I went to Public Storage today, and when I tried to leave, the gate wouldn’t open—it said "gate is offline." We called every customer service number possible, but no one picked up.
The interesting part is that as we were about to leave, a woman walked in while the gate was supposed to be “offline”. It was strange because she must have had a special code to get in (I bet she is an employee), but I didn’t know the gate wouldn’t open for us yet, so I didn’t ask her for help.
The moment I put in my code to leave, I got the "gate is offline" message. I yelled for the woman to help us, but she had disappeared. There was no staff in sight, and we were stuck.
We called customer service repeatedly—still no response. In desperation, we called the cops. They came but couldn’t break in since it wasn’t considered a “life threat”. In the end, the cops help us climb over the gate to escape.
This is a huge safety hazard. Locking customers inside a storage facility should be illegal. If any lawyers are interested in taking this on, please reach out—I don’t even want compensation, I just want to stop this from happening to anyone else. It’s absolutely insane that a company can trap people like this. The one reason why I made it out is because i’m fit. If i wasnt in shape there’s no freaking way i’d have been able to climb myself out. Crazy!

I do not recommend this Public Storage. The customer service is non-existent, if the representatives are even present. There are other more viable options within the area. I would not rent from this location.

Absurd fake ratings for this dump. If you eat all your meals at Arby’s and Carls, Jr, you’ll fit right in here cause the place is fast food trash, not even normal trash. Gross gross gross. No carts, onerous policies (no pro rata) what an unmitigated disaster and waste of money. staff is reasonably nice and no fault there but they are unempowered to do anything. Good luck.

This place has a good location however I have encountered horrible situations with the homeless population that lives/sleeps inside the empty units. I even saw once one on the third floor taking a "shower" with water buckets. They dont seem to care they dont even clean I have sen the same dead cockaroaches for the last month I have been there. Staff is nice but they need to get their act together here it is discusting for such an expensive property to rent a unit. atleast 10 homeless roam in the 3rd floor of the climate controlled building and loiter and sleept there.

The elevators aren’t great, you can’t hold them while loading. I was also charged in the beginning of the month, and not like I was told at the office (after 30 days)
Not safe: Homeless people sleep in the empty units in this facility. Only one cart to use for the entire facility. The place is riddled with cockroaches. If you want your items to have cockroaches when you take them out then this place is for you!

Look, it’s a Public Storage in downtown Miami so, yeah, the decor is a little rough. But I haven’t had any safety concerns and the staff is friendly and helpful, even if they are overworked.

The building is kept clean and the elevators are in working order always. The staff is very helpful and understanding. And very kind.
The female customer service representative should be retrained and monitored about sarcastism toward customers. Public storage should have several traveling supervisors pretending to be customers to catch their employees being disrespectful. She created a hostile environment because she were asked questions about the storage. I would not recommend this storage location to anyone.
It's an ok storage unit, but, my son needs his refund on a second storage unit we don't need.
The USPS on the other side of the street didn't have a big enough box for our parcel. So we got sent here and were helped more than excellent and with a smile by the lady working there. Forgot her name, but want to thank her. All our items arrived in one piece due to her help packaging it.
I needed to store my things for a couple months while moving and this place was perfect in terms of the location. Staff is really professional, check in and paperwork took about 15 minutes, check out was easy as well and I did it online without even going to the office. Other than that, it is a storage ... you get an empty room with 6am to 6pm access.

This Public Storage is in a very convenient location downtown with reasonable rates. Parking is available, which is not commonly found at storage facilities nearby. Also, I want to mention Laquette, who is an associate at this location. Laquette is extremely friendly and has been very helpful since we moved into our unit. I'm very satisfied with the service at this location!
