Awful experience. Don’t let them fool you. The promo for $1 ends up being $60. Their customer service is awful. I ended up cancelling my rental before the move in date and I only received a refund for the locks. They call me all the time, never leave messages and if I answer they just hang up. Do not waste your time. They are stressful.
Jay the Manager is great. She keeps the place so clean.
We stopped in at the Pontiac Trail, Wixom, MI location of Public Storage to check on the availability of a storage unit and met the enthusiastic Public Storage Building Mgr. Jay explained, in detail, about the best location and storage unit size to fit our needs so we could make an informed decision. She took us to see some storage units and answered our many questions with knowledge and patience.
Jay was wonderful to work with and assured us that we would appreciate the many automated lights we would encounter as we walked the hallways, the huge elevators for transporting our belongings to the 3rd floor, the flatbed carts that are provided, and the many safety features associated with the building from the password-protected entrance to the lock on our unit. We couldn’t be more pleased with the professional staff, the cleanliness of the building and grounds and the safety measures that are in place.
Thank you, Jay, for your service and support. You truly made our decision an easy one because of your knowledge, your friendliness, and your positive reinforcement to all of our questions.
This is my second experience renting a unit at this location, and both times I have been fortunate enough to have been helped by Jay who is always helpful, kind, and compassionate. Public Storage in Wixom makes it easy to rent and maintain a peace of mind.

I was nervous about moving in today. But Cole made the process very easy. She went above and beyond to show me the ropes of how to access the building, where to park, and even where my unit was.

I got charged an extra month and they refuse to refund. You absolutely cannot reach anyone over the phone. Their IVR system is broken. I needed to ask questions about their move-out policy to avoid charges before I moved out. I called the 800 number prior to the end of the month. The IVR system didn't put me through, so I tried another day when it was working. I was only able to leave a message for the manager. While I was waiting for a call back the first of the month happened and I got charged for a full month. THEY WILL NOT REFUND OR ACCEPT RESPONSIBILITY FOR BROKEN PHONE SYSTEM. I am paying for a month I don't need because of their IT problems and lack of reps over the phone. (Couldn't find info in app, my computer was packed away). This is an abusive practice. Shame on you.

I began renting when it was Simply Safe Storage and was a bit concerned about the transition. However, I received wonderful customer service yesterday while working with Sam in Wixom. She was quick to help me with my needs, easy to work with and friendly.

She has been working here since before it was changed over to a Public Storage (this place was previously called Simply Storage). When you are dealing with such a large company as Public Storage, people like Jay help you know that you are not simply a person renting a unit, you are someone that is appreciated.

This is a great facility. Jay takes great care of the building. It’s always clean and is truly climate controlled unlike other supposed climate controlled facilities.
There are many wonderful things about this storage location. I have had my unit at this location for five years or so, and throughout this time, I have loved several things about it. It is well maintained and always clean and organized. The elevator is super spacious, and carts are very well respected by the unit holders. I have had only good experiences while entering the unit. And the service whether by call or in person is EXCEPTIONAL. Jay, in particular, has always been exceptionally courteous and considerate to lets me know of any requirements or changes for the unit, and she is incredibly kind and helpful! Recommend this location to anyone looking for a safe, organized, and spacious units.

Public Storage bought this property from a different company and have jacked the rate up twice in less than a year. Vastly overpriced, look elsewhere because there doesn’t seem to be any end to the price increases from my research into this company
It was a horrible experience I called approximately 20 times and no one answered and tell him I called the 800 number and I canceled it. I don’t recommend it at all.

I have no idea how this place has almost five stars, someone stole my lock the property manager wouldn’t take care of it also when I asked for a refund they only refunded me 60% of my money back.
DO NOT RENT HERE. YOU CANNOT SPEAK TO A CUSTOMER SERVICE PERSON. I have called 6 times now trying to cancel my storage unit after completely moving out of it this past weekend and my voicemails and calls have all been ignored.

If I do not receive a call back I’m 24 hours, I will be contacting the city of wixom to report business malpractice not allowing people to cancel their accounts, and not speaking to customers and then I will proceed to post this same review on every/any possible review site.

Absolutely no one ever on the premises !!! Then they charge an extra $10 for over the phone payments and then an extra 72 hours for them to let you get into the unit
Prior to changing to Public Storage would have given a five star rating. However since the transfer I have been trying for at least 3 weeks to get hold of the property Manager or any human being. Have called and left messages, have done virtual chat and have personally went to the storage area during the stated office hours. No one! The statement on the website and voicemail message your business is important to use is laughable!
***UPDATE*** Disregard my initial review at the bottom. Wow! So Public Storage bought them out in the last month which is exactly the storage company I was getting rid of due to extreme price hikes that were absurd and happened like twice a year. So interestingly I just got something in the mail a few weeks ago stating an increase for all units. I literally just started business like 4 months ago. Are you kidding me. Wow to let public storage take over is an huge detriment to your business and you will see the effects. No doubt. I’m already looking elsewhere. Eff public storage
Absolutely love the prices and the fact they don’t raise your payment every 5 months like Public Storage. Also they actually have people in the office, it’s not always closed.
This overall a very nice storage facility. It's a little pricey in my opinion but you absolutely get what you pay for. I was able to get my storage unit the same day I signed up. Using the storage unit is very easy thanks to elevators and push carts available to use for free. The facility is very clean, well lit and feels very secure. I highly recommend it.

First, the front off staff is fantastic so this isn't on them, but I just got a notice that my rent will increase $113 (50%) with 30 days notice after being there less than 6 months. I'm active duty army and can't drop everything to run there and either move units or find another storage facility. This is NOT how you should do things.
UPDATE: After talking to the front office staff, they reduced it to an increase of $10, which I am very thankful for. It says alot about their front office staff.

Returning customer at this location in Wixom. Reasonably priced, secured, clean, and no issues with prior rental space. Within a few minutes of my online booking, Jay called me, and I was set up same day to look at the unit, she was friendly and answered all questions I had. Smooth process. Easy in and out for dropping off your items.

Helped buddy move in. Used for storage 8 years ago. Still crazy clean but still have minimal IQ users who park in the drive lane and leave their cars so you can’t get around. Signs are pretty clear I thought. Don’t worry, we moved your car for you. You’re welcome.
