Steve was awesome. He toured the place and explained all the details to me. I feel very safe and secure having my stuff here. Everything very clean. Bruce was great at setting me up with the app. Great A team!
The PS system is overpriced, rigged and not prone to service excellence. Frankly, they have clients over a barrel and set their policies to benefit PS with little or no room for the customer. Their rates and bolt on charges are above market and they don’t care. Recently, they increased the rent on a 10’ x10’ space by nearly 50%, from $120/mo to $174.00/mo. I switched to a 5 x10 space, had to pay an ‘admin fee’ and f $35 although I’ve been a customer since January 2023. They only cut off locks on the 1st so if one needs to get out due to losing a key or combo, one has to incur the next months rent on the space even though I switched to another in house smaller space on the 1st. They rarely man the front office, don’t return phone calls for hours and often are not prepared when one returns their calls.
Wayne is gone, but he would not have tolerated this management behavior, although they are stressed and stretched thin, looking after multiple projects and can’t be in two places at once, a function of low paid jobs generally these days….I’ll not rent from them next time too shoddy for my tastes.

I’ve used Public Storage for two years now. My experiences there have been pleasant. Move in and out has been very easy. The facility seems well maintained, and easy for college students to use.
I was considering switching services, until the end of my rental this year. I had an issue, and called the facility. Anna (I assume that’s how it’s spelt), an employee there, answered.
Anna was very accommodating and provided excellent customer service. She went above and beyond to assist me. It made me change my mind.
I will definitely be using public storage again next year!

As someone who was new to having a storage unit I was unsure of how everything worked, but the team has been so helpful, kind, and accommodating in the 2 years I’ve stored here. I especially appreciate Anna at this location - she goes above and beyond to help customers and give them an amazing experience!! I recently had an issue with my rental and she helped me immediately and was extremely quick in her communication and turnaround. I cannot thank her enough for everything she has done! My experience with Public Storage has been pleasant because of the professional people they employ. My current unit is in a building with low vacancy, so the price is steep, but it’s clean and cool and my belongings are safe. Five stars to Bruce in Danvers and Anna in Salem. They have made my experience pleasant and put me at ease. My 5yr old would give Anna 10/5 stars!!! 😂
Beware! Even if you're waiting for your movers on the property they call this loitering and a 'security risk'. You are constantly monitored and thought to be suspicious for simply going to your storage unit which you are paying high prices for! I was told by Stephanie, the manager, that Ana, an employee, "caught" me SLEEPING in my unit! This NEVER HAPPENED! When I approached Ana with this she denied ever saying that! It's hard enough upending your life, losing a mother, and having to store her precious belongings in these places, but then to be abruptly thrown out on top of this is inhumane, unjust and I would hope illegal! I've done nothing wrong here and quite frankly I'll be glad to be rid of public storage and their constant lies and harassment!! Oh and good luck trying to find someone in the office! It's like a ghost town run on cameras! Useless!

I am urging you to avoid Public Storage on 12 Goodhue Street in Salem, MA. One employee was completely unprofessional and incredibly rude and oblivious. Long story short, I spoke to a gentleman named Steve after being left an email. Afyer attempting to explain that I never moved in due to last minute changes, and that the unit was vacant, he then proceeded to call me a "cocky prick", due to me having to repeat myself a few times due to him talking over me as I was explaining the reasoning for me not needing the storage unit. Therefore, that said unit being vacant because I never moved in. I'm counting my lucky stars I ended up not needing them, and will proceed to avoid them in the future.

Living out of the country, I have had all my personal possessions and art work in this location for 10 years. I've never experienced any issues. Security, climate control and unit cleanliness (no animal droppings, etc.) is very important to me. (I have someone who checked up on my unit regularly.)
I recently returned to the US and need to move my stuff to another state. The move will entail some special arrangements, and Ana (a Manager at this location), came to my rescue! She was extremely understanding and advocated on my behalf to make sure that my upcoming move would go smoothly. I am most appreciative for her commitment to providing great customer service! What makes this encounter today even more impressive is that I hate (as in H-A-T-E) Public Storage Corporation & more specifically, how they do business. They take advantage of employees, storage tenants (MOST ESPECIALLY long time tenants) ...and they do it with arrogance knowing your tenant agreement permits their cavalier abuse. Through a unique set of circumstances, I was forced to rent a unit today at the Goodhue Street location in Salem, MA... where I met an amazing property manager named Bruce. Almost immediately I was defused with his amazing, helpful assistance and attitude. To say Bruce is a special person is gross understatement... and as a seasoned management consultant, frankly I'm not easily impressed. Prior to meeting Bruce this morning, I wouldn't have thought it was possible to have such a positive experience... but to my astonishment, I actually left happy. Bruce is smart, super funny and went out of his way to make sure that I had a good experience... and thanks entirely to him, I did.

This storage location was very odd to me. There’s not much professionalism or customer service. Never any workers around. The app never works to retrieve access in and out the gates. I had to physically get out of my car every time. The hours aren’t the best. I just minded my business and dropped off my things when I was there because I didn’t want to see or know anything more. Take pictures of how you left it. Also, there is no pro rate. If you enter a new month, you must pay rent for the entire month.
I cant believe how expensive it has gotten. We are a non profit and they give no discounts and that's fine. But I called 3 other places in Salem and their prices were a bit less. Our rent went up about $80. So I found a place on Highland Ave that $85 cheaper.
Excellent customer service from front office, always a clean and safe storage facility with plenty of carts and easy access. Highly recommend!

Called today with a billing issue and Bruce was WAY beyond helpful. walked me through my issues And even prevented me from hanging up the phone abroughly so that he could further help me. I was honestly thinking about switching Storage facilities to one with slightly better hours but because of Bruce I am staying because I know if there is an issue in the future Bruce will take care of it for me. Would highly recommend.

We were brand new customers who live right here in Salem the place is clean well located and easy to get to. Within a week of opening our account with them we ordered a 10x10 unit we lost the key to our lock. We were told that they don't keep cut off locking device on premise that someone would need to come in to cut the lock for us and that we would have to buy a new lock. So we purchased the new lock we went in we signed the order to have them remove the old lock and they put a zip tie on the lock to identify the one that was to be cut off. The person at the desk said that the person who does the lock cutting would be in the following week. We received a phone call that the person cuts the locks would be there on Friday last week. We went in today to bring some stuff over to store there and mind you it's empty at this point we've rented it for 3 . In any event the person didn't take the lock off on Friday and we were told today that we needed to be there while he was taking off the lock. However we received a phone call last week to state if you need to call us back please do but the lock will be taken off on Friday. When we got there today the person gave us another song and dance. We were so frustrated that we walked out we went to another place in town who provided above and beyond customer service and were able to bring our things we wanted to store right over.. their customer service was very bad and we were so disappointed I wish I could say something better but I can't.
Easy to get started and easy to maintain.
Jason was friendly and informative, and got us set up with our first storage unit.
Facilities are easy to access and clean. As far as customer service goes, I was very dissatisfied with the level of communication and professionalism from the onsite manager. I paid for a storage unit that upon arrival I discovered it had piping inside that took away from the square footage I was able to use. I was in a time crunch as I was moving state and discussed with the manager I was unhappy with the circumstances. I was moved out of the unit before the end of the month and then was charged another whole month after my things had been gone already for one week. I called and spoke to Jim and told him I wasnt happy and that I was hoping he could meet me in the middle on a deal for the inconveniences. He was unable to make up for the inconveniences that were caused and I remain dissatisfied with how business was dealt with. Unfortunately I am left to leaving a poor review which is not in my nature, but I am from a world of hospitality and this was no way to handle this situation. So here it is.
Best of luck to whomever has any future problems with this storage facility. It won't be resolved.
