What, nobody's going to say anything to me? Owner has no response to my real issues with his unit? Surprise surprise, a company is going to steal money for essentially doing nothing New update: I handed my key to the property manager so they could fix the seal on my storage unit. Nothing has been done, over a month later. What is the laziness for? Don't worry guys, I have an old blanket to stop splashing into my unit and ruining my memories. Never ever recommending this location. Not the sort of place you should keep valuables, apparently. Last time it rained, water went under my door and now my guitar is all wet. Won’t ever recommend, can’t wait to get all the things I care about away from this low effort place. Also why is nobody ever answering the phone when I call. Every single time. I genuinely don’t understand how this place is rated so well

Property manager is never available to answer questions tried leaving a message no response.

This is your warning to NOT rent from this place. Climate control is NOT climate controlled. Public Storage regulates a top temp of 80 degrees and these units are 82 degrees and over on hot days with humidity. If you have valuables in their units put them in another unit. The owner confirms that they do not follow Public storage guidelines. Their office is NEVER open as well. I have been there twice to return the used lock that I was charged $20 for as well as to provide proof of insurance that they are charging me for as well and NO ONE is ever there. They NEVER answer the phone as well and it takes days to get a phone call back but thats only if you threaten legal action. The minute I put my things in this "climate controlled" unit, I regret it. That was less than a month ago and now I have to hire movers to move my stuff again. Slum lord in Johnson county ks. They have 1 job and to be honest I just cant believe that their 1 job can be that difficult. This shouldn't be so complicated. Avoid the stress , because storing your things should not be stressful. Rent storage from somewhere else. Physically go in to see the temperature of their storage units. Call them to see if they answer the phones. This is purely a money grab by a con artist.

I have been at this location for 20+ years when it was operated by Security Storage. Since Public Storage took it over late in 2023 my rent has gone up +40% (+$178.00) in 8 months. We lost 24 hour access. The facility used to be staffed and well maintained. Now you'll rarely find anyone there. The grounds have not been maintained, vines and bushes growing over the fence, broken unsecure fence, all for a 40%+ rate increase. My same unit can be rented at a 60% discount of what I am currently paying. This company obviously doesn't want long term clients.

I reserved a unit 4 months ago and set up autopsy on the app. Got a text the next month that pent was not received. Paid it and set up auto payy again (clicked the button to on) and drove to unit to speak to manager who said that they will ensure it was on. Next month got an email saying I was 2 weeks overdue and was charged $40. Customer service hung up in me refusing to understand that I had autopsy. Turned autopsy on again in the app and it still hadn't been charged to my account after 4 days, app says auto pay is off even after receiving email that autopsy is registered Top it off, just received email that monthly rent has increased. No warning, just an increase I work for a moving company, and everyone that moves out has a complaint!

Eric is knowledgeable, kind, and patient. I think I asked him at least 50 questions, some weren't even about public storage, and he still helped me. Thank you Eric.

Erik answered all my questions and concerns especially since I am relocating to the area. Everything he told me was really helpful.

My wife and I had been looking for a secure storage facility to keep my nana's possessions since she passed away. We looked at a few places but did feel comfortable at them. When we got to Public Storage, a guy named Eryk helped us and put our minds at ease. He made us feel that our families memories would be safe and secure. We just wanted to let him know that we appreciated everything he did for us!

Eric was knowledgeable, polite, and extremely helpful with all my questions. I would definitely recommend using this location’s services again.

Security Self Storage is a great place--clean and safe. I really appreciated all of the interactions I had with the staff there. The 4 years we needed storage for my mom's items went really well!

I just rented a unit yesterday. I was surprised that I was first given a ride around the property and Jim showed me the unit to make sure it would fit my needs. The whole process was painless and quick. The price is less than what I'm paying now and it's climate controlled. Plus 24hr access.

The manager and assistant manager were awesome to work with. I was going through a very stressful situation in my life and needed help to get through it. These people went above and beyond to provide the assistance that I needed to get me in the best unit that was the most cost effective for me, I appreciate all of their efforts. This is an awesome place and a very clean place and a very well kept place to rent.

I would highly recommend this storage facility. Kimberly sets a high standard for cleanliness, security and ease of use. I love the 24 hour gate security access, the grounds are always kept clean, the interior unit is brightly lit and I feel safe while visiting the unit. After renting a unit for almost a year here I have been very impressed with how the facility is run and the care they put into customer service and the grounds.

It has been more than 10 years since we became renters with Security Self-Storage on College Blvd. in Overland Park and during that entire time we have received outstanding service in an excellent facility. The rental units are clean and convenient. The accessibility is great and the staff first rate. The price is appropriate and I would recommend them without reservation.

I wish I would of found this place sooner, but I'm glad I did. There's not many 24 hour access self storage facilities in the area and was of high importance for my use. After meeting Kimberly to show me the property on a storage unit and her attention to detail I knew this would work out. She answered all my questions, polite, and very helpful. The site is clean and feel safe/ secure knowing Kimberly has a long history working here. I would highly recommend to anyone.

I have used Security Self-Storage over the past year for my business. I have found it very clean and well maintained. The staff Jim & Kimberly very professional and responsive and Helpful to my needs. I have used other storage facilities and this is one of the best I have used. Over last few years I have used this storage facility multiple times while downsizing and relocating. The facility is clean, secure and professionally managed. I initially used the facility primarily for the location, however during our multiple moves around the area we always came back here.

Who starts charging rent BEFORE unit inspection and lease is signed? THIS company does. Reserved my unit online and paid in good faith that unit would be held. Went in 10 days later to sign lease, but was told that rental charges started 10 days prior to me signing a lease. I requested a cancellation and refund, but was told NO refunds. This place was charging $67 per month for a 5x5, found a place down the street for $27 per month. BEWARE!!!
