They say they’ll reimburse you for the lock if you purchase your own, and that they charge you $19.99 a month for the one they provide you…. But I can’t find that specific lock anywhere. It’s a brass cylinder lock, I feel like they purposely chose that lock to charge people. Unless I’m wrong, does anyone have any recommendations with where I can find that certain lock checked online, Home Depot, Walmart and ace hardware.
Also they wanted to charge $100 for a 10x5, when I said no, they miraculously found a better deal for $65. Which I’m not complaining about but maybe be careful and don’t immediately say yes to the deal. Aside this, I like location and how well kept it is :)

We have had a larger unit since the building opened. Started out reasonable and the building and facilities were awesome. Staff was and have always been very helpful, polite and accommodating. Then sadly the “corporateness” took over and the rent started steadily going up about $100 each time with no or minimal improvements. The latest rent hike put us close to $600…which is crazy for not even having a light bulb!
I feel any updates “to the building” over the last few years were to fix doors or add measures to control unauthorized access. Unauthorized users have destroyed the bathrooms to the point they’re not usable; there is always trash and unattended vehicles parked inside the facility all day. I’d be afraid to go there at night! We’re done. Easily found similar options at another location a few miles away.

Recently moved out. Found an identical space for 111.00 less per month.! Strongly suggest reading your lease. Why anyone would want to ?? Anyway, upon moving out, realized the “10x10” space I rented for the last two years was actually 10’ wide, 7’7” deep and 9’2” high. Essentially paying for 100 square feet and actually getting 76 square feet. TAKE A TAPE MEASURE. It will say in your lease sizes are “approximate”. Plus or minus 25 square feet is absolutely ridiculous. When you move out, you WILL NOT receive a pro-rated refund. Also in the lease…
Storage may arguably be one of the most corrupt businesses there is.?
At this location, don’t expect any help from office. If anyone is even there, or not locked in office. Rest rooms rarely available, must complete a background investigation to borrow a cart. This location is in a poor location, inundated with homeless. Overall an extremely poor experience. Lesson learned, so many better options.

Nice facility but a stupid management/handling fee and charge to use their locks was a bit much. Only one person working there so if you need someone and they’re with another customer you just have to wait outside until they eventually show up.

Location is clean, and it's nice that the storage unit is climate controlled. However it's hard to park inside when there's a few cars. We got a unit for about $75 a month but they doubled it within the year to $142. When I tried to contact them they never answered or returned my call. I'm very disappointed with them for raising our prices almost double. I did not know until recently that in the contract they can raise prices as often as they want after 30 days.

Every time we're here we get wonderful customer service. Today the staff saved us money on our current unit, then helped us save on a new unit. Always a pleasure.
1. Terrible customer service from the beginning.
2. Something was broken (door, elevator) 3/4 of the time we had a unit.
3. The hours are very limited and more limited on the weekends, when the most people were there.
4. Their carts are in dire need of simple maintenance that they never got and using them was very frustrating.
5. As we were moving out over a week, there was a vehicle that never moved and a man was just sitting in for days...he was LIVING there and the office was just letting it happen.
Go elsewhere.
Edit January 2024: I never left Public Storage. I was trying to just get rid of stuff overtime. They’ve increased the rent again. This is a shady and predatory practice. I don’t understand how this is legal. Currently advertised price for my unit is $70 per month with a locked in price when you sign up online. They also charge a $15 insurance. My prices below include that.
Timeline-
Sign up November 2022 - $104/month
June 2023 - $137/month (38% increase)
February 2024 - $176/month (69% increase)
As you can see in about 1 year my price increased $72 per month or 69%. If you’re looking for a storage company to take advantage of you then Public Storage is the place.
Original Review June 2023: I’ve been a customer for 6 months and my rent was increased 38%, which feels like a bait and switch. I assume they’re hoping that no one wants to go through the hassle of moving their belongings again and will just accept it.
I talked to the local property management and they have been nothing but friendly and helpful. Unfortunately they are constrained to what corporate dictates. And after talking with corporate they were still not willing to honor the original price even after confirming that the original price was above market.
Public Storage has lost me as a customer.

My facility did a security upgrade that I was unaware of and I could not get access to my floor. My access code worked fine, but the elevator would not allow me to go to the basement, due to the fact that there was another group on the elevator at the same time my access code was entered. Therefore, the code and floor did not match so it blocked me from accessing any floors. I was helped in a timely manner and the problem was resolved quickly. It was nice to know the security advancement and the relief of having peace of mind that my personal belongings are safe.

Definitely not EVER using them again. They change the rates without any notification whatsoever and then tell you they are not obligated to tell you. People on a budget would be better off not going here. Seems like dishonest business tactics and theivery.
My only concern with this place is that the front gate has been broken for months and months. They don't seem to be making any progress on it, or plan to. This greatly impacts access. You can only drive in between 9:30am and about 5ish when they close the exit gate. I will be happy to change my rating if this issue is ever addressed.
You can see by their response that they have no intentions of ever fixing that door. Keep the false advertising in mind when renting. I lowered my rating further for the very fake response.

On October 21st at 2pm my husband and I went to Public Storage to get some things out of our unit. There was an older blonde female receptionist who is so incredibly rude to us that it made me want to close our account right then and there. We needed assistance and she talked down to us the entire time. I don’t believe that this woman should be allowed to treat paying, loyal customers like that. Also, it’s been months and the front bay door to get in is still broken and now the elevator, the only means to getting to your unit, is broken. This place is falling about and seems like finances are being mismanaged.

I have been there since April of 2023. My husband passed a few months ago and we needed to store his belongings. A friend of mine usually goes with me because I can’t move things. There has been 3 incidents where an older woman who i assume is the manager or supervisor and for some reason she picks on us every time we go there. Two times where I witnessed it. I feel that it has been racially motivated only because of how she talks to us. She screamed for us to move our car accidentally we were over the lines and instead of asking she demanded and yelled over and over. Today she approached us as we were about to load the elevator telling me we couldn’t put our motorcycle in because we aren’t on the 1st floor. And I wasn’t aware because initially we were just told er had to empty the gas tank and that’s all. That part I understand. How ever she proceeded to accuse us of parking the bike recently somewhere prohibited even though we had just gotten it back bc it was stolen. I’m beyond disgusted at how rude she was. All she had to do was talk to us and let us know respectfully. And because of this I will be taking my business elsewhere

Lying thieving company. Can't get anyone to help you on customer service either. Do not rent a unit here, it's dirty, and the way they conduct business is deplorable. I made a reservation online for a 10 × 10 unit, when I got there my codes didn't work. I had to wait for a person to eat me in, then I get in and go to my unit and my unit was wide open, and dirty... Besides it being open and dirty it was also only a 10×5. I told the lady at the front and she said that's all they had. I said I will not be moving into a too small dirty unit and closed my account and left. Contacted customer service and was told I wouldn't be charged, well of course they charged me the price of a 10×10 not a 10×5 and now are refusing to give me a refund. Also their customer service is ridiculous and their people are rude and refuse to answer any questions. Overall a trash company, would not recommend. Go right up the road to extra storage and get the right size unit for a better price and have much nicer employees help you.
We were in and out thanks to April and Brenda. I came in yesterday to see a unit and again today to confirm with my significant other to reconfirm storage space. They both were quick and efficient which was good since we have to get things packed up for a move this month. Thanks again!

Amazing customer service
I have had my unit since the start of Spring and the service I have received has only gotten better. I needed to upgrade in size and Heather helped get ALLLL of my questions answered and really eased my stress. I am really happy with my choice to stay at the Janitell location! My belongings are safe and I can real feel that the staff cares. Thank you Heather!
Been using our storage units at the Janitell location for some months now and have had a great experience so far! The staff are always friendly and always helpful. Especially Anthony! Can’t complain. Would definitely recommend.

I wasn't feeling good about renting this unit until I talked to the manager Anthony; he helped me understand the more important details about the rental; but he was also friendly, kind and human. Those qualities are missing in a lot of people these days. Thanks Anthony!
It's fine for stuck in elevator
The Property Manager Anthony is Fantastic! Very friendly, funny, and hard working. There was no carts left in the general area and he started running all over the facility, on his lunch break, to find me one. I really appreciated the extra mile he went. Shoutout to Anthony!

Absolutely fantastic. If I wasn’t moving so far north I’d definitely use this facility again. Anthony is a wonder to work with and is extremely kind and helpful. My stuff was safe the entire time here. The dollies they have for use are super convenient. The price was the cheapest I was able to find for the climate control storage. I’d give more stars if I could! Thank you Anthony and the team!
Managment seemed very inexperience, uninterested, and didn't seem to have any concerns about our needs. Facility was very dirty and staff not helpful usually. Had issues paying our bill and did not receive a call back for 5 days regarding my inquiry.
I love the storage unit here it's safe it's always clean, and the manager Anthony is always very polite and knowledgeable and he's been a great help to us thank you again Anthony!

It was OK. Before it became Public Storage, the carts were ALWAYS near the elevator /office. I saw a man, assuming the manager and I asked where the carts were, he was busy with a couple, he pointed down the hall, said he didn't know and I could look down there!! I ended up going on the elevator to every floor and walking each floor to find a cart! I don't know the layout of the building, 15 minutes later, I found 3 carts in an area far from my vehicle!
The Manager, Anthony would of NEVER allowed this to happen, he would have the carts ready for people or he would go find them!! That's when it was Storage 365. That's why I got storage there, it was different than all the others. Now it is owned by Public Storage, it's messy and seems unorganized. But Anthony is still the Manager, that's great! I just don't think he has a good company to support his management skills. Too bad. Now the rates have gone up, only about 3 months after Public Storage bought it!! Not sure how long I will keep my storage unit. 😏
I was in there earlier. I did not end up renting as I am just shopping around right now but thanks to how helpful Lily was, I will definitely be renting here if I end up needing too! She was so helpful. She answered all my questions and was really patient and understanding. She is the epitome of great customer service!

Brenda and Anthony were a huge help and made the entire storage experience so painless and easy. They keep the place tidy and it just smells clean the moment you pull in. Clear direction and very helpful I highly suggest you choose this facility if you need good storage and people
To pay the high price and then be treated rudely when you go to use your unit not acceptable at all and also called for a supervisor and never received a call back. If I could give no stars I would. Terrible service.
UPDATE: Management reached out and I feel like they are going to make sure the service is alot better and I will give them the opportunity to do so. So far so good
