Really scary and spooky place with squeaky floor and wooden doors. The inside looks like jail cells and I always get goosebumps whenever I enter. Wish they had onsite staff.
Few things.
1) My lock was broken down by their staff and replaced with a new lock installed without my permission though I am a long term renter for over 2 years. Lack of communication. I am still trying to get my $20 refund for my lock. But they do not have a system to refund or proper authority to refund. Emails never get answered.
2) Don't expect your call to be answered by a human to resolve any issues. May be they do it to keep a record of your commmunication but they fail to document it. So they are poor documenters. Chat on the web is never available.
3) It may work for kids to store but not for hard working people as their blood pressure go high due to frustration and unable to get prompt service on time. And if they are working, then god only needs to save them with time.
I am very disappointed that I will never ever go to a Public Storage in future. They are also notorious to keep on increasing the rent as there is no rent control on Public Storage. Bad Business for renters but good Business for owners.
Non busy always today but to expensive. To years ago I started at 80.00 for a 5x10 now it’s 180.00. In t o years more than doubled. Crazy time to close this account
Really bad customer service and old storage facility. First, we couldn't complete the rental online due to some bogus explanation, had to drive to the office. Second, we were supposed to return locks from the storage unit we didn't intent to use. Third, the put renters insurance on top of the contract although we do have coverage from our home insurance, Fourth, the initial storage unit we were offered had water leakage marks. Fifth, we tried to provide proof of insurance in person at the Fair Oaks office during working hours, but no one was around. The storage facility itself is very dated, first floor has a smell and each unit has rodent treatment packages.
Great experience & great customer service! Taslima provided me with the best service, she is super polite, helpful, very knowledgeable & super great energy. Going in after work was definitely worth it 🙂
Hard to recall a good experience here other than proximity when we needed to move a while back.
Our unit(and others) have been broken into, at least twice. The elevator has been frequently out of service. Despite the sign on the door stating full-service assistance, I've never found a representative on-site, the site is usually dirty and smells. There is no access to a restroom.
They frequently have pricing "adjustments", increases, while providing no additional value or service.
Anyway... not a good experience and we have emptied our unit and closed our account at this location.
Me and my wife rent a large unit that whole 2 bedroom and we had a hard time getting anyone to talk to about the unit and once we got into the unit, it was dirty with trash still in it. My wife said let's go somewhere else but I said since we here let's just wait until someone clean it. Then my wife needed to use the bathroom and it was lock then she said this is unbelievable, everytime we go to this location the bathroom always lock and there is no body around to ask why is it lock. I will not recommend this location to anyone, A terrible place to rent a space. Also, there are trash up and down the hallway, these sorry people's don't even keep the place clean. We have decided to move out very soon. Not only this is a trashy place to rent a space but it is a Rip off.
Taslima went to extra effort for me to rent a space today. Thank you very much. Michael
This location has no onsite manager anymore and has suffered three mass break-ins over the last two years and they have made the location less secure after the thefts by removing on-site management and failing to improve the cameras. Customer service also failed to offer any recourse or make things right. I do not recommend this location.
Lindsey is awesome!!! She made a special trip to meet me at the East Weddell location to open my unit, at which time the hapse was warped to where I wasn't able to lock the unit. We went back and forth to the office and located a hammer. Lindsey was able to hammer the haspe back into position so that I could finally secure my unit. It looked as if the lock had been crow-barred in another attempt to break in and also the PS blue lock broke the key. Luckily my own lock was intact and I was able to use it after Lindsey re-aligned the lock/haspe. It was an ordeal, yet Lindsey was always in problem solving mode, as well as professional and affable. Thanks Lindsey!
ZERO or negative stars, a total abject failure. This place hasn't had a working elevator in weeks, hasn't replaced missing hand carts in months, and the location manager doesn't have clear answers on when anything is getting fixed. Oh, and they raise the rates every couple of months, and the manager is never present, so safety is definitely an issue as well. Beware folks. I'm moving out this week up and down 3 flights of stairs at this place.
Serena was very helpful and informative. Great customer service.
I moved out on Jan 27 (officially confirmed by the app) and they charged me for February. Now I have to spend time disputing the charge. The storage unit has a painfully slow elevator that broke down during our two months stay here. Very difficult for large moves, beware of booking units not on the first floor.
Far too expensive. $217 per month (now $275 -- see update below) for what is essentially nothing more than a 10 × 10 foot wooden box.
That's more expensive per square foot than my apartment, which has plumbing, electricity, heating, air conditioning, two bathrooms, a stove, an oven, refrigerator, a community swimming pool, etc. What a ripoff! My Public Storage unit rent went from $176 to $198 to $217 -- a 23% increase -- in a year and a half. (August 2019 to Feb. 2021)
And they raise the rent sneakily -- they don't send you a notice or anything -- they just quietly slip it into your regular bill where it can easily be missed. And if you do, they hit you with an unconscionable late fee, that in my case was SIX TIMES the actual shortfall! ($30 late fee for a five dollar shortfall.) I requested that they waive it, but they refused. 😡
I would avoid doing business with Public Storage.
________________
2022 update: They raised the rent AGAIN as of February 2022 -- $275 a month! For a 10 square foot box! That's an increase of 27% in just one year (when it was $217) and an increase of 56% in two and a half years! (From $176 in August 2019 to $275 in Feb. 2022)
Dramatic increases to the rental price without any notice. Also, struggling to get in touch with anyone at the facility. Called 4 times and left messages during business hours.
