Public Storage Self-Storage Units at 1880 W Charter Way, Stockton, CA

This has got to be the worst storage unit experience of my entire life! My storage unit got broken into, among like 5 other storage units, they took all of my valuable stuff, there was nothing much left so basically there was no need for a storage unit anymore. I cancelled my storage unit 2 weeks before the new month. I went to the office and of course like always the lady wasn't there, she never really is and me and these two other guys waited for 30 minutes until she came out the little house that's there. I told her I wanted to cancel my unit, she said okay is your storage unit this number, I said yes she said just be out by the end of the month, that's it your good. I said that's it, I don't need anything? She said no that's all. Next month comes and I still got charged so I called my bank got my money back because I cancelled. And now I'm still getting charged with fees because "I haven't paid the rent" now I'm very upset and will be contacting a lawyer if I need to. Also, I tried every phone number that was given to me to contact a representative because the manager at this place never picks up the phone or is never there, none of the numbers had an option to speak to someone, only payments and information about your storage unit, all them!

Didn't know if I wanted a storage had alot of concerns after talking to Rachelle I was 100% certain this is the place for me, great service quick easy and broke everything down to me definitely will be staying here for awhile.......

The manager rachel is so nice. She makes the place feels like home and safe. I have been here for awhile and I like it here. The place is very big and clean. Easy to get in and out

Came in the office about 11:30 this morning spoke to a young man whom greater me when I walked in which really stood out not many young men so this … yet I explained to him what it was I needed and he went over a few different sizes of storage units and I actually got to see them on the tablet at the counter which was cool he also walked me out to see each unit went over pricing with me and how the monthly payments due date works I can not remember his name and I’m truly sorry for that😔I would like to thank you for helping me truly as a women coming in without a man you could have easily told me what to get and I would have just paid for it yet you went over things with me again thank you young man and thank you Public Storage 🙏🏾

This place is a rip off

Worse management ever we needed help I waited a hour and they came out in there car looked at us and left

I waited for hours and paid money, there was no one here to help and my money was not paid again.

Good convenient spot for storage, they do have problems with their gates occasionally, but they seem to get it fixed quickly.

Rachell assisted me this morning. She is the most amazing perso. Professional, answering all my questions and giving me a tour. Property is extremely clean and secured. I would give her 10 starts if it let me. Thank you Rachell!!!!

If I could give less stars I would. Problems from the very beginning. Couldn't pay over the phone to reserve my spot. I had to have a manager override it in order to have it reserved since I was coming from Montana. Was notified I had to show my drivers license when I got there. Got there at 3:15 pm no property manager on site or answering the phone so I could not get gate access to drop of my trailer. Called set up an apt for the following day (which didn’t know I was suppose to) Of course no property manager again. Called with no response then the main line said a manager would follow up in 24 hours, which they didn’t. Found an alternative place thank goodness so I called public storage the next day to cancel my account and refund my deposit. Really a terrible experience. I hope no one else goes through this. A complete mess on their end.

Have been renting a storage unit for over a year, Love this place however on March 30, there is this guy name Nathan who was nothing but rude, not helpful and apparently he keeps saying doesn’t need to work here because he has plenty other job offers. Finally the nice site manager Victor came in and helped us. Thanks Victor!

Good and bad service walked in and 15 minutes I'm getting my unit yay

We just rented our 2nd unit on March13th. We worked with Ken and Victor also assisted with the location of a unit close to our first unit . Ken did a great job showing us the unit and doing the paperwork, as well as answering our questions. The special for only paying half price for then first 3 months was still in effect so that was great . The indoor location great for rainy days . We appreciate the service of the staff.

We rented a unit on Jan 13th, 2023 and worked with Victor. He did a great job showing us the unit size and handling the paper work. We also appreciated only being charged half for the first 3 months as that is what first drew us to using Simply self storage . The service and the ability to drive inside to get to the elevators also great especially on rainy days.

This is a great facility with amazing hours of operation which are later than most storage facilities offer which are from 6am-10pm. The on staff cite manager Rachelle R. is always friendly and is very receptive to making sure all my needs are meet. It is greatly appreciated to know not only your belongings are safe and are easy and accessible at all times. This isn't a place of business, its more like family and the prices are unbeatable!!!!

Best place for all my storage needs!

I have some furniture from family members that have passed away and I put them in storage at another facility unfortunately, my unit was broken into multiple times, a friend recommended this self storage and I will say I am impressed not only of the cleanliness, structure, and safety of my priceless belongings, but also the customer service is superb! The lady Rachelle is very kind and knowledgeable, I’ve spoken to her a few times and I always feel light hearted after our conversations. I would recommend simply storage to anyone looking for a great self storage facility!

I just walked in looking for a decent sized unit to fit a vehicle in, and the property manager was very welcoming and knowledgeable on her units. Ended up renting a 10x30 with the first month off, from I believe her name was Jackie. Would highly recommend this facility, it is very spacious and clean and the property manager was very kind.

I was looking for a storage unit for my grandmother being that she moved into a smaller household and needed a storage unit for some of her bigger furniture. I called and spoke to a woman named Rachelle over the phone and she was amazing. I asked several questions about the size of units available and pricing. She was incredibly knowledgeable and had great customer service. Before the phone call was over I asked her name and thanked her many times. Highly recommend!!!

This is a very clean facility, and the young lady that helped us with our storage was extremely helpful and polite, she had the best customer service I have had in a very long time.

I was there helping my niece get some stuff out of her storage shed and the building alarm kept going off about every 5-10 for no apparent reason and management made no attempt to do anything about it. They actually ignored it.

Yeah so AMERICAN SELF STORAGE of STOCKTON was who I originally rented the unit from in the middle of COVID. The price was ~$80 a month and that was solid. They did raise their price to ~$115 but this was months, maybe a year later and I wasn't too upset at this. So now we're in May 2022 and there's been a change in management. I only found this out (on the 14th) when I had been trying to pay my monthly for about a week on the previous website but couldn't. I live in SoCal at the moment and barely visit the unit so I was unaware of the changed. Through my own research I had to find out that a new company had taken over and paid my bill on this new site. I had to inquire what had happened and the response I got on May 18th was "You should be receiving a letter in the mail. I can email you the lease and I can also email you the information you would need to create an account online so you can make a payment and update your contact information if needed." My mail gets sent to my moms house in Stockton but stated previously that I prefer email correspondence. Now...if I had to do my own research to pay my bill, what makes you think I haven't already created an account to...PAY MY BILL?? And why wasn't this notice emailed AND mailed out to the recipients? AND THEN HAVE THE NERVE TO RAISE THE PRICE OF RENT? BAD BUSINESS. No call, no prior email, nothing. If I didn't do the research myself my unit would've probably been sold off by now. Please understand that not everyone is local. We need/deserve an adequate amount of time to prepare for these types of changes. This was also the first time I was ever late on a payment. Very dissatisfied at my 1st storage experience.

I wish I could give zero stars , they keep boosting rent. They bug you and pestering you. Go to a different place. Don't be stuck with them. I had many friends who also rent here and they all had bad experience.

American Self Storage RV boat parking U-Haul been thirteen years since I had a storage unit remember how they were to do their job and move on I guess I rented it from what are the guys that lives there and manages the place with his wife boy did he give me the rundown he was straightforward honest to the T it made me feel like the place is a safe place to store my stuff I don't know what more you could have done if you really want to feel safe about your stuff being stored somewhere this is the place be prepared to have rules but there no rules that you can't comply bye and their fair and he give you till 9 at night
