Awesome staff at a modern well maintained secure facility. When Helene was headed to Florida I packed our most precious photos and furniture and headed to family in Birmingham. Casey stayed after hours on a Friday night to make sure I had the perfect unit when I arrived. Excellent customer service!

I been with public storage for 6 months. They had a renovation or remodel going on. Everyone had to move their belongings before November 30, 2023. When I got my belongings out, I had molded on my furniture and my TV was crack. I called their insurance which was Orange Door. They deny my claim and gave me $250. $3k worth of furniture was damaged and all I got was $250? And also they said that it was climate control, but it wasn’t. Never again will Public Storage get my business ever again cause their insurance was garbage.

Everything is dirty and there are 3 carts for the entire building. Parking is limited and the lights inside were not working. They notified us to clean out our bottom unit for a renovation one month into using them. There are many better options nearby and you should consider them before coming here.
I rented a small storage room on the 30th. The manager Queen explained to me a lot of things that I didn't know. She also showed me around and taught me how to use the app to open the door. She provided attentive service. I am very grateful to her.

Was greeted by Queen, she made the entire move in and tour process a breeze! She was very knowledgeable and helpful with teaching me about the facility, where to go, and how to use the app in order to access the building. The facility is nice, elevators are large, and the company provides large flat carts for your own personal use to help move items in and out with a breeze. There are bathrooms located in the bottom floor, which were very clean and a nice addition since most storage units don’t provide that. Storage units and facility are safe, clean, and very secure, which is a huge plus, for me. Overall, great experience - well worth the cost!

I just want to say that Miss Queen at the public storage Cummings off Lakeshore is an awesome employee and an excellent and caring person. Very patient with all the customers. She explained in detail about the storage unit Insurance, the whole nine yards. Very personable and she cares about every customer. I watched her take the time to explain to two elderly gentlemen about their account what they needed to do to get the app downloaded. Wonderful lady, she's an asset to the public storage on Commons off Lakeshore in Birmingham Alabama. Thank God for her.

Queen was a pleasure to work with! She worked with us to ensure we paid the lowest rate, and even took the time to walk us around and show us different units. She was extremely nice, very personal, and a pleasure!
They claim this is climate controlled. My son goes to college in Birmingham and we rented a storage unit for 4 months. Today we returned to move my son and as soon as I walked into the building I could smell mildew. We had to throw several things away because the items were covered in mildew. I bought this problem to the attention of the person at the front desk and he said to file an insurance claim. That isn’t worth my time. I won’t be back to this storage facility and I recommend finding a place that can supply adequate climate control.

Staff is friendly and helpful. My unit is easily accessible but I have to remind myself to keep up with my lock key. There is a charge to have it removed by the Mgr or a locksmith.
My only complaint is the increasing rent. I've looked at similar units at same type of property and found them at least $20 less. The frequency of the increase is concerning as well.
The unit is temp controlled.
We received a letter dated August in which everything must be moved out by Sept. 1st due to renovations.
Upon speaking with the management, Brett, the reason was because of the ceiling leaking and water coming in from the floor and ground area. We were never notified of these issues at all prior to removing our items. I paid for a climate-controlled unit consistently since October 2020. Every item in my storage was damaged from water and mold growing from interaction with water dripping from the ceiling and coming from under the floor and window seals. We were never told of these issues with the facility until we arrived to move our things. All mattresses and box springs had to be discarded immediately. All pillows and comforters sets as well. None of my furniture is usable and has to be replaced. I am still currently sorting through clothing to see what can be salvaged for my children and I.
Suddenly they gave us one month to clear out our stuff because they want to do renovations.
