Forbes just named America’s Best Large Employers of 2022 and Public Storage is thrilled to make the list. The best part? It was our own employees that got us there.

Participants working for companies across the nation were asked to rate their willingness to recommend their own employers to friends and family, and to nominate organizations other than their own.

“The fact that this recognition was awarded to us based on our team’s feedback makes me incredibly grateful and I feel so honored that I get to work with such hardworking, talented people every day,” announced Joe Russell, CEO, in an internal communication.

“Public Storage takes really good care of employees,” said Brittany, a property manager in Northern California.

Our recognition from Forbes is no surprise to Doris, who joined us as a property manager seven months ago, and has already recommended career opportunities to acquaintances because of the great company culture.

“Everybody is really nice and always working together to help our customers,” said Doris, a manager in Kansas City. “It just feels like family.”

We are proud and humbled by our employees’ praise. In 2021, their ratings also earned us Best Company for Career Growth and Best CEO by the career site Comparably. In all, we received eight awards from the career site.

We value our team and have long offered opportunities for their development. Each year our employees log nearly half a million training sessions towards bettering themselves professionally and offering customers excellent service.

“I love working with people—interacting with the customers and helping them out by trying to make sure their needs are met,” Doris said.

We’ve also created new roles within the organization to give employees the opportunity to advance in their careers.

Brittany, who was recently promoted to property manager, said she appreciates the opportunities to better serve our customers.

“I enjoy the people and building relationships with our customers,” she said. “It’s cool the different types of people you get to meet and help out.”
