Maria or her boss actually called Des Plaines police on a Waukegan, Chicago and Cook County, police chaplain.
She told them that I was there for an excessive amount of time.
I asked the 2 officers if I could show them my Uber app.
It said that I arrived 75 minutes before and I also showed them receipts for items purchased.
They laughed and said that I was free to go.
I did straight across Busse Highway to Metro storage.
Awesome people.

I must share the most AMAZING experience..ever! The Des Plaines location is truly a shining star...Maria-manager , I believe, has been so incredible with knowledge and customer servicing that it's almost pain free to rent storage! She ALWAYS goes out of her way to assist, no matter how busy she is, or even if its past her shift time...she always comes thru!!! Even tho this storage unit is under my daughters name, we have the same last names. As I am getting older, and tiring, I am now on oxygen 24/7 due to an illness, and I do become concerned without items and where we will store them-for awhile-however I always find myself going back to Public Storage-however only when I meet up with a great customer servicing management, as Maria! I have been approached by competitors in the self storage industry...but due to Maria's kindness I shall remain at this location.

Been here for over 3 years multi units rented and they always raise the rent let two months pass and they will raise the price on you and claim they cannot lower it but they will rent other units out of the same size for much less. I no longer have any good things to say about Public Storage.

I had 2 units in Public Storage for about 2 years. My daughter had another unit for herself at the same time. We were both very happy during the entire length of our rentals; the entire facility was very clean each of the many times we were there. Maria was especially helpful each time we called for information or visited our storage units. We would definitely highly recommend this facility!

Place is always clean and quiet. Easy to park and load/unload as long as you're smart about planning your trip (last weekend of the month in the summer isn't the best idea, that's the busiest for all self-storage). Even then when I've had to come during busy times, nobody fights for carts and everyone is pleasant.

The majority of the time when I'm here, the office is closed. But, if you happen to be there when the office is open, any one of the Customer Service Reps. will be there to help and answer any questions that you have. Or, if you're just there to take a look at different storage units, they are more than happy to help. This facility is always clean, even in the winter time and the bathrooms are always spotless.

UPDATE: After posting reviews, the owner sent an email delaying the price increase for 3 months until 07/01/23. While I appreciate the offer, I'm still unsure why the company can't implement a business model that accurately predicts costs in order to maintain rates at or near the level first rented. Thanks for extending the date and I hope the July increase will be a more reasonable amount. Cheers.
Buyer beware. It is standard procedure for this Public Storage location to arbitrarily raise its rates by significant percentages. I've only been in my storage locker since mid-October 2022 and they just raised my rate from $196 to $268 (37% increase in less than 6 months). There are MANY Better Business Bureau complaints against Public Storage for this practice but the company couldn't care less about its customers based upon their canned response. I will definitely be looking for alternative storage options as I don't support unethical shady business practices. This particular facility is very clean & well run but its "bait & switch" tactic should be illegal. I forecast a class-action lawsuit in the future.

But have to say outta mist places n been a few over years lady who worked there 1 of the friendliest n most helpful my buddy had a problem somebody else did when sighing up for unit initially not sure but mary? MARIA !! I THINK TOOK CARE OF IN MINS LITERALLY FIXED ALL N SHOWED N MOVED W US 1 TO ANOTHER UNIT GREAT GIRL !!! DONT MOVE IN HERE - GO ACROSS THE STREET TO METRO - WAY BETTER SERVICE
Moved in April 2022. Rental agreement was for 140/month with insurance for 10x15 unit (measure your units people - my 10x10 at my new place is the exact same size)
Rent went up 47$ on my 7th month (October) - they said it was regular increases to reflect market increases. I'm sorry but on what planet do market increases go up over 30% overnight? Quantity over quality company just looking to make money.
Please note: there is a section in the contract for renting that says "prices are subject to increase with 30 day notice". I figured that meant $5-$10 - clearly it means any amount.
Maria, Tracy and Todd reached out to help fix this which was great (i'd give them all 5 stars). My rent was guaranteed to stay this way THROUGH MARCH
Bill for Jan 1 received in December was $180 - going up again ay? Reached out to Public storage and HAD NO CONTACT REAGARDING THIS WHATSOEVER - not even a warning that it was going to go up which they typically do via email - NOTE: raising prices without notice is illegal.
Left messages - no responses.
Scheduled move out Dec 15 - still heard nothing. After I cleared my unit and went to the office to make sure I didn't need to do anything else, the woman at the desk asked, "How was everything while you were here?"
I told here it was bad and she said she saw some notes on my account. I asked her if there was anything that could be done regarding being refunded for days I was not there. She said she would see what she could do...... Still have heard nothing from the company.
Again - Metro Self Storage is right across the street. They have promotions just like public storage. Prices are slightly higher. It is privately owned so no corporate BS. I was introduced to several workers there who were all engaging and kind.

But this place is so well maintained it's so clean the staff is so friendly I especially have to give a shout out to Maria because any questions that I had ever she was always there and always helpful. Not terribly well run. Climate control worthless many things have gotten moldy. Had dumpster brought in to clean out mold and by the time I got there (next day) they allowed others to use and was half full

The employees are great. Sarita was very helpful. The facility is clean and well maintained. The cost of my unit increased 4+ times over the last year to almost double which is expected given the current state of the economy but it just was not sustainable for me long term.

This location is perfect for us. The lot is easy in and out from less busy Busse Hwy. Liked the self-service signups and move in process very much. Love the eRental discount!. Brand new building with "just sufficient" ambient lighting is inside, which is a bit of a strain on my old eyes. My cell signal is not available inside, which was an issue at move-in for me. Only complaint is that the overhead doors conceal the presence of vehicles that are already inside. This presented an awkward exit from the garage today, as another car had just pulled up behind me as I backed out. The distraction caused a near miss of the keypad post outside of the door. All-in-all, I am satisfied the storage facility is safe and secure.
Update: new overhead doors with transparent panels have resolved my only issue with the facility.
Jin - was so helpful and humorous and gives great Customer service...he personally escorted us to our unit and reviewed the security system with us. I would highly recommend this location and this representative of Public Storage!

New and clean facility, but they need to work on their elevators because they always sound like they are are falling apart. They also keep rates low and then after a month or two they hike the rates by $50.

Completely straight forward, no BS. Here's a tip: call your homeowners insurance provider to check if they cover you for off premesis storage. Mine did and i was able to opt out of the expensive Orange Door insurance Public Storage offers. This particular property offers a really nice enclosed drive in area so we're covered during cold and rain!
