The man that works there I caught him in three or four different lies he was very friendly at first he's petted my dog before and all of a sudden out of the blue acted like he was scared of my dog she's like 15 years old she just sleeps a lot I'm not going to leave her on the hot car there's nothing in their policy that says the dog can't be there but he lied and said that she couldn't be there he just would make up lie after lie after lie and I caught him in all the lies because of course I'm going to cover my own ass and confirm before I confront him and he just lies constantly threatening you know all evict you if you don't take your dog out of here it used to be clean when we first rented from them then it just became real dirty garbage everywhere a lot of riff Raff now over there many times we get there and the electricity would be out or something I don't know but we couldn't get in one time we were locked in there and couldn't get out it was always problems constantly problems you know I don't live close to that place so I would drive all the way out there and then I couldn't even get in to get my belongings and whatnot you know they didn't give two shits I don't even think they apologized really but it's just a bunch of bullshit over there it was cool at first it was clean now it's not it's just grimy and like I said I've seen a lot of riff Raff over there as well
I think her name was Andrea. She was super helpful and courteous. Helped me right away get with a unit and was able to move right in.
Last week, someone broke into the Public Storage on Fair Oaks Blvd. in Carmichael and cut off the lock to our storage unit and tried to get in. They failed but, in doing so, damaged the bolt/hasp assembly. Al (who was filling in for the manager) called right away to let us know. By the time we got to the facility the next day, Al had replaced the hasp, comped us a new lock, and had everything good as new. Just want to say that Al was fantastic - apologetic, professional, friendly, communicative and super efficient. Excellent customer service. It was a pleasure dealing with him, despite the circumstances. Public Storage is lucky to have an employee like Al and I hope you take good care of him and keep him around!
Ethan was very customer oriented. He called to see if I needed assistance completing my online reservation. After my move he again called to make sure everything went smoothly, the gate code and door code were operating correctly. I appreciate Ethan his professionalism and customer service. Thank you

This Public Storage location appears to be well-maintained and organized. It’s a decent-sized facility, although most of the units are indoors. Unfortunately, since it’s a kiosk site, it’s a bit challenging to get assistance. Despite this, it’s a good location. Unfortunately, during my visit, the kiosk wasn’t working, so I couldn’t get any help.
We moved in on Sunday with complicated details for the move. Ethan was on the property, greeted us warmly, made sure that the complicated details worked out, he absolutely and thoroughly saved us. We came from far away out of town and never would have managed to complete the move that day without him. We were so lucky that he went far above and beyond, helping us in a million ways that we really needed. Late in the afternoon of our long move, he topped off his stellar service by bringing us bottles of cold water at our outside unit on a sweltering day. We were crazy with gratitude. Hats off to you Ethan!! I would work beside you in any job or wish to hire you if that was my place, any day. Excellent job. You are friendly and show so much care for the quality of your work, that we left grateful and hoping to see you again soon.

Every interaction I’ve had with Andrea has been pleasant and professional. I incorrectly reserved my unit in another city but she made a quick phone call, called me back with instructions to correct my mistake and has a nice smile & wave whenever I enter the property

I've been looking into getting a storage unit so I went in this morning to ask questions. Ethan was awesome. He told me all about the different sizes and pricing, what's best for my needs, etc. He was super patient and I got all my questions answered.

Was in today to get some information about renting a space. Ethan was very patient and knowledgeable, and got me all the info I needed. Highly recommend.
The property manager was helpful and fun to talk to. He showed us to our unit and explained where everything was and how it worked. Although the hallway floors are in bad shape. It makes one worry about heavier loads.
The customer service at this location from Ethan has been nothing but steller. If you had more employees like him, it would make this location highly successful. He goes above and beyond to accommodate the customers. It's rare to see an employee who handles people's needs the way he does.
My only issue is with gate access. I've had issues the last week or so with access. Which caused me a financial loss.
I had some of my items slated to be sold through a 3rd party vendor.
Not having access this weekend because of a mechanical failure caused me to lose a deposit with that vendor.
The facility needs maintaince/updating on a mechanical level.

I am writing this review to highlight Ethan specifically. Can someone please give this man a raise AND a promotion? He consistently goes above and beyond to keep the San Juan Ave facility in order. Ethan is also very personal able and genuinely a good person. Any organization would be so lucky to have him!
We never had any issues with this storage place. The units are clean and air conditioned. Ethan the sight manager was very helpful and it felt great to see someone in sight to help people out if needed.
Omg I love Ethan! Initially, I was apprehensive about coming to this storage facility alone, but every time I visit, I encounter Ethan diligently working, whether he's scrubbing the elevator floor or cleaning the roll-up doors. His friendly and kind demeanor has made me feel at ease and I no longer feel hesitant about visiting the storage unit as a woman. The security measures in place here make me feel safe and ensure the protection of my belongings. Ethan, thank you for your dedication and exceptional customer service! It’s because of you and the security in place I choose to stay! You awesome!
"Contactless" property-it's more impressive than you think! Those words absolutely scared me at first, but I was in a time crunch and units were selling out all over town so I grabbed the last 10 x 30 and a 5 x 5 temperature controlled inside unit.
Quick disclaimer-I've been meaning to write this since November when I secured the units. Something happened the other day that forced me to sit down and finally write my review.
When I arrived to secure my units, the code worked flawlessly, and when I opened both unit doors, there were the padlock and keys, just as described in my welcome kit.
After a couple loads, I met the gentleman that does maintenance and other stuff onsite, Ethan. He's VERY welcoming. He explained how everything works, explained the app (that's a blessing!!) made sure my codes worked with me, and said if I ever need anything to just ask. He's around several days a week. That gives me some peace knowing someone does work onsite and will notice things that are out of the ordinary.
Fast forward to the end of May, and I pull up with like 9 minutes left before the gates lock; I just need to grab something in the front of one of the units and that unit is located right out front. The app was malfunctioning and I couldn't get in and was absolutely panicking, it's how I process things sometimes. I didn't recall the gate code since I've been using the app to enter for months. Low and behold who walks around the corner with 7 minutes left, ETHAN!! As I'm trying to explain myself, he figured out what I needed, says "take a breath, if you need your code, that's something I can help with". He jumped into action while I slowed my heart rate and calmed down. I was in and out with TWO minutes to spare! Ethan saved the day!
There are a couple other instances I've encountered Ethan. He's always extremely cordial and very helpful every time I see or talk with him. Two older ladies were at the facility today and I watched him interact with them. He was keeping them comfortable (it's hot) while they waited for their ride after he was done showing them the property.
I'm going to miss Ethan when I have to move the stuff from both my units, the rent goes up in August (not his fault and not what Corey told me when I signed up!!) but it is the biggest reason I left Extra Space. Highly recommend this facility due to Ethan.

I got my storage in 2019. At that time, there was an office and an employee stationed there. I believe covid is the reason for the kiosk no employee. That being said, I never had any issues! The place was clean, cameras both inside and outside! I actually loved using the app! The only negative experience I had was that the office area was always locked when I went. It's wasn't a big deal for me, but the kiosk is in there, and other people need to use it. Honestly, if this location was able to just have one person there for operation hours, it would make a massive difference, not to mention peace of mind. I personally enjoyed my stay there! All my belongings were safe, and there was no temperature damages! At most just dust, which I'd take over anything else lol!
**SCAM** No one is at the front desk, only a kiosk. They charge ridiculous fees, the elevator is disgusting, and the restrooms are locked up. The property managers are never available. If you need help... good luck. One 1 trolley for the entire storage complex. The rent will increase monthly!! Be aware that it's roughly $20 increase at least. They will not inform you, you will find out by your bank statements. If you need any customer service, they provide an automated help call. The place is disgusting, and the workers' attitudes are disgusting, etc. They are extremely lucky they haven't received so many lawsuits.
Ethan is very nice and knowledgeable. Helped me out so much at check in and also left voice mail to make sure check in went smoothly. Happy customer.
Don’t rent here! I rented a storage space paid all the fees and for the lock online, but it was a scam because they weren’t there during business hours to let me in after I had moved all my stuff to arrive where someone never showed up to work. I moved my stuff and wasted gas and had to pay for another spot somewhere else. They never gave me a refund after I called and talked to Armondo in LA. He couldn’t help me or give me a refund. He hung up on me. I wasted time money and gas with these people. Rent anywhere else. Save yourself the frustration because it seems like they will use any opportunity to rip you off.

This place always feels sketchy. There's often broken glass, etc. on the hallway floors, and it's obvious people have been trying to break into units because there are shoe prints on doors, bent up latches, and dents/holes in the doors. They only have a couple cameras on the outside of the building and it'd be easy for someone to jump the fence, so I don't suggest putting anything valuable in your unit. The building is very bare bones with creaky, warped plywood floors and just torn up fire retardant insulation for the ceiling. The permit in the elevator is just packing taped up and someone's come through and ripped it down, so who knows if it's even up to date.
Also, they have no employee on site, just a kiosk where you can video call someone remotely. Their access hours are ridiculously limited, too. They didn't make it clear when we first rented that the hours apply to the elevator too, not just the gate. If you're there after hours the elevator won't work, so the day we moved in our unit was left unlocked overnight because we still had one more thing to bring up when we hit closing hour. Luckily we were able to come back as soon as they opened the next day to run up there and lock our unit. They sent me a scolding email for leaving the gate after hours, too.

I just want to start out by saying i could not be happier with the
service I received today at the Greenback and San Juan property. I went down to make a big payment after not being able to make payments for a few months due to accident I had. The member of the staff that helped me was Aaron. He helped me settle the bill and got me a new lock. He meet me at my unit and due to the nerve damage in my hand he didn't hesitate to help me with the door. The tires on my Harley Davidson had gone flat and the bike had fallen over. Aaron without hesitation hopped right in there to help me stand up and stabilize this 800 pound bike. I am pretty sure I couldn't have done it without him.
Its good to know that there are still people out there that take pride in customer service. Thank you Public Storage and most of all Thank you Aaron. Lee Miller 5/13/23

The security is terrible, my unit got robbed and they couldn't do anything to help and then also charged me for the unit another month after it was already broken into. No cameras, no security guards, thieves got away with almost my whole unit and nothing was done to compensate.i feel it was a inside job and the employees were very uncaring and sympathetic I will never use this company again. Save yourself the worry!!!

Unfortunately, while raising the rent $40 for the last 2 years for a total of $80 more, they now lock the restroom which is a big reason why I rented there, they changed the front office to strictly kiosk service there is no person there, the automatic gate will not open when using the app from the outside only from the inside which is always nice when it's pouring rain, and now someone has broken one of the interior doors between the two sides of the upstairs storage area which cuts off the airflow, restricts the air conditioning to the side be on the door, and it's very difficult to even open the door so it's also kind of a fire hazard since I think it's supposed to be open anyway and it won't stay open now that it's broken.
This storage place is terrible. You need to have your phone out and accessible in order to gain access to the gate, the door, and the elevator. Extremely inconvenient. They also only have 1 moving cart for the whole facility. Meaning you are screwed if more than 1 person is moving in or out at the same time. Another inconvenience is there is no body on site to assist you. Just a kiosk. And what ever you do, don’t ask the cleaning lady if you happen to spot her hiding in the office closet. She’s a complete b^****. Like every thing else you get what you pay for.

Great staff and a clean facility
A heads up to everyone, this place has horrible security and is not willing to help when you get you’re storage broken into. My storage was burglarized and now my kids are missing more than half their belongings and my wife’s childhood photos are all gone. Not to mention the more than $5000 worth of miscellaneous stuff. We pay monthly for the insurance program and all the insurance (Sedgwick) says is that they will not pick up the claim because there is no proof of burglary. Public storage won’t even take the time to look into the occurrence and now the location manager runs into her Chrysler 300 and drives away when she sees my wife or I pull up. This place is unprofessional and could care less about your belongings.
This used to be a good place when a property manager named Kiera was there. They no longer have people onsite. The office only has a kiosk there and the office is completely empty. No way to buy boxes or bubble wrap anymore. I went to my unit last month and this side door I use to access my unit was open, I didn't think anything about it (other people were using it that entrance).. I went to it today and there was no keypad nothing. After several calls to the 916 number, I find out they renovated everything and it no longer exists. I now have to walk a significant distance to open a door that is about 12 feet from my unit. I was never given any info on how to get to my unit and had to get a new keypad number.
Will be vacating as soon as I can. I'm stuck until the end of this month at least because I have to give a 30-day notice. But I don't think they honestly care because they can probably charge more for my unit.
I'm going to be looking for another storage place. Bummer since it's up the street from where I live.

The only good thing about this place is the property manager Yvette. Not only do they raise prices ridiculously but If you ever need to use storage for out of state use… do not. They have all these hidden “policies” that are NOT in the agreement signed upon start of rental. Trust me I looked through the agreement with a family lawyer. Just based upon how rude corporate was to me as a pregnant woman and mentions of my pregnancy, I would just never recommend it ever again. Unfortunate because it’s at no fault of the property manager because she was quite helpful.
Lost an hour (I only had 2 hours) trying to get access to my unit. No manager on site. You bolted the door I use (and was told to when I moved in) to get in, the kiosk (closest thing to a manager I could get) person told me the correct door was "right next to the loading door" when it wasn't. The door was 4-5 units down with a coded entry door (had to call back 2 times to get the code). Then when I DID get in, I almost got lost trying to find my unit since some of the unit numbers (including mine) where only hand written on blue tape. I was never informed of these changes (neither was my roommate who has an upstairs unit). I have been a customer here for at least 2-3 years and have NEVER had such a poor experience.
Yvette is amazing. She did everything possible to get us the best available unit, and was a breeze to work with. The facility is clean and safely mointored. Highly recommend this Public Storage.
