I would like to share my experience at the Towson location on 10/4/24. I was transferring Units and Candace was the most helpful during my experience. She was very compassionate in understanding my circumstances and tried to find the best deal possible to fit my needs. She was very professional and accommodating. She should be recognized for her superb customer service. I hope I have her name correct. She was there for a 9-1pm shift on 10/4/24

I initially had no issues upon first moving all of my things into storage. Maybe three months in is when I realized there is a HUGE 🐁 problem. I brought my concerns to the staff and was advised they have a pest company that comes out. Well, either the pest compnay isn't doing their job or there is a bigger issue, whatever the case I'll be moving my things out due to the 🐁 droppings that seem to be common place and not too mention the monthly storage fee is going up. So Public Storage wants more money per month yet mouse droppings are a reoccuring thing. Makes sense to me.

My overall experience with Public Storage was and still is fantastic. The ease of secure access via the app and the access control systems for security are great.
Ty was the lady who helped with my registration, she was knowledgeable, personable, friendly, and helpful. I look forward to returning here in my logistically complicated move process as everything through PS with Ty made the storage process significantly more manageable.
Additionally, Ty was nice enough to let me know about the low amount of carts(there's only 1!!!), assist in saving money with other unit sizes, helping with prepayment and automatic payment setup, and assistance in understanding the many forms an asterisk can be hand drawn in(lol).
5 out of 5 would recommend to any and everyone needing storage in the area, extra space storage loves hiking rates by 90% on whim, Public Storage is off to a great start with (claimed) 6 month fixed rates.

Ty from the 1717 E Joppa Road Parkville MD location was very helpful with my move out process. She went above and beyond her duties and even comforted me in that stressful time. When I contacted them, she made sure I was able to get what I needed to have a smooth transition. I wouldn’t hesitate to use this facility again as long as she is there because I know I would be taken care of.

The only things. I don't like are that when I go the bathrooms are locked and no bathrooms on each floor upstairs. And the gate coder is far from the drivers side going in and out of the gate.
Do not waste your money unless you have to... This place is dirty, bathrooms are locked most of the time and I received 3 rate increases within 14 months...this is a ripoff.
All they do is raise the rent.
I do not recommend renting a storage unit here. We rented one starting a week ago and when I walked into the office to talk to the guy to get directions of where to find our unit, he acted like he didn't want to be there. Not helpful at all. Then, when we inspected it, we found mice droppings in it. I then called management to talk to someone about it, but no one ever called me back.
Frustrated, I canceled our unit (unfortunately, probably won't get our money back) and am now renting a unit from a different company. This location at least isn't well-maintained.
Even though I wish we had not paid for a unit before inspecting it first, I'm glad that we noticed the mouse droppings before moving our belongings in! Not worth our time, money, or the headache.

Ms. Tonya was helpful but next customer service should let people know that isn't a great place for storing a whole, just small storing because of the elevator.
I have had a unit here for less than 2 years, my rent has more tgan doubled in that time.
I just emptied my unit after finding mouse droppings and a dried skeleton at the front of my unit and was denied a rent reduction or discount. Upon clearing out my unit we found much more mouse droppings along the walls of my unit. They couldn't even bother to notify people that they were having a mouse problem. No traps or poison anywhere, we had to ask for some to be put in our unit. The staff hasn't been responsive at all to this ordeal, the one who came up the first time to get the skeleton just crushed it with a broom and spread the mess.
Your belongings will get stolen from this facility. It's not if it will get stolen, it's when it will get stolen.. Pay till it's someone elses property!

I wrote a review last week but it wasn't listed. Just want to warn anyone leading a space to be sure you ask about how to vacate the unit. We didn't find out that we would be charged for a full month regardless of when during the month we moved our items out of the unit. I would think they would prorate but they don't. We moved everything out and swept clean the unit on Oct. 6th but were charged for the whole month, allowing them to rent the space to a new customer. Isn't that double dipping? When I asked the employee at the front desk why that policy wasn't in writing, she didn't have an answer. I told her that we never received any notice that was their practice. I
Nothing like finding out all your important stuff was stolen out of a locked unit. Not to mention that they kept the gates open for months so that anyone can get in . Thanks for the loss and the fact I paid to have my stuff stolen ! Not to mention they have a mouse infestation , and don’t lock security gates. And non working or no cameras! 1717 Joppa Rd location. Beware!
Do not place anything worth value in this facility. It will be robbed and stolen. This facility is robbbed every 6 or so months, and occurring more frequently. No cameras, gate is never working properly. Our unit was cut open at the ceiling and things stolen. What a joke!
Two weeks ago someone cut through the mesh ceiling, entered my storage unit through the ceiling, and rummaged around in my belongings. There doesn't ever seem to be an employee at the location, so I reported it at a different location and was told that a district manager would call me. They called once and left a message, but I keep calling back and cannot get them on the phone and they haven't called again. Meanwhile, they also haven't fixed the ceiling, so my unit is not secure. DO NOT RECOMMEND.
UPDATE: After calling every day for a week, someone finally called back, but it was a regular worker that said that he was not empowered to do anything. He said that he could write up "my concerns" in an email to the district manager. The district manager was the one supposed to call me.
UPDATE 2: I gave up and moved to another storage unit company. A regular worker checked me out and I showed her the gaping hole in the ceiling as the reason why I'm moving. She said that she could let the district manager know, although it is clear that management does not care.
AVOID THIS PLACE. Completely unresponsive and un-professional.
Ms Alveana was great, she went above and beyond to assist us. She took us to each storage to show us the sizes to make sure its what we need she was pleasant and genuinely nice. We had visited 3 other public storage that day and I was disappointed with customer service. Ms Athena was not aware of our visits to the 3 previous public storages until we finished and I told her and then she apologized and it wasn't even her place of business. She recieved this review because she was greatly appreciated. We didn't get the storage at the time because they didn't offer the discount promotion at the location but she deserved this review
I rented 2 units here in February to accommodate a relative's belongings during a cross-country move - this is a major expense. At the beginning, there were a couple of hand carts and (oddly) shopping carts. Not deluxe, but something. Since then the supply of anything that can be used to move heavy items has dwindled to - nothing. Families have been trying to move in entire dorm room contents in the hot weather having to hand-carry every item. The staff there are helpful but obviously this is beyond their control. Apparently a shipment of hand carts is late or something? If management cared, they would be doing something to rectify this, whether that's buying wood and wheels at Lowe's and making a cart or getting on Ebay or shopping yard sales for kids wagons or SOMETHING. I can't believe with the money this location pulls in they can't figure out a solution.
I love this location my daughter is renting here and I came in to pay her bill. Mary was super informative about all my questions and I mean all of them (had a lot) the location is surprising super clean and I enjoyed our convo thanks Mary you’re great def rent here at the Joppa rd location
