I have had storage units for many years all over town, but the Columbia Heights Public Storage stands out with their exceptional cleanliness, ease of use and customer service. Connie at the front desk always has me leave with a smile.
The building is clean, safe, and secure. Connie’s customer service is a day brightener. She runs a tight ship but you can tell that she really enjoys being of help to the customers.
Connie was an absolute angel with helping me get set up with my rental, I’m hard of hearing and she went above and beyond helping to make this a success! Will definitely be sending business her way!
I’ve had 2 units here for a few years and this place used to be great, it was always clean and tidy. However it has went downhill fast, this week somebody urinated outside of one my units leaking inside & this morning when I arrived I seen a cockroach. I am looking at a different location asap.

My 10 x 15 unit started at $100. After a few months they raise it to $240!!! Picture of my bill attached.
Staff won't communicate via email. Maybe they don't want a paper trail.

They don’t want to give a refund for a returned lock/key. I rented a unit on July 25th to start on July 30th. I moved out August 27th. Per policy, “lock must be returned within 30 days of *MOVE IN* for a refund”. The manger at this location said the 30 days starts when you sign the contract (so the day you register the unit) and not the day of move in. This goes against Public Storage policy. I left a vm for the district manager to hopefully solve this issue otherwise I will contact my credit card company. Don’t rent from here.
This place is amazing! Not to mention how awesome and kind Connie is. Always a good energy around here. I’ll continue doing business with this place!

Do not rent here unless you absolutely do not have any other choice.
I paid using their phone system, but it didn't pay the full amount, so I got a late fee, which they won't remove, despite paying on time.
In addition, the online account portion won't work, forcing me to pay via phone with$10 fee, and they refuse to help with that as well.
Met with Karla at the Hilltop location and got a walk-through of storage facility. Karla was professional and pleasant, answered all our questions....thank you Karla! We were able to complete the rental agreement fairly quickly and received the keys for the storage unit.
PS: there are security cameras throughout the facility and it seemed quite secure, with access limited to the area of your specific storage unit.

I like the place it’s its very clean. The staff is unusually good. I think the downside is every three month your rent will go up about 28%.
I don't think the worker here that work hard to make sure everything is fine get that part of the 28%.

Very friendly and convient. The ladies were very polite and respectful. The only issue I have with the storage place was the price. When your promotion is first month free, when your done with all the fees it comes out to $50. So is your first month really free? Can't honestly answer that.

While the staff might be good, it doesn't make up for the type of company Public Storage is.
They lure you in with a reasonable rate. Your original rate expires after 6 months and then the rent increases start hitting hard.
My rate has gone up $100 in 3 years. That's more than a 50% increase.
You think you'll be renting a $120 unit, but pretty soon you'll be at $250.
Karla will make you life so easy! Super helpful and knowledgeable.

This is absolutely ridiculous. I have been a customer now for 3+ years, pd on time and I get treated this way. I need to access my unit and I have now left 2 messages for the property manager never a return call. I have spoken with 2 employees and now I am told I have to hire a locksmith. I have had my lock removed in the past, this should not be my responsibility. The least you can do is help me out. I plan on taking my items out soon because your prices are too high and then there is no customer service. I have been a property manager of apartments for 16 years and I would never treat my residents this way.

Well I've been paying 57 for my storage and someone has been going through from the top I tried to tell them but it's not changed so now what? Plus most times I go even in the day hours doors are locked noone there ..why? My price went from 20 something to 57 dollars and why it's the smallest unit you have dang .,.
The lady behind the counter is extremely rude my friend won a storage locker through storagetreasures and I was authorized to pick it up. So I drove an hour to get to the public storage and the lady refused to let me into the locker until the moving truck arrives in the morning. Per the rules of storagetreasures auction site I have 48 hours to clean out this Locker. Nowhere does it say that it has to be in one go. I have been doing this for five and a half years and this is the first time I've ever been treated so rudely by somebody who works in customer service if you don't like your job and get a different one. But this is how I make a living. Unbelievable!! Storagetreasures has even tried to call her now five times and she does not pick up the phone and she is at her desk. Wonderful customer service skills

Went to facility when I reserved unit online..to make sure I did it properly and did not owe anything on 3/29 for a 3/30 move in. I was told NO I asked to see the unit to make sure it was big enough visually. I was told I can show you a video. So customer service sucks...they call them selves giving first month for $1 but then they charge you for a lock they add a process fee and mandate insurance where is the discount if after all charges you still paying prettyuch the same price...they charge a process fee but don't do the job to show you how to use the facility...so why charge? Never again will use a public storage company a

Firstly, I was begged to leave a positive review, I remember thinking it was a little odd, because I barely even knew about the company, but the initial consultation was songs and praise about the company. This review isn't necessarily the fault of the employees here, but my rates CONSTANTLY increase SIGNIFIGANTLY. Doing some research, it seems as though, this is the business model, get people in, then raise the rates. I can see a smaller *cost of living* increase, but going into about my second year, the rates have nearly doubled. When I was initially looking for storage solutions, this place couldn't stop talking about how reasonable they were, I am sure they knew that would come to an end. I will be moving to a different business all together, never do business with them again, and let anyone looking, about my experience.

I really liked her attention because she speaks Spanish, which we were able to understand us very well thank you.

Not to mention, the attention to detail she has provided is impressive, always going above and beyond for her customers. Karla is the most pleasant property I’ve met with Public Storage. The facilities are wonderful. The convenience of the touchless entry is fabulous. You can be sure that your things are secure as they review their security footage if there is ever an issue. If it wasn’t for the increase in our rent and the distance from our home, we would have stayed.

My husband passed in November 2021. I gave them all the paperwork they requested and still in January they have not taken their lock off of my unit so I can get into my belongings. Everything paid. Now stand and wait and they tell now more forms need to be filled out. I have bad knees and they don’t have chairs.
