage called me back - even after the issue was resolved. Eventually the owner came back to claim the abandoned U-Haul rig.
The place is nice, and affordable. Just be aware that you're on your own when it comes to issues on the property. I would not hold my breath for any customer service reps at this location.

One elevator had no light. At one point I locked my phone in my box and didn't know the code... The intercom buttons don't work and trying to flag the staff on camera didn't work, finally had to walk to the office to get my code since I needed a code to drive out. She was nice. They also provided rodent pellets as the top of my space is just metal wire.
Haylee (Manager) at this location is very cooperative, kind, and ready to extend help.
Parts of the facility are broken way too often and take way too long to fix for the prices charged. (Example, no lights in elevator, broken doors, entry gates, closed bathrooms) Prices also are hiked up yearly and ridiculous. Public Storage is corporate profits first.

Renting a unit here, would definitely recommend, great folks at the front desk.
Update: We had rented from/stored with the Spring Lake Park Public Storage again a few years after this initial review. Catiana was still working there, and she remembered us from when we rented with them before. Every time we'd see her, whether we were there to pay rent or to simply access our unit, she'd always wave and say hi with a smile on her face.
Safe & secure place to secure your items. Catiana (sorry about spelling) was very helpful in setting up our rental when we first moved into Public Storage. Very friendly! Robin is there now, and she is very helpful and friendly too and helped make storing & moving out a breeze. I wouldn't store with any other company or at any other Public Storage location. Thanks, ladies!

I have been renting here for years and there's no better manager & team than katiyanna and haylee! She works very hard keeping the place clean and keeping out the riff raff! I highly recommend this place to ANYONE looking to rent. The ladies are very helpful and informative and always willing to help you get the right space at the right rate. Rates do go up over time but they have all the answers to help me keep it low!
Let’s be honest: If you are going to a storage unit, it might not be the best of times. Sure, you might be storing seasonal items in a tiny locker, but there’s a better than average chance that you are in some big transition and maybe not of your own choice.
So if you are already feeling angry, frustrated, sad — or all of the above — the last thing you need is someone being difficult or argumentative, making things generally worse. Luckily, the person at the front desk every time I have been in, a person named Haylee, has always been cheerful, helpful, clear, concise and a general pleasure to work with.
Haylee helped me with my entry code that wasn’t working. She helped me get units that were close together. She helped explain about my charges in a way that made sense but also wasn’t condescending. My move has been a nightmare, but working with Haylee has been a dream… and one of the few positive spots in this process!
Public Storage should be proud to have such a person being the first contact point with their customers!
Haylee came into my place of business andwe got to talking about what she does for work. She was so informative about everything and a SUPER nice person. I felt like i was doing a rental right there sooo if I were to ever find the need to rent , I will definitely be working with this amazing lady Haylee!

I want to leave this review to shed some light on by far the best employee your company has to offer. I had been struggling with issues related to my payments for my rent for a couple months and had a very hard time trying to get things figured out and resolved by several employees at this location and also with a few people at the corporate office. The day finally came when I walked into the spring lake park office to be greeted by HAYLEE BEHNKE. First off she was very happy, calm, friendly and an overall wonderful presence to be greeted by walking in the door. She was very patient with me as I explained to her with some frustration all of the things that I had been struggling with for the last few months with my rent. She proceeded to handle the situation EXTREMELY well and did everything she possibly could to accommodate me and the troubles I was having for the last few months and in very little time she got everything figured out for me and I walked out the door with a smile on my face! I hope she gets the recognition she deserves for being the BEST employee your company has to offer!!!
The area is well cleaned up and haylee was always helpful and handled/answered every question she was very professional and I recommend this place
We have been very unhappy at the Spring Lake location. Prices are higher than at other locations, snow is plowed into a pile in front of units (happened to us), they do not salt at all & it gets very slippery where it drips & freezes in front of the units. They are also NEVER in the office even though the hours show that they should be open w/no indication of when someone will be in. We are moving to the Blaine location where it is way cheaper & I am told they are fantastic to work w/.🤞
They have raised my rent over 100 dollars in the last year. Their intro prices are lies. Beware if your keeping your stuff in storage for longer than 6 months.
Rose took my call just before close and let Haylee know I was on my way in and worked together so that when I arrived right before closing time that they had everything ready for me and although I had a million questions but they took care of it all and went great when others would have tried to rush out at closing time so that was really cool.

Tim helped answered all my questions and showed me around the whole property. He was very helpful and was able to get me into the perfect unit for my needs.
I actually had a great time setting up my account and my unit with the site manager, Justus. They informed me of everything I needed to know, and they were very kind and professional. We even joked around a little and that made it a nice and relaxed experience. This is my first time renting a storage unit, so I didn't really know what to expect, but I'm happy to say it went very well thus far.
Justus was the absolute best! They took care of every need I had and went above and beyond! 10/10 highly recommend!

It's a decent enough storage facility. Rates 4 stars because I don't like that you have to enter a code to leave. Sure, getting in... but to leave? More hassle than it's worth and causes too many traffic jams.

Went to meet someone to get the storage unit and no one ever showed up to give me the lock. The text said someone would meet me there at the selected time. I found the storage unit but it had 2 feet of icy snow in front of the door. Looks like that’s your problem to clear that snow yourself. They had plowed the middle but not around any unit doors. I personally decided at that moment the didn’t take care of their property real great so they probably really don’t care about yours. I would be concerned that as the snow melts it goes right into your unit. No thanks.
I expirienced something that I've never seen in the past with this Public Storage and it was awesome! I was able to reserve, sign up and pay all online and we did not have to go into the office at all. We downloaded the app, signed in with the instructions provided in a email, showed up and was able to open the gates with my phone, got to our locker and the lock was there already.
This is by far the best expirience renting a storage locker and by far the easiest and fastest.
Update: I started here with one locker, the experience has been so positive that I now have 5 lockers here. That is a testament to how well this facility treats it's customers

There is NEVER anyone in the office. I am trying to end the lease and I can't get anyone to do the move out walk thru. Phone calls, emails have not been answered.
Got a 5x5 space, temperature control for $15 a month. Was $11 couple months ago. Cheaper then most out there.
It’s clean and secure, for first timers like me beware the multiple extra fees they tack on. $30 “activation” fee, $20 for their “special” lock, $15 for their renters insurance per month that looks pretty useless but I have to have unless I go through the process of getting my own…if I hadn’t been pressed for time by the when i realized how much more this would all be, I would have chosen somewhere more upfront with their costs. Also they charge you on the first of each month not 30 days from when you start so beware getting a double charge like me in one month, they won’t prorate. Also if they call you they love to do it about 2 minutes before they close so when you call them back you get a voicemail they’ll never respond to. Overall it’s frustrating but the place itself is quite nice.
I rented a indoor unit, for a couple of months, boy do they have that place locked up, u need your code to get into every door and elevator, the map is a little confusing but you get use to it, good prices on units, and friendly staff too.

This place has raised the rent every 3 months. Gate no working all the time. someone always has 2 carts to rearrange their locker.
I have had a storage locker here for 3 years and it has constantly gone up in price . My availability to get to and utilize my storage locker has been getting less and less. When you go there if the doors aren't broken the gates are broken. there are too many people blocking your ability to get at your storage lockers they don't do anything about it. The employees there block the gate so you cannot get in and out then they lock the office and they're not there when they say that they're open so there's no one to deal with your issues. I swear it is run by kindergartners.
Expensive and unorganized staff
I was charged a full month's rent when I vacated three days into a month and was refused any kind of prorated amount back. Now Public Storage gets full use of that space, potentially taking someone else's money, for the remaining 28 days of the month.
There is no reason for policies like this except for anti-consumer greed. As it stands, I will be using other companies for my storage needs in the future, and will actively recommend against any of my friends or family using Public Storage in all my future travels.

The young lady wasn't I. The office she was doing her job. I suggest that they are able to put up a sign stating that they are away for a few minutes, so that way they don't have upset customers who came to pay their bill.
Loved storing things here! Service was great from EVERY employee and the unit was clean and in excellent condition. I had other storage units closer to my home but this place had the best deal and best people. Highly recommend!

They raised the cost of my space 100 dollars the first year and an additional 40 this year. Their system is automated and despite conversations and notes in their system, you'll still get notices for things you shouldn't get while being in contact with their office. The people in the office are always kind, but the system itself is not friendly or functional. When I call, I always have to remind the staff to check notes about things I'm calling to address and they start out with a baseline belief I have not previously contacted about the issues I have to repeat call about. It's incredibly frustrating to have to deal with. If you can find a place that doesn't raise their fees astronomically and treat you like you pay $5 a month, I'd recommend it.

Do not use if you need to get into your locker regularly. The gate is always broken. I use this to store some inventory for my store and today is the 5th time I was not able to access because gate was broken. Cost me a lot of labor not having the items I need from storage.
