Robin gave me a welcome call. She was very polite and she explained to me about the kiosk in the office and the app on the phone where I could pay my bill and several other things that I can do on my phone. She also told me that the number that she called me from that I could call them 7 days a week they are there if I had any questions.
Robin was great and funny.
Great and safe
Ok so this cool very professional lady named JAZMINE or Jasmine. I didn't get the spelling but she's the greatest!!!!!!
PLEASE DONT RENT FROM THIS PLACE… OUR CAR WAS STOLEN OFF THE LOT IN OUR RENTED CAR SPACE. NO ONE HAS TOLD US ANYTHING. BRANDY HUNG UP ON US WHEN WE CALLED TO ASK QUESTIONS PLEASE BEWARE THIS COMPANY IS A SCAM.
Edit: Shortly after submitting review, a representative reached out to address my concerns and offered to restore the previous price. I bumped up from 1 star to 3 star for the effort and gesture but overall they would have my business if the whole pricing structure was more transparent. They claimed that price fluctuates based on "factors" like occupancy and so forth like they are some kind of hotel. That might make sense for the price they offer prospective clients, but certainly not a great justification for existing customers.
Be warned that they will lure you in with "online rate" that seems very attractive: $60 for a 10'x15'. After 6 months the rate increases start. Jumped to $83. Also note that you have to buy $15/month insurance through them or find your own on top of that. At no point did they misrepresent themselves in terms of guaranteeing that rate for any specific period, but they were not upfront about the rate increase schedule. IMO, the online only pricing is a scheme to get you to quickly reserve a unit without opportunity to poke at their policies. I'm ok with an upfront scheduled rate increase, I get it, promotional periods are commonplace, but the out of nowhere email that rates are going up is not acceptable to me. I think their model is to get you in and wait long enough for you to get all your stuff packed in and then they slowly start bleeding you with rate increases. $20 at first might not be enough to warrant going through all that effort to move your stuff. Give it enough time and I'm sure the rate would reach $120 or higher. Consumer beware, just know what you're getting yourself into.
Chris did an excellent job of providing information about app and kiosk she was really friendly and helpful
Transaction went very smooth, from beginning to end. I got a welcome call from the property manager Chris to make sure everything went smoothly and to offer assistance if needed. Highly Recommended.
Avoid using this place, even if you move out a few days after the first of the month, they will charge you for an entire month. They should prorate your account. It was explained that I could do this and fount out I couldn't. That is terrible business practice.
Thanks you Robin
This review is for Public Storage off E. Washington St. Indianapolis Indiana. I say that because I see too many 4-5 star reviews and think it can't be my new location.
Initially I see on their website they have units available near where I needed that were inside. Inside makes you think climate controlled right? Since most of the time (all of the time in my experience) it being inside is indeed a climate controlled facility. Price wasn't terrible and it was close. I get to facility and am on the "do it yourself" kiosk and get an off site employee (even though they definitely have live on site tenants) to pop on the screen to help and before I can tell her what I am looking for , she disconnected the call. Had she stayed and actually helped, I would not have wasted my time or money. Turns out my inside unit was just that... Inside a building but absolutely not temperature controlled. Instead, it smells so horrible like smelly dirty people's trash and rotting food that they actually have a fan above the entry way doors blowing air outside. Rat droppings inside my unit, got charged $19.99!!! for a lock I didn't need (I assume so they have a set of keys to snoop through your belongings) and no option to opt out of said lock.
I only had my moving van for a short time due to the availability and it being reserved later in the day, so no time to find another facility. Storage of America down the street only had 2nd floor units available and while inside and temperature controlled, I know they don't have an elevator and you gotta carry your belongings up the stairs. I would carry my stuff 10x over to not feel as sick to my stomach as I do about leaving my stuff there yesterday. Access only until 9pm, and when signing up on kiosk, they scan your ID but it doesn't input any of your information on the application/renters agreement requiring you to peck away inputting it all in manually. 3 stars is gracious I feel. Hopefully today I can get reimbursed and move to a different facility. (Will update soon as I feel I am forgetting something else)
Booking my storage unit was quick and easy. Robin called to confirm that I was able to set everything up and asked if there was anything she could do for me.
Robin called me to make sure our experience met our expectations and it surely did!! The kiosk was very easy to use and everything went very fast! Definitely recommend using Public Storage
Robin
The process was easy
Rude and impatient
Great prices and I love how you can sign up at the kiosk right there on the spot. As soon as you’re done, they send you which unit is yours and inside the unit is your new lock and key. SUPER EASY AND CONVENIENT!!! Not to mention the app allows you to open the gate without ever having to roll down your window!
It would be EXTREMELY HELPFUL if someone was on the premises. They do have a office there, but nobody's home.🤬
Elle was a great help I really appreciate her thank you
Miss Elle is always so helpful when I have any issues with my unit
Ms.Ellie is amazing!!! Everytime i come in she's always a friendly and attentive, she gets me in and out so fast!
Only downfall... No carts to transfer heavy items to inner storage spaces
I was sick for a few weeks after renting the unit so didn't get there to put a lock on. They told me over the phone that they would put a lock on but not to worry because I could come in any day before 6 and they would take it off. I was planning to move some stuff tonight and I got here about 15 minutes before 6 and there's a random sign on the door that says sorry they are closed today. I called and talked to a rude person from corporate who decided that all of it is my fault and started asking me questions like, "What time did you get off work today?" Um, why does that matter when they are supposed to be open and I can't get in the unit that I paid for? I asked the rude lady if I could cut the lock off and she said "no, that would result in a judgement against you" For a $5 lock? (I paid $168 already for the unit, so wow.) I left a message for the manager so I'm sure that's going to get me somewhere. I have rented from Storage of America down the street many times and NEVER had a problem, but they were out of units. There's probably a reason they were out of units and this place wasn't.
*update: 5 months after renting, my rent went up by $42/month!
