First the good news- clean, well kept property, helpful staff, great use of technology for self service from soup to nuts- you can rent a unit online, complete all the paperwork online, pay, get your assigned unit and access code within minutes and move in on the same day, 100% self service and efficient.
Now the not-so-good news- This is our third unit at this location and we've had access code problems that required staff assistance each time, and while the staff is professional and helpful, this location isn't staffed during all posted office hours, creating a frustrating hassle each time we needed help. We had trouble getting the access code to work upon our first rental and again, twice, upon transfer from one unit to another (we've downsized twice). You can go online to schedule a "Move Out" and both times we moved the access code worked to get into the property, but didn't work to get out (during business hours) and there was nobody on site to help.
My feedback to the company when they sent a Customer Survey upon Move Out was to leverage 20+ year old telephone technology to transfer a caller to regional or national Customer Service when there is nobody in the office. Easy, cheap, a no-brainer, and would have made our experience much easier.
A tip I figured out after our most recent experience is to schedule the "Move Out" for the day after you actually move out and hopefully we won't get locked in (or out) next time.
Prices are competitive and attractive online but change and usually increase if you don't follow through and rent immediately. I found I was able to find the lower price again by clearing my cache and using another browser or device. After you rent, the "online sale" price will increase significantly sometime between 6 months and a year, which helped prompt our downsizing. If you "transfer" you won't get the online sale price so you can cancel your current unit and rent another one to get the best price if you don't mind moving your stuff.
Rent is charged month to month, and rent increases are notified one month in advance. Cancelling on the Last or First day of a month means you won't have to pay for the entire next month (transfers are pro-rated but you don't get the lowest online price). You may be able to negotiate a discount instead of moving but we haven't tried that yet as we preferred to downsize.
The bottom line is that once your access code works and you're moved in, everything is easy peasy, but god help you if you need in person help onsite.
I rented a unit here for a couple of months. The whole process went very smoothly. I spent about 1 minute in the office on the first day and the last day. Otherwise, it was very easy to use the Public Storage app for everything else. They called before move-in to see if they could answer any questions and called after move-out to make sure everything went as planned. Maybe they were running a special when I signed up, but the space was much less expensive than another public storage facility in the area that our family has also used.
Over priced, they lure you in with fair rates then Jack it up over time. For a mere 5x5 they bumped us up all the way to $118! It was cheaper to fly out from Colorado and haul it back home. Good Luck if you need this for long term storage.
Rented a storage unit online and was told to come the following day during business hours to gain access to my unit. I show up at business hours and there was no one here, doors locked. I have a moving truck full of things in the parking lot and cannot gain access to my unit. After I get through the phone tree there's still no answer. My only option is to leave a message and hope someone will get back to me today. So glad I coordinated an entire moving team and rentals to get this done today. Even if this issue gets solved today I don't see myself giving this business more than two stars. I will update and add another star if I even hear from the company today. I am livid.
Buckets of rat urine all over my stuff. Manager was absolutely unhelpful. My move out was Oct. 1 but I still had to pay $124 for October, plus pay for a moving vehicle to vacate. Well I ended up leaving half of my things there because I'm not touching items covered in rat pee. And of course they're going to charge me for that. I have insurance on the unit but everything that got pissed on is sentimental and holds little to no monetary value. So I wasted a bunch of time and money and lost all of my stuff. DO NOT RENT HERE.
The best part about this location at 15700 SW Pacific Hwy is one of their employees, Thomas. Anytime I've had an issue or question and worked with Thomas he was incredibly responsive, calm, and helpful. Public Storage is lucky to have him working there. Overall this location is good but the constant rate increases are annoying.
My initial over the phone contact was great. And it was easy to reserve a unit. But I'm quite disappointed in the facility itself. My light doesn't work, and I've been asking for over 3 weeks to have them fix it. They literally need to go switch a breaker back on and haven't. I had to get another unit as well and the seals on the bottom of the doors are pretty much non existent. Instead of having to push the doors down to latch them, you have to pull them up. So already I've got all sorts of debris in my units. And the debris is ridiculous! I don't think anyone ever cleans the grounds. There's so much garbage, broken glass, nails and screws. I've walked up and down where I drive with a push broom and then a leaf blower so I don't pop a tire. And inside the units they have an access door on the ceiling. Some don't even have a door, it's just a hole. So someone can climb up and into your unit no problem. All and all the place is a real dump. If you want your belongings to be safe and secure, I do not recommend storing them at the King City location. I will take photos next time I'm there and add them.
Great property manager. Excellent storage space and location. Thank you.
Thomas was so helpful! He answered all our questions and was incredible
Thomas was so helpful and would recommend this location to anyone
Great customer service a good first impressio.
Jacob was very helpful informative thank you
Third time renting at a different location. The price is great to start and its cleaner than the other one. I love seeing people working on their project cars but 1 star for bad management after I told the manager in face to face that I left the same day I put my leave notice on the app and got email. I removed my all my stuff and removed the lock. Next few days I was getting notification about late payments and said that I'm still there? Took a week with 5 calls to 5 difference customer service to get it resolved, and left two messages to the property manager that I already left way before this. MAKE SURE to keep your "move-out" emails notification and call customer service the same day right after you have leave.
I've been renting a space here for years now and so far nothing bad has happened. Fingers crossed!
I popped into Public Storage after some discussion about options over the phone.
I met Jacob at their office to sign paperwork for the rental space…he was personable, professional, and proficient❗️
Things could not have gone smoother👍
Look forward to utilizing the space for my storage needs.
Unbelievable customer support and even better pricing. The property is emaculate...well lit...and very secure. Should come as no shock that I highly, highly recommend this place.;) I've had to deal with the garbage other storage facilities have pulled for the last 30 years... price jacking early into rental, deplorable conditions of the units...theft..water leakage..jack a55 office personnel...so glad I've found a home for my collectibles and test instruments here..
They will have all my future business. Well played guys @ public storage....
This post is specifically for Kim on pacific highway! I watched as she helped a customer before me with professionalism and patience— she conquered each problem with an immediate solution that satisfied the customers’ needs. Sadly, I feel many people these days lack pride for their career so it was absolutely refreshing to see Kim work with such gracefulness and ease, without letting any difficulty stop her from keeping her customer’s satisfied.
Good work, Kim! Keep up the positive demeanor because I promise, it is NOT going unnoticed.
Very helpful and knowledgeable.
Thank you Kimberlie!
Adequate storage. Price tends to change unexpectedly.
Charity was very helpful, quick and efficient with all the paperwork and explanation.
Wonderful person and very professional thank you for your patience 🤩 thank you kimberlie
Thomas at Public Storage in King City called to check on how everything was during my recent move to this location. The customer service displayed by Thomas was exceptional. Compared to other stores I've been to, this is the first time I've experienced such high-quality customer service. The storage unit itself is made of wood panels and is an outside drive-up unit. It was quite dusty with numerous cobwebs, and the door was a bit faulty, but I suppose that's to be expected for an outdoor storage unit. There were also cobwebs inside and no light bulb. However, overall, my experience has been satisfactory.
We showed up late, a little after business hours but Thomas opened the door for us and got us taken care anyways! Great customer service!
Thank you David for being so patient with us. Made renting stress free
The most unprofessional business I have ever dealt with.
This place is legitimately TERRIBLE with terrible service.
My father in law passed away in October and we haven’t been able to get his stuff out in the months following despite the fact that we are the executors of his estate and now are the ones on the rental agreement.
They’ve refused to give us access to the unit, are never at the facility during our agreed upon times and even threatened to put the unit up for auction despite our numerous attempts to come by, pay and remove his belongings. We’ve been charged over a thousand dollars + late fees for months of refused access. No one will return a phone call.
They claimed last week our unit was “broken in to” and then claimed it was actually them who broke our lock and left it unattended overnight. When we came to inspect the unit our codes were again locked and we were unable to move anything out.
This has been four months. They are extended the grieving process. LET US GATHER OUR FATHERS BELONGINGS.
DISGUSTING people who clearly just want to take advantage of a grieving family.
Much newer than others. Booked online same day drove up and in and out. Didn't have to go inside or speak to anyone. Checked out a month later online, too. Super easy and convenient.
Made it very easy and didn't take up to much time.
Easy online move in, easy to access, love the app will control the gate lock. Well maintained. Saw one of the keypads got destroyed shortly after moving in and it was repaired by the next visit back, maybe a week? Hopefully they don't hike the rate in 3 months.
We recently rented from Publicstorage and I just have to say that the entire process was a breeze. Very friendly (and recently remodeled grounds)! They deserve a definite recommendation from us, especially Thomas, who was great to work with!! :)
Rented here over a year. Had many issues with autopay which resulted in paying late fees. Don't trust that autopay will work. Pay the bill online in advance. Staff are not very helpful when you have questions or need help.
EDIT for reply: Your standards shouldn't be to penalize your customers for the failures of your payment processing systems.
Mr. Thomas, site manager is very accomodating and helpful ! Definitely recommend this place.
I made a reservation in the morning and Thomas called me within a half hour. When I went in to sign the rental agreement, it all went smoothly! The unit is clean. The place is very secure! The manager, Thomas was very thorough and helpful. The 1 dollar first month rent is awesome. There is a processing fee, and you need a particular kind of lock. You can buy one there for $20 if you don’t have the kind they require for utmost safety.
Expensive and mediocre...
They sold my stuff !
