I made a negative google review recently and within weeks, the rent on my unit was increased by $25! And this was the second increase in 6 months. Beware. Regarding the $29 administrative fee, I think this is a rip-off because it takes about 5 minutes for the manager to generate this lease and for the renter to sign it, and if you do the lease on-line, I don't there should be an admin. fee at all but there is. The rent on my unit is literally double now than what they're renting the same size to others. I think this is crazy and shows a lack of respect to me, a customer.

Terri was a very nice Lady!! She helps me a lot. The place is very organized and clean.
These are not temperature controlled, as they advertise. It's very hot in these units in the summer and I'm sure will be cold in the winter. Be careful if you reserve a unit on-line and get a good deal that the on-site manager doesn't jack up the rental price a little when you go into the office.
I have 4 UNITS at the Public Store (225 N Monroe St). I decided to MOVING OUT one of my biggest ones (15 x 14). I knew I needed to return it BEFORE the first day of the month so as not to be charged for the UPCOMING MONTH. But NOBODY explained to me I needed to leave the GATE OPEN (LIFT) when I made it EMPTY (I thought I needed to left close and give back the locker and keys).
I, my husband did all the work and emptied the UNIT on SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 29TH, 2024 - BUT when we finished that, NOBODY WAS AT THE OFFICE (CLOSED). So, I came back on MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 30TH to talk to the person at the Office (was a young lady, very sweet). BUT AT THIS TIME, in an unlucky situation, I COULDN'T find the key to open the Unit!!!! So, I came to this young lady, LAST DAY OF THE MONTH, and I explained to her, that my unit WAS EMPTY, and I was MOVED OUT from there. SHE SAID, "DON'T WORRY, BRING THE KEY TOMORROW AND I WILL HANDLE IT TO YOU. You will not pay for October, I guarantee".
BUT when I came back the other day (yesterday, October 1st) ANOTHER RUDE LADY (named Terry) couldn't believe me, or help me, or try to communicate with the young lady to see if I was telling the truth (I was). She said she would report to her boss, and later she called me saying I NEED TO PAY THE FULL MONTH OF OCTOBER when I had given it back nicely on the first day of the month THAT WAS A MONDAY (REMEMBERING ON SUNDAY THEY CLOSE THE OFFICE EARLIER).
The situation got worse when Terry called me and came very rude to me, didn't hear me, ignoring my position (I asked her to call her boss again and explain one more time what had happened, or talk to the young lady) - and suddenly SHE HANG DOWN THE PHONE ON ME! Very rude and I'm very disappointed with it.
So sorry.
Lady that helped us today was very friendly and helpful. Easy access to units. Was nice being inside out of the heat to get unit.

The site manager is prejudiced against black people. She yelled at our movers a company service most were marines extremely well mannered with courtesy and discipline. The manager kicked there drinks out of facility and told them not to leave their trash on the facility. You file complaints and they just get turned over to her. She calls and denies her behavior. Then if you are not standing by your empty open locker she yellow tags it and you can’t get in even when there are other open units all around. The manager did this to multiple people everyday since we have rented. She only allows 1 item at a time in the elevator can’t hold doors open while moving even if we left someone at the door. We have 4 of their largest lockers. This created a serious extension of time on movers to carry 1 item at a time in elevator. Mind you this is a freight elevator. She calls every number to complain to us but doesn’t bother to tell us she locked us out of our units. Then you have to cancel and get new units because she is never on property. 2 hrs every day as she states. She won’t answer the phone after hours it just goes to voicemail. Then manager only allows 1 cart per party even if there are no one else at the facility. Then there are bugs running all around facility.
Shawn went above and beyond today! We just dropped in on him at his Public Storage facility because NO ONE was at ours even though they had posted hours! Shawn came o er and opened our shop and got us keys to our unit!! SHAWN is amazing and needs a raise! Thank you so much for all you did.
It’s terrible. Don’t recommend. They have no communication and aren’t good at helping.

Never any carts, have to go only during business hours, can’t prop door to carry stuff, overpriced insurance required.
The person I dealt with, BriAnna, was extremely helpful and answered all my questions. She really went above and beyond. Everything looked clean and it was very welcoming!

DON'T EXPECT TO PAY THE RATE YOU AGREED TO FOR MORE THAN A MONTH OR TWO (IT SOON COULD BE TRIPLE!!!). I have rented at this location for almost 5 years. The new owners (Public Storage) have in my opinion a very scamy business. The current advertised price for a 10x10 unit on the ground floor is $66/month (which they say is a promotion from the strike-through price of $83/month). However, once you go through all the effort of moving your stuff to the unit they will start the constant and striking large price increases. If you're interested in a standard 10x10 unit be prepared to pay $199/month ($184 + $15 mandatory insurance fee).

This place is the best Public Storage from a customer services standpoint. I've visited numerous public storages and none come close to the level of hospitality. Rick, the property manager is a wonderful person with a very kind and honest heart, makes you like him instantly. during the tough times of moving from a thousand miles, I felt like this is the easiest and best service I've received. We had a difficult delivery of furniture on pallets to store in our unit and Rick jumped in and quickly and cheerfully helped me resolve the issue. He saved us from a second (really expensive) delivery charge. The facility is immaculate, the storage units are sturdy and clean, everything smells fresh, and the lighting and security made me feel safe. The prices are the best in the area as well. Highly recommend!

This is a great place to store. Unloading the truck was very easy w the elevator and carts. Everything was nice and new. Rick was beyond helpful. I also love that nobody is allowed into the until past 9 pm.
Rick took the time to show us exactly to our unit, he showed us the easiest and most convenient entrance for us and helped us get in to our storage and how to handle lock and keys! He went above and beyond his duties. We were there for a while and through out the whole time he stayed busy and cleaning and making sure everything was clean and tidy and presentable !

I strongly recommend public storage on Monroe street in Olathe KS. The storage units are priced right and the property manager Rick is super friendly and the service is excellent.
Walked in and Rick, the worker on site, was a big help from the beginning. He explained everything and walked us through how to locate, open, and lock our unit. He also showed us to the carts that helped our move in easier. Thanks to him, we were in and out in under 20 minutes.

So far, so good! I was enticed to this location by their promise of $1 first month rent. I completed the rental completely online. From reservation thru signing the contract then getting my code to move in.
The facility is very clean! Air is conditioned! Even tho u won’t be able to pull ur vehicle to the door of ur unit, it’s not far from the front door to ur space and they provide carts to help ya out. I’m pleased with everything about this place so far! The staff is friendly and helpful. Can’t ask for more than what a business promises. Public Storage on Monroe, in Olathe has been right on time with all of it! Don’t worry about a thing… give ‘em a call!

Was great when it was livewell but once public storage took it over it has gone downhill. I've taken multiple temperature readings and on the second floor it always read in the 40s.
Recently they say they mailed me a rent increase notice (I didn't get it in the mail) even though everything we have done prior to this was through email. So I was surprised to see that my rent increased and even more surprised to see it was a 25% increase!
So the service and quality has dropped but the cost has increased by 25%.
Stupid if they did modest increase I probably would have stayed in spite of declining conditions.
