I want to highlight the exceptional service provided by Dana at the Public Storage on La Brea and Santa Monica. During my visit, I was impressed by her dedication and professionalism. She went above and beyond to assist every customer, displaying outstanding customer service skills. If I ran a business in Los Angeles, I would personally try to recruit her.
However, I do have some concerns about the facility. I found rat feces in my unit, which is a serious issue that needs to be addressed. Additionally, the cost of my unit has MORE THAN TRIPLED in the past 5 years, which is quite disheartening. It feels almost like a scam. While the service from Dana is top-notch (really, she's amazing), the facility's maintenance and pricing policies need dramatic improvement. I would give this 1 or 2 stars if it didn't reflect badly on Dana. I'm hoping for 3 months minimum refunded to my credit card for the rat feces and will consider changing my review.

Am I wrong to think if they are going to charge such high prices they should be providing functional units? I mean that’s what I signed a contract for but that is NOT what you’ll get here!!! I have 4 Public Storage units in 3 different locations in California. This location has been by far my worst experience with Public Storage yet! The location would be great but it’s the smallest yet most expensive unit I have and a complete pain to access! The staff here is pleasant enough but nobody follows through on anything! Since the day I moved into my unit I have asked to have the door latch fixed. Every time I want to access my unit I need someone who works there to open it for me or I would need to carry a hammer or mallet to open it because it’s been broken into so many times that it’s bent! That’s not convenient at all.
I have talked to both Jovan and Elizabeth on multiple occasions as well as another man who’s name I didn’t get. They’ve all assured me they would check on it and submit a work order then act as if the conversation never happened the next time I see them or speak to them on the phone. It’s really frustrating to not have something so simple be addressed for so long! Yet they will call you constantly to let you know if your payment is late and get real snippy when you try to simply ask for some help to get the issue resolved. I’ll be moving out of here ASAP and I would highly suggest anyone who values their time, money or the things they’ll be storing to look elsewhere THIS IS NOT THE STORAGE PLACE FOR YOU!!! My unit also has some kind chicken wire across the top that’s been cut wide open to gain access through the top via other units. This whole location is just a mess really…

WARNING — rampant THEFT here!! Storage units get broken into here regularly! It is not secure.
A homelessness encampment is right outside and this area does not feel safe at all. Employees know the problem exists and do not care. Go to another location if you can.
I showed up in person to look over the facility at Santa Monica Blvd. and Highland. I was in formed by the property manager that they had 2 carts available for over 1400 units. I walked out. Then I visited their sister facility on Willoughby. I was informed that the elevator was broken and they had no idea when it would be functional. Look forward to carrying your own heavy boxes one by one at either location. Absolutely terrible. We found much better service and facilities at Extra Space storage a few blocks east.

Whatever you do, DO NOT store your things here unless you never want to see them again. Public Storage's service was an absolute nightmare. Our storage unit was not just broken into, but ruthlessly ransacked, and their response was infuriatingly inept. Their hollow claim that they tried to call us was a pathetic excuse, given that no such call ever reached us. To make matters worse, they shamelessly lied about our lock being “tampered with”, despite the clear evidence of ransacking with the broken lock left inside the unit. This wasn't an isolated incident; numerous units in the area suffered the same fate, exposing a blatant security lapse that Public Storage conveniently ignored.
What's enraging is that Public Storage, a company we trusted to protect our valuable belongings, had the audacity to tell us that they had no security cameras. Their staff's rudeness and complete lack of assistance topped off this infuriating experience, making it abundantly clear that they are utterly unworthy of anyone's trust.
Public Storage's disgraceful handling of our security, dishonesty, and abysmal customer service is a slap in the face. Steer clear of this horrible company unless you enjoy the misery of losing your possessions and dealing with their utter incompetence.

It’s great to see a Public Storage with so many awesome reviews, this reassures me that my personal items are safe. Also, I want to acknowledge Kay for her super hard work, patience and skills of multitasking in high pressured situations. As I was signing up, Kay was also dealing with an unreasonable customer who was loud, forceful and cranky. She stayed calm, spoke softly and managed to get the customer to move at her pace and not the other way around. You go Kay, keep up the hard work. Oh and I also have to add that while I heard Kay talking to her supervisor, she was asking for more responsibilities. Not because she was bored, but because she felt she can handle it. You go Kay!!!

Originally reserved ground level unit and when I got there, only basement was available. Now my rate randomly got increased from $325 to $425 for no apparent reason. I've traid talking to customer service and they just give me the run around.. pretty dissatisfied.

I went online to book a unit at a location their site suggested. Booked it with my CC and I get there and I was told to go to another location 1 hour away and it was a computer mistake. I showed the girl my reservation then she just turned it into attacking me, calling me names, totally argumentative and just absurd. She nor the there guy (the manager who opted to let this unfold as it did) even offered any resolution to resolve the matter. never would I deal with this company again. They dominate the market and perhaps it was just this one but it was enough to leave an ugly memory I won't soon forget

All of my friends valuable belongings were stolen from her storage unit here last month. Reason to believe it was an inside job. Sketchy and unhelpful staff that refused to look at the 4 hours of video footage and would not let my friend do it either. Sketchy sketchy sketchy.

This is the most professional and best public storage I have ever been to. They are incredibly accommodating and kind. I will honestly never use another storage space again. Shout out to the manager Elli and Jovan for making my experience with Public Storage so great.
UPDATE: This location is okay but would love to transfer to your oxnard location. the staff here are wonderful but the location in oxnard has promotions and also climate controlled!
