☆☆ REVIEW - READ. IT WILL SAVE YOU TIME AND MONEY I wanted to take some time out of my day and share my experience with this Public Storage provider. I initially decided to store and rent a 10' x 15' storage unit back in March of 2023 for $126 a month with mandatory insurance required. Over the span of a 1 year and 9 months my rent steadily increased 4x's to more than double my inital rental amount (more than 100% increase)! Additionally, during my time visiting the storage facility there were some items that concerned me, which I covered in the "CONs" section below. Needless to say, I felt I was getting ripped off and price gouged and decided to move out on Veteran's Day. I decided to rent a U-Haul truck off of 1604 and Braun and also decided to rent a 10' x 15' unit from this storage facility (for $199 with climate control) too. I spoke to the owner, Jennifer, at the U-Haul Moving & Storage of Helotes about their price increase policy and they insured me that they wouldn't raise the rent until the 5 year mark (in which it would be less than $10). Additionally, my first month rent would be free and a lock would also be provided. This offer helped smooth the transition from one storage unit to another and help covered my rental truck (and gas). Additionally, this U-Haul storage facility has available personnel on-site during their operational hours. I'm hoping my experience and transparent review helps someone make an educated and financial decision. Additionally, I do hope that the owners at this Public Storage facility will reflect on their business and pricing practices. I don't mind steady and fair price increases, but the way you are doing business is unethical and honestly price gouging your customers. As retired Veteran, I would have liked to enjoy this holiday, but instead I was busy clearing out my storage unit. Do better. I would give a zero if I could please do not rent these units I promise you will regret it the elevator is constantly broken they have two and I just left with both of them being broken there was no way to access my belongings and no one was at the front desk even though it's only 3:00 p.m. which is crazy someone should be there technically it's open but of course they left so now I'm here not able to access my belongings also the lady informed me at the front desk that they do raise their rates every four to six months which is ridiculous be ready to pay triple the rate.

Valdez was really helpful and attentive to all my questions and concerns, I really appreciate her help and doing business with public storage.

i had reserved a 15ft storage for $53 my first month & when i got there they literally said they dont have my space that i had literally reserved. like what is the point of reserving a space then??? & then they literally doubled my price🤦🏼‍♀️ they didnt even try to make an acception, they didnt even OFFER to give me a discount. im really irritated with this place. i literally paid like about $100 instead of the $53 like they said. just ridiculous. i usually only leave reviews for places i really like to put good out there in the world but they literally told me in person to leave a review on google, they emailed me, & they KEEP texting me to leave one. so here’s my experience with them.

Efrain, was very nice, and helpful, he walked me through the whole process he was always responsive on calls as well as in person. I also had spoken to other staff members on the phone, they were also very friendly and helpful. The storage facility is very clean.

This unit is very nice. Efrain was extremely helpful in addressing my billing concern. I like the climate controlled unit that I have. I understand yearly price increases are necessary. I hope the percentage increase year to year stays in the high single digits instead of the 20% range, however. But Efrain is the best!

It's ok. Lots of little issues, but it looks secure. Using the app to go in and out are difficult at times. There's 2 elevators, but only one works and it happens to be the one I'd need for my storage unit's location. I was told it won't get fixed any time soon. Dawn is amazing at the front office!... Super helpful and knowledgeable. Not all staff is the same. She makes the difference in the decision to rent here.

Door to enter building has been broken for almost a hole month and management has not done nothing to fix it there's never anybody here to talk to and calling is a wast of time

Called and got an appointment within an hour. Curtis was there to show me a unit and helped me out with the paperwork and was in and out in roughly 10 minutes. Overall it was a super easy procedure to get what I came for. Shout out to Curtis, thanks man!

If I could give a zero I would. This place is an absolute joke! There is ZERO staff. The doors are locked even during business hours. The hours of operation posted on here are incorrect because the doors are always locked. When you call the number listed, it's an answering service who are less than competent. I was told that the office operates by appointment only, yet you can't make an appointment. I was given the property managers number. No answer and the voicemail says the hours of operation are MON.-FRI. 9:30AM-6PM SAT. & SUN. 9:30AM - 5PM I left a voicemail and still no one has returned my call. The office literally just there for show I guess 🤷‍♀️😡

The entry was always clean and the entrance keypads always in working condition. The entrance to the air conditioned units was covered so as vehicles could avoid rain when unloading, a well thought out design feature. The entrance provided at least 4 carts that were in excellent working condition. We never had a rodent or bug issue and our items were always in safe hands. Kudos the the manager who walked the property constantly and although a bit abrupt when asking if we were moving out whenever we saw her (we frequented our unit a lot), but it was clear her mission was to walk the property and inspect every inch of her kingdom! The property was always kept, free of debris, and the manager's communication was excellent. This was a no nonsense and direct business relationship, a rarity in today's world. The manager was prompt to answer all my questions upon move out and she never ceased to disappoint us. If I lived closer to this property, I would rent again!

I picked this place based on the ease of signing up from home and on the location which is close to my house. Everything seemed like it would run super smoothly, just like their initial sign-up process. However, I got to the location with a large trailer, and there are HUGE potholes on BOTH sides of their entryway. It's a busy street and there was a truck pulling out at the same time I was pulling in. Hitting these massive potholes with my 16' long trailer was SO painful and totally unavoidable. What an awful first impression. They could easily get that fixed and should put a huge priority on that!! To top things off, the app feature of proximity-based opening for the front gate didn't work, so I had to back up and move over to the keypad and go through the app to find the entry combination. I don't mind that, but I was expecting their other feature to work. The unit was nice and the latch seemed new. No complaints about the actual storage unit itself.
