West Hollywood Storage Units Near the 101 and Hollywood Forever Cemetery

9/23/24 Updated: I wanted to write an updated review. Honestly, any staff I’ve interacted with have always been nice…but nothing like Dana.
I had gone to my storage to work on downsizing to potentially get a smaller unit. Or just clear it out all together because my monthly rent keeps going up, I’m paying more for my storage than for my car payment! But when I talked to Dana today to discuss downsizing, she was the one who brought up seeing if she could help lower my rent. And by the time I was leaving she’s gave me the good news! I am so grateful for her, and honestly will probably ask for her every time I need assistance here.

This location is convenient for me, and I’ve been with them for a couple years now but they keep trying to raise my rent to some random amount that is different than what they are renting my same sized unit for online.
I don’t feel it’s right, I’ve spoken to someone at the location when they first tried to raise it and she helped me to go back to what i was paying which was very helpful. But now they’re trying to raise it again without even telling me and threatening me with a preliminary lien because i don’t feel i should pay the raised price and only paid what I’ve been paying.

This place is a joke. Do not use this place. They don't enough carts for four floors. They have 3 carts and they are always being used. We have come on different dates and times and they never have enough carts, you have hound then for it We asked th employee and she said they don't want to buy anymore because they are expensive. Even though we are paying an arm and a leg for the unit. Also they have only one person working at a time, this just just a cluster mess. The manager should be fired and new carts!!!!!!

I have been using this storage facility for many years. They are clean, safe, easy to access, and the staff is very helpful. I recently had an issue that Lou, the manager, was able to straighten out quickly for me. I recommend them highly.

Someone hid in the hallways at Public Storage and broke into our unit after hours. They literally kicked the locking mechanism til it bent inward allowing them to roll up the door and steal from us. They had hours and hours to dig into our belongings overnight. The next day, the Public Storage employees had no help for us and didn’t replace the door. A few days later while our unit was not lockable, they hammered the door back and claimed it was then ok and usable. No recompense for their lack of security and lack of action. Of course, we moved out.

I have a couple of units with Public Storage and appreciate the staff at both of my locations. Moving my things into the Santa Monica Blvd location with help from Sailboat was a great experience. It can be really difficult relocating and it seems especially so to LA for me! Both Sailboat and the woman who signed me up were very careful about how they helped me and took their time. Very much appreciated!!!
You have to wait a very long time for an employee to pick up your things. Today I tried to call 3 times, left messages and no one called me back. urgently help me resolve the issue with the employees so that when I arrive someone can open the gate to my storage room with my things. Thank you. I am attaching a photo after 30 minutes of waiting. I keep waiting.

But THIS is now my review: MAKE SURE YOU ARE OUT BY CHECKOUT DAY!!! THEY WILL NOT EXTEND, EVEN IF YOU PAY, ONE-DAY... NOT EVEN A FEW HOURS! I WAS FORCED TO PAY $330, AND ALMOST HAD TO PAY ANOTHER $530! RIP-OFF! IT IS NOW THE 21'ST AND THE UNIT IS STILL FREAKING VACANT!
They raised my rent like clockwork, every few months. Started off 1 10x10 and 1 10x5 for $500 approx. Then by the time I moved across the street, it was $830!!! SHAME ON THEM! Moved across the street to ANOTHER PUBLIC STORAGE, saving myself $300+ per month!
FYI: You CAN (just one time!) apply for a rent reduction. I never did this, because I was so bitter about them raising the rent, squeezing me out.

I learned today that Public Storage will be open on Memorial Day. Actually, they only close 3 days out of the year! Unfortunately, Public Storage compensates employees working on holidays at the same rate as any other day....might be something to reconsider...

I would highly recommend avoiding this place, as after only six months they are jacking my rent up a full 30%!!! So you spend all the effort to move your belongings in and then they pull this. Will now have to move everything again.

Rude staff. No care for the customer. I had to throw away ALL MY BELONGINGS. I had been paying there for 2½years prior to having to move out because of my financial issues due to the Covid 19 Pandemic. So Thanks for your true support of this Customer. True customer service doesn't exist here. Only work here if you have no clue what being a sympathetic human heart looks like. Truly disappointed in humanity at the moment; but what can you do when you've wasted your money and put your trust that services that can't even have your back when it's truly necessary. I'm ranting right now. So bottom line: don't waste your money or time on this Public Storage. You might just lose everything you owned because they wanna lien you for suffering during a PANDEMIC.THANKS AGAIN.

Melanie is a liar and I'm quite sure a theif. If she isn't the actual theif she's an accomplice. I'm not certain if this Public Storage location is privately ran or if it is corporate owned, but in order to keep your good reviews and good reputation in line, I HIGHLY suggest the Corporate offices do a full and immediate investigation on Melanie, the management, and contractors of this location. There is absolutely NO WAY that a customer using these strorage facilites without incident for years has an issue with thousands of dollars worth of property being stolen less than a month after requesting a lock be changed. Something unsavory and very unsettling has happened. And I highly suggest ya'll clear it up as soon as possible. 😘
