I've been using this facility for many years and am taking this chance to acknowledge Lisa and Jasmin for the outstanding attention to customer service. I had an issue today with my payments and they went above and beyond to solve it for me. Great team!
I rent a storage unit in February the agreement fee was $215 including ins it’s been only 4 months only and yesterday I got an email saying that I will go up to $288 ridiculous out the blue they raised my unit I PERSONALLY DONT RECOMMEND THIS STORAGE very disappointed!!!!
Have a 7.5’ x 10’ unit. When I first moved in, it was $264/mo. (already very expensive). 6 months later they raised it to $286/mo.; 6 months after that, to $302/mo. and then now 6 months later $347/mo.!!! Yes, that’s right, +31% increase in under two years. Inflation by comparison is a third of that. Beware this is predatory pricing - they realize your switching costs are very high and they will continue this pricing raising strategy once you are in. Additionally, the hours are not as advertised. The attendants close 30 min earlier than posted hours because the "area is unsafe".
Countless times I drive all the way over there to find it closed (and the hours are very bad to begin with). Finally, this is right in the middle of an active drug usage area in Boston. On my last visit, a drug addict had made it through the gate and was shooting up right inside the facility. Talk about feeling unsafe for myself and belongings. Avoid this business at all costs.

Top-notch facility with a truly exceptional and dedicated manager in Lisa! She is SO helpful and a big reason why we keep coming back. The place is super clean, organized, smells good, temperature is stable, and, despite the neighborhood, it's very safe.
There are many more pros. But the biggest cons are the price increases -- which come about every 6 months; I *wish* I could pre-pay for a year or two to lock in the rate! -- and the hours. I wish it were open earlier and later as I've gotten stuck having to rush to get out before. They do give you good warning, but I still wish the hours were more flexible.
We've looked at Extra Space and a number of other storage options but continue to rent units from this location because of all the pros AND because of Lisa, who always greets us and remembers us and is SO helpful. Thank you Lisa!!

High security storage facility for an affordable price. Staff is TOP NOTCH. I showed up 3 minutes to close (6pm) and Lisa was super accommodating letting me unload, helping with pushcarts, and even showing me where the dumpster was (and unlocking it) so I could get rid of some trash I would’ve had to cart somewhere else otherwise. Thank you for everything!

Rent was due on the first I told Lisa after she gave me 2 storage units one with a sofa loveseat recliner, and 2 beds a king and full then had me take all the trash to the dumpster then clean the trash inside the dumpster area because since I was 3 days late that was the only way she said she was going to let us leave with our things from my unit 6047! Otherwise we would have to pay 215.40 mind you monthly my bill is 167 when I told her I was going to report her she denied everything funny though she must have been high because she’s on camera giving the keys to us us walking in the 2 different units also us inside the dumpster area ,regardless I ended up having to pay the 215.40 because by the time she said we couldn’t leave all my things were already out of my unit outside waiting for the movers that she refused to let in so ended up missing my pickup time of 11 and had to wait till 1:30 on top of EVERYTHING MICE ATE THREW SEVERAL BAGS OF MY BELONGINGS AND BROUGHT BACK ROACHES TO MY NEW HOME IN LYNN THAT I GOT FROM THE STORAGE UNIT!!WORSE PLACE WORSE TO RENT ESPECIALLY HAVING A WOMAN AS A MANGER WITH NO KIND OF CUSTOMER SERVICE EXPERIENCE!!

Lisa was super accommodating and helpful! We are auction buyers and won a unit that we were super excited to pick up, but had a bit of a time crunch and Lisa was able to make us feel calm and accommodate a pick up time that worked for both of us. Definitely recommend!!

Amazing experience. It's clean and safe place to leave your stuffs and forget about them. LIZA was a great person she helped us moving out of the storage beyond her working schedule and she stayed with us untill she was sure that we can handle the moving. I highly recommend this storage place.

They tripled my rate over three years and are advertising the same unit at 1/3 what I pay. They could care less if you are a valued customer that keeps a unit with them long-term. I recommend finding something else if you need storage beyond a few months.

For one don't like the lady at the service desk, to her everything is a bother or she has an attitude. Then on Sunday the hours says it closes at 5pm. I'm there at 430 on the dot just to get important papers out my storage, nope she had the doors locked already and didn't allow me in. I'm look for another storage
Cannot praise Tracy from this Public Storage location enough. I came late on Saturday evening to access my unit for the first time, and they had already closed, but she went above & beyond to help me finish my registration and get situated in my unit. She made the process quick & easy, and got me set up perfectly.

This was an easily accessible storage option for us right by Southie. The price was comparable to others, especially their introductory and online rates. Could've been five stars, but for three things:
The biggest drawbacks were the lack of building access, the complimentary carts and parking/loading area. With a gate and passcodes for everything being open roughly 9-5 every day isn't really that great of an option if you work 9-5. We had to rush a couple of times to get there before they closed.
And although the carts are complimentary, which is a major bonus that most places don't offer, they're kind of dangerous in that the wheels don't feel that safe and they look like they've been there a long time.
The only other thing we had issues with was the size of the loading area. At least twice we came and could barely get through because of larger trucks parked there blocking the entrances. When there are more than two cars/trucks back there unloading/loading someone from Public Storage should go out and direct traffic or make sure they're not blocking access to anyone else who shows up.

I've been renting a public storage at 290 South Hampton Street for a few years now. The place is very clean inside elevated access and always have the equipment to move your stuff they sell boxes tape rope and locked if you don't have your own lock the rates are very reasonable. The outside is clean very pretty very nice looking very to make the outside look more welcome. I must say I am very surprised by her knife the manager what Lisa is one of the best I think she deserve to raise if you work very hard. I have rented at two other storage places in the same area and I will not just those places I will not give out the names but they're less than a half mile I'm satisfied because the place is clean no break-ins and nobody overdosing or sleeping in the floor I recommend this place to my friends and family. Best storage facility I've ever used! Secure, clean, well laid-out and super easy access with the App on your phone. While this place is great all by itself, Lisa, the manager is 6 stars, and makes the whole process stress-less! She had super helpful tips when we moved out stuff in, and was great at making the move out easy when we didn't need the locker anymore. Will most definitely be my first choice for company and especially for this location.
It had already been a frustrating and stressful day when I chose the keepsakes for my storage unit. But the movers and I arrived 15 minutes after closing time. Thank God, Lisa was still there. She allowed as how we were such nice people she would let us in to drop our load and return in the morning to put the items away. While I waited for the movers, Lisa charmed us with her winning personality and regaled us with stories about her cat, Buddy.When the job was finished, we offered a small gratuity which she quickly refused. She said she was a people person and we were people. She was a joy, Thank you, Public Storage for having employees like the lovely, loquacious Lisa.
I have used this location for business and personal use for quite some time now. I find this location in Boston to be conveniently located along major roadways. The facility is extremely clean, and well lit. It is well maintained and recently had renovations. Lisa and Stephanie are professional, caring and upbeat. They have both helped me on many occasions and Lisa in particular can be found working most of the days I have been in. She is a hard worker and any professional organization would be lucky to have her. In fact they need to figure out a way to clone her so there are more people like her working there. Thank you!

Beware of the bait and switch after the introductory offers. Rates increased 150% in less than 18 months. The storage facility is also located in one of the most unsafe neighborhoods in Boston. Lots of open drug use and and stabbing's in the area.
