I recently sold my house, and need to find a place to temporarily store my stuff. Since this Public Storage in Hayward (29824 Mission Blvd) is across the street from my place, I made a reservation to go to the site and take a look since I have never used public storage before and have no clue what it looks like and how to rent a room for my stuff.
I went to the rental office on Friday (6/13), and the girl whose name is Trinity welcomed me, she is so nice, she not only showed me two room types 5×5 and 5×10, but also explained to me all the procedures about how to rent a room, how the fee is charged as I said before, I have never used this service before, so I had tons of questions, but Trinity is so patient, and she answered me all my questions. Later when I went home and found out that my original reservation of 5 × 5 was not big enough, so I made another reservation of 5 × 10, she recognized me when she saw the new reservation and called me to confirm if I wanted both or used new one to replace the old one. After confirming, she also told me that she would be off on my moving date, but she would inform her coworker Tracie about my coming.
Finally, my moving date is on 6/16, Tracie helped me finish all the necessary paperwork, and she is so nice and knowledgeable, the whole experience was simply awesome. On the very next date 6/17, I had some more boxes that needed to be put in, and it was close to the end of the day, it was Tracie on duty again on that date, and she helped me to get my stuff in, so kind.
Overall, both Trinity and Tracie are very helpful and very kind, I can't recommend more of them and this site to anyone who is looking for a space for your stuff, they deserved all 5-star rewards.
Big thank you to District Manager Kyle by turning a negative situation into a positive situation especially moving into something greater. I love that my negative experience was heard and was dealt with no questions asked and I just wanted to acknowledge Kyle for hearing me out and quickly respond to my situation. I couldn't be happier with my experience at this public storage facility! I rent a unit here monthly to store all the items that were cluttering my home, and it has been an absolute game-changer. Tracy and Trinity have made my storage experience truly exceptional. Unlike other locations I've used in the past, these two are always on the move, ensuring everything is in top shape. I haven’t looked for a storage place in over 20 years. I am recently in a slumlord situation that has caused my home to flood & growing mold. I walked into this faculty which is just a few blocks from my home & was greeted with kindness, patience & empathy. Ms Nicky was pleasant & warm. Made the process easy. The customer service was unmatched & the space we ended up renting was clean & a much needed closeness to the elevator since I have cancer. Most pleased with my visit.

I was there to see the mgr. even.though she is a floater as of now because she is new Mika is one of the best mgrs there is and I have dealt with a lot of ps mgrs and locations. Your co. Can use more like her.
My daughter has been with Public Storage for over 3 years. Her storage was having light issues and the office told her to leave the lock key with them so it could be fixed since she could not stay because she lives far.
Well! They lost the only key.
So, She called them last week and told them that she was coming down to move her things between yesterday and today. She flew down, had to rent a truck and guess what? When she arrived, they told her that she needed to sign a paper and that it would take 1 1/2 week to get it unlocked which by the way, the girls that she spoke with last week, did NOT make any mention of that.
Now my daughter spent $$$$ on plane tickets, truck rental, hotel, food, and she has to wait until some district manager comes down to her storage in Hayward to unlock but they do not know when that would be.
Let me repeat it - Storage office person LOST THE KEY that was entrusted to them to fix the light. We are all very upset with this situation.
Your things will just get stolen. Very poor security. You're just paying for your things to be stolen. Insurance is worthless. Their employees look nervous when confronted.

My storage fee has been increased around $100 every year since 2022. I'm now forced to pay $504 a month. I signed up at $302, which was high.They prey on people in their times of need.

I never typically share reviews but i had a wonderful experience here. Not only are prices reasonable and the location works great for us, but the staff who helped was amazing. Chelsea and Madison answered all my questions without hesitation. They were so helpful and kind throughout the process. I wanted to make sure they are recognized for taking the time with me and being so helpful. Great experience.

I’m so glad I won’t have to deal with paying for a storage no longer. Moving my things out next week, it’s been a year. Payments started at $63 for the smallest storage and my payment now are $90. It should never skip to that much more. I think storage places do this because they know people really need the service. At least my things have been safe this whole time but it has been expensive.
I came in and was created by courteous , well informed staff who actually walked me threw the unit I had in question. Ended up renting in less time then I expected. Place was clean and seemed secure

The manager Madison was very helpful with accommodating my storage needs. As my size requirements changed on my unit Madison and the staff were very knowledgeable and helpful with recommendations that fit my needs. Overall a great experience that would make me definitely recommend this location .

BEWARE: If theres a ZERO 0 rating that’s what I would rate this facility. Storage locker doors are old, their security system at the time was out dated. my stuff there for a little over a year, about 6 months or less i went back to bring more stuff, come to find out. Someone had broke in to my storage, it was so unnoticed. The thief’s were able to bend the door latch with the lock on it and put it back, Unit you open it. They had stole 2 adults mountain bike, portable TIG welder, 4 sets of fishing poles. Im surprised they did take my 5th wheel hitch.
To top it off, they force you to sign up for insurance, its not nothing but a freaking SCAM. In total, the stuff i lost is about 3gs
They only reimburse me 2 hundred something. They claim my stuff are OLD and I don’t have receipts, who would have receipts for a ten years old items, and who would have known someone would break in in to my storage. LESSON LEARNED. Lets just say, my stuff is no longer there.
my advice, ( DO NOT ) put your stuff there.
