Place is a scam. Quoted me $150 for a 10x30 unit so I drove two states away to get my boat & bring it here. Upon arrival the price doubled to $270/mo. Rick, the guy that runs this place is wildly unprofessional, spoke in an extremely demeaning manner to me & others. As I was leaving, he was yelling at yet another customer. Avoid this place.

ABSOLUTELY AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE. Within 3 months of moving in my rate went up 25%. Nobody is EVER in person on site to assist with issues. I moved out on the last day of the month and they refused to cancel my payment for the following month. This place is the epitome of corporate greed. I highly suggest looking at smaller local storage places. I will never recommend anyone to use public storage, nor will I ever again. Absolutely, awful.

I came here to get my move paid and go through the process and was helped by Rick through the whole process and was really friendly. Recommend this place to get your storage. Also nice and clean environment.

WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE ever. Zero Stars!! Terri in the office is incompetent and dishonest. Upon entering the office she was abrupt. She had no knowledge of our appointment and claimed she couldn't see the price that I was quoted by the phone rep because it was locked in her computer system. I was quoted and reserved a non drive up climate control unit because supposedly that was the only 10x30 they had left. However, I wanted to see the unit before committing. When I arrived at Public Storage the next morning,Terri stated that she had two different units than were quoted and they happened to be exacly what I wanted...but she couldn't view my original reservation because it was locked by an employee in a different location. Then Terri said I can cancel your original reservation and give you the unit I just showed you. I said, "Wait.. Don't cancel it until you tell me the difference in cost. " Terri stated $130 per month with the same $1 deal for the first month. So I said okay. You can cancel that reservation and make the new one since the unit was so much cheaper. Terri canceled my original reservation and made the new one but the price instantly increased to $237 per month. I asked Terri what happened to the price she just quoted of $130 per month but she kept talking in circles. I asked to speak to her manager 10 times before she called someone who was supposedly filling in for her boss. Terri is a liar and she is incompetent. She repeatedly told me mistakes were made by their new employees who are going through training and conveniently omitted the fact that she quoted $130 per month for the new reservation to the "manager"who took the phone complaint. Do NOT use this company with incompetent staff and shady business practices.

Been here for 2.5 years—nothing but good service. The facility is clean, well-maintained, and secure. Not only one of the best-priced storage facilities around, but it has some of the friendliest managers I’ve encountered. My only minor complaint is the locked bathrooms in the climate-controlled storage space. Open ‘em up!

Location is fantastic, garages are great. Prices I would make sure your getting the best available deal they have no problem raising jt 100+ from the day before just because you are interested. They will claim its corporate, don't fall for it. They insist you leave the doors half way up for *Fire safety* If they had any education pertaining to fire safety. They would understand giving a fire air to feed off of. Would be catastrophic. Male who works here is bearable unfortunately he listens to Barbara, who at best wouldn't and shouldn't even be in a manager position. Not even at your local trailer park. She is Absolutely what issues this wonderful place has to offer and not offer. Her hostility and attitude towards the very ones who pay her salary to keep there items safe is deplorable. She picks and chooses who to target. Will be a Karen if she places her talons upon you. If you have any shade of skin color. We'll your not Baraba type. Just a heads up. I hope where ever she dropped from picks up their village idiot. I know somewhere is happy with her absence. Unfortunately if your anpaying public storage customer. It's probably not going to be you. If corporate actually had a say in their system. I truly hope this comes to light. This place could be a fantastic and is expensive. It's a shame they allowed their gears to be so below par. I hope this gets fixed soon (her) Facility is wonderful though but don't take my word for it, call barbara and ask for your self.

Terri and Jason are two shining examples of what we are suppose to be. Kind, knowledgeable And friendly.

Waited outside the office during open hours and no one was there. When someone finally showed up, 30 mins late, I walked into the office and the front desk lady decided to say hi to me and then pick up the phone to make a phone call to a customer rather than help me first. I waited there for 15 minutes while she talked on the phone. When she finally got off the phone she continued typing on her computer for another 5 minutes before deciding to help me. All I needed was to tell her that I put a new lock on my unit. It would have taken 5 seconds, but instead I waited almost 20 minutes. The customer service here is atrocious. They won’t help the customer standing right in front of them, but they will decide to place call to another potential customer and help them first.

Facility is nice, cause it is new. Here is my caution to long term rentals. Rates will double more than 2x in a year. There business model is based around knowing you have your things in storage and won't move them even if they increase the price. Increased 35% after 3 months, same after 6 months and over double after a year. Empty spaces all over but they are gouging those that want long term. Staff will "request" an exception to the price increase but get an automagic denial meaning corporate has it set to auto reject. They also put a control box 8 ft in front of my unit so we couldn't access with a truck as necessary Again, nice place but didn't care for how they operated things.

Clean. Good price if you go online, but, had to jump through many hoops. The first 10×15 unit that I rented measured 8.5 ×12. Really? Just be honest. Can I agree to pay you $100 a month and then just pay $66 no big deal then?

An amazing storage unit! I had never paid for a unit before, being a young college student, and I was met with so much kindness and help. Without even asking (I guess looked lost haha) an employee came out to help me and walked me through the entire place. He showed me how to use the keypads, the garage doors, and even walked me right to my personal storage space and showed me how to open it, use my lock, etc. Very nice place as well- kept up clean and organized. Wonderful place and very good prices/rates!!

I paid extra for a climate controlled facility, but every time I go in when its cold out, it's freezing inside & the thermostats are off. 30° & 32° inside is not really climate control. Meh. Updating my review because they have now twice raised my w/o prior notification & for some reason, even though I have notified them of my address change (over the one, in person & online) 4 times they still have my old one on file.

Went here for the first time and rented a unit. Extremely impressed with how I was treated and helped. Terry and Jason were outstanding. They offered excellent customer service. Spent time with me explaining everything and going over it all in a very professional and detailed manner. They made me feel very appreciated as a customer and they came across as very dedicated employees as well as kind and considerate. They are there to help you. The place was spotless and very clean and there was plenty of room to enter and exit. I highly recommend this place. I cant say enough good things about Terry and Jason as well. Wonderful experience.

I was helped by Rick at this location, though i believe he usually works at the Menorah location. I had payment issues and he was super helpful and communicative with getting everything figured out for me. I would definitely recommend public storage as the customer service has been incredible for me so far and the facilities are very clean and easy to use. Thank you so much Rick!

One of the best storage units I've ever used because it's fairly priced, has a handful of moving equipment you can use on site, and the staff are helpful+friendly. Highly recommend this place.

Only 2 stars because Terri in the office is a great representative. Facility is nice...rules are not maintained equitably, as in when I asked if I may begin my loading at their posted closing time, I was told no against the rules. However, the 2 trucks on site were not asked to leave, and the one entering ( after closing) as i left was not denied entry.... so why couldn't I finish my load outside of their posted time????

Beware they can raise your rent as much as they see fit. 30% with less than a 30 day notice. Customer service is horrible! I did a live chat with Keith about my concern. All he did was state facts about the contract. He couldn’t care less.

New facility, very clean, reasonable rates. Climate controlled spaces have drive through big enough for a U-Haul truck (though not big enough for all pro mover's trucks). Rick at front desk was friendly and helpful. Would recommend! Thanks!

Do not rent storage space from PUBLIC STORAGE. Since PUBLIC STORAGE purchased the (formerly Attic Storage at 15310 S Mahaffie Street) in June 2021, they have raised my rent on my 10’x20’ unit from $173.20/month in 1/2022 to $216/month in 4/2022 to $255/month in 3/2023. That’s a 47% increase ($81.80/month) in just 15 months. AND, the PUBLIC STORAGE (at 15310 S Mahaffie St) facility’s main security gate hasn’t been working since at least 11/2022…4 months and still not repaired exposing all the units to additional risk. When I spoke with Terri, the facility manager, and Rob, the district manager, their explanation was that they offer a low initial rate (presently $84/month discounted online from their regular rate of $103/month as of 2/24/2023) and then increase the rate from there. They state that, by contract, PUBLIC STORAGE can increase your storage space rent as often and as much as they’d like. I had been with them nearly five years and they wanted me to pay $255/month for the same unit at the same location one can rent today, as a new renter, for just $84/month. That’s THREE TIMES as much!!! I called PUBLIC STORAGE and asked them to maintain my $216/month rate; they were unwilling to negotiate at all—even after I spoke with three different people. Needless to say, I moved out! Then, today, 2/24/2023, after paying for my February 2023 rent on 2/1/2023 when it was due and after having received a receipt of payment with my check number on it indicating I was paid through February 2023 from Public Storage on 2/1/2023 and my move out receipt on 2/21/2023 that stated “You’re all moved out and settled up. We appreciate you making your final payment on [your storage unit]. There’s nothing else due at this time,” I received a call from Rob, the district manager, telling me they never received my payment and that they were going to turn my account over to collections. I think someone from PUBLIC STORAGE has misplaced my payment sent to them from my bank and received by them as evidenced by both receipts from PUBLIC STORAGE indicating receipt and that my account was paid in full-fully settled. Now their district manager, Rob, wants me to re-issue a new payment. If I don’t, he threatened to turn my bill over to a collections agency…and the bill was PAID! LET THE BUYER BEWARE….Avoid PUBLIC STORAGE on Mahaffie.

Summary Run as fast as you can from Public Storage. Most all the reviews listed are accurate representation when it was Big Bay Storage, once Public Storage took over went from 5 stars to 1 star. I never had issue when it was Big Bay Storage easy to work with and knew how to treat customers and take care of any issues timely. When turned to Public Storage was one nightmare after another. First issue with getting online account access to be able to open the gate, pay bills, and manage the account got thrown back and forth to working with property to the 1800 customer service with no help until decide that the only solution was to close me out and move me back in which took care of the online access issue. The second issue was created the rate was never accurate. The General manager told me with closing out and coming back they would fix my rate to 102 I was paying with Big Bay Storage. I finally after numerous phone calls got the first month updated. then second month I tried calling several times talked to property manager and 1800 line was told from property manager my rate was inaccurate and would contact general manager to get the rate updated. After over 5 separate attempts over two weeks before rent was due credit never applied or call back to let me know credit be issued or what the delay is in getting credits/ rate updated in the system, I have no clue how public storage is operating and the largest when from my instance was issue after issue. They are relying on people to not want to hassle with moving and just keep paying storage bills with non-existent customer service. I reiterated if issue was not resolved or update provided I would leave Public Storage. Public storage employees must not care or take me seriously. I provided a move out notice then called and wanted to see why was moving out, obviously no notes are kept when the customer calls and complains. Suggestion start tracking and notating calls. I will never rent from Public Storage after the issues had and they still over me 63 for when I had to pay higher incorrect rate to prevent from being locked out of my storage or late fees. The only item I will say Public Storage has one positive going for them is they have a nice app, my only suggestion in the app is to allow customer to see more details of credits and payments to allow customer to see how the amount due is calculated.

I ended up moving to this location from right down the street. The other units doors were too low for my items! Kelli was very helpful and ensured I was taken care of! She made the entire process easy and would highly recommend renting from this location! Thanks Kelli!

Best storage units in the Olathe area. I shopped around and they have best rates of all their competitors. Very clean and the safety and security of the storage units is exceptional. Deidre (Property Manager) showed me around the facility so I could decide on what size storage unit fit my needs and answered all my questions. She was extremely helpful and friendly. Great customer service. Will definitely recommend them to friends and family.

We got 9 inches of snow and i had to get to my storage. They didn’t plow any snow whatsoever. Ever since they switched ownership things have been different.
