Public Storage Self-Storage Units at 2006 Westheimer Rd, Houston, TX

Public storage on Westheimer is terrible. The elevator has been broken for months. This means that I have to use the stairs in order to access my storage. There are no carts available so in addition to the stairs, I have to carry boxes. If you can reach someone on the phone, they might promise to call you back and help with this or resolve these issues, but they will not call you back. It’s also insecure. There’s no property manager on site, and some of the security doors are broken.

Safe place and friendly staff.

DO NOT RENT HERE !!!!!!!!! Nobody is EVER on sight and nobody EVER answers the fun. So rude and disrespectful. Go anywhere but here. I left this months ago and I’m STILL getting charged. Weekly phone calls for payments when I haven’t been renting for 4 MONTHS!!!!!!! HIGHLY DO NOT RECOMMEND.

Rental unit was fine. Check out is miserable. I scheduled check-out through the App. I moved out on the scheduled date, but still get continuous notices that I'm past due. No humans answer the phone... Guess I'll keep ignoring their texts/emails, etc. Update...after this post, I got a phone call from a real person who wanted payment ... I explained my situation, and they indicated they would let the local property people know. After that, I got an email from public storage saying I still owe a balance for February (which is after my checkout date) and to pay now to avoid collection charges. I've rented unita from many other companies in the city... This one is disorganized. Will the owners make this right? I'll let you know.

There are people living in these storage units. The overall situation is horrific. Garbage everywhere, no management on site, gate is always unlocked, zero safety precautions - no working cameras, dim hallways, homeless people roaming throughout. Stay away, especially if you are a woman. Don’t bother trying to reach anyone locally, you will just get routed to their national office.

I couldn’t be more satisfied w/ the service that Alicia gave me at Public Storage. She was friendly, professional, placed me in a location close to home, & was able to save me some money - over $60 that another location was charging for same size! The unit was spotless, & people friendly plus had carts, etc if needed. To be honest I have NEVER in over 20 years had a problem w/ Public Storage so thanks Alicia & P.S. for a job well done…

Nice employees but this place is not secure. My unit was broken into and the employee and I couldn’t even open the unit again. Time will tell what’s missing. The entrance to the building is literally always unlocked every time I go. Avoid this place if you don’t want to deal with what I’m dealing with right now.

This place is absolutely horrible. Limited entry hours, dirty, no one on site, garbage piled up, puke by the elevator that wasn't cleaned up for over a week. The unit I rented only was usable with the lock that they sell on site. When I returned after half a year that lock had been picked, someone had taken a box of things from the unit and rummaged through other bags looking for valuables. Because the lock was picked and closed again the property manager said it wasn't his problem, and that there were no cameras in the hallway anyway - he was also unwilling to go through previous footage in the parking and entry areas to determine if there was any suspicious activity. In general he was unsympathetic to the fact that there was an intruder and defensive about any concerns about the general security and upkeep of the property. When I called the national number I was told my concerns would be addressed with a call or email from the district manager within 24 hours, but 2 weeks later.. no response. When I called again after a long hold I dealt with a rude, also completely unsympathetic, and combative customer service agent who told me when I followed up on a request for a refund that "I don't get to ask for free rent" and in that case "everyone should get free rent", whether their unit was broken into or not. Unbelievable. STAY AWAY from this particular location, but also Public Storage in general. Even the slightly lower rate they offer compared to other facilities goes away after 3 months in your auto pay.

Horrible Don't waste your money or time. Horrible attitude, trash scattered about the place. Clear signs of live-in use by homeless. No in-person contact. No one on site. I reserved and paid for a small storage unit. The one the assigned me to was already in use. And since there's no human on site, no one could help. And the phone number they give you? Nah... be prepared to hold. And hold. And hold. 45 mintes. You get the idea. Don't waste your money or time.

Homeless people living in units. They close at 6 so you’ll only have access to your unit 8 days per month. The gate is also propped open by the people living in the unit with a sock. So even though they are “closed” any one can walk in. Several breaking reported.

I was given a phone call earlier that led with me being disappointed. I had spoken to Angel. Who has been very nice to me on the phone in the past and very polite. Despite my frustration and hanging up. He still took the time to still resolve my issue and had his manager to help me. It’s been a bad morning with bad news after another. So it’s cool to know they do care and are willing to help out. Thank u.

Good storage unit in a safe area!

Nice location with easy access. No staff works at this location, and it is a little difficult at first to get help.

Need to find a storage last minute and the price changes so quickly on the kiosk so I call in, and Tai help me find the perfect unit with the perfect price. My suggestion is try to call them first, they have have better deal for you. It was so easy.

Manager Angel, was very polite and professional. We needed a unit right away. We were not sure what size we were gonna need originally he offered to show us two units and thank goodness he did because the unit we originally ordered was way too small…. Thank a lot!

This location is generally clean, and it’s very easy and quick to get a unit rental using their website. I have my belongings in a 5x5 unit while I am in the process of moving into my new apartment and I haven’t had any problems. The people at the front desk greet you and are helpful if you have questions.

Terrible. Do Not Use. Manager never contacted me either. Continued to charge my mother's bank account after closing 1 year before. Taking over $2000. Then proceeded to say that I then owed $1000.

Location was very nice and clean. Angel was a great help. Ask for him if your needing any help or information.

So I just moved here from Louisiana and needed a storage close to my home. So I came across to this one . I was impressed with the great customer service that this young man Angel provided for me . He did an amazing job answering all my questions and went into detail what y’all provide. I must say he is a great worker and a very very clean place . While I was there he did an amazing job multitasking take care of me and very professional answering the phone and providing information for the people calling . I was VERY IMPRESSED! Great customer service! Thanks a lot ANGEL !!!

Had an amazing experience with angel, I called and was given reservation times that best suited my work schedule. When I arrived he had the unit I was looking for and a few others that were in my price range. Will recommend family and friends!

Great place ! Mr Angel was so friendly and answered all my questions.I have to say this location is very cleaned and organized, again the service was AMAZING!!

My unit was broken into along with many others. I believe 15 others. Rather than calling me to let me know they called and said that the building was shifting and they needed the key. I waited about a week until I had free time to take care of this. When I arrived I noticed the lock had been picked and back door lock looked broken. No cameras. Had I known there was a break in I would have came immediately to handle this. Wonder if anyone else fell victim to this. I understand break ins happen but being lied to about it is something else. The customer service line and district manager rude and no help.

I was fortunate to stop into the Oak Farms location and was greeted by Thomas. I can't rave enough about this man! Not only did he answer all my questions, but he also offered a variety of options to assist in all my needs. I'm absolutely going to be back to rent from this location. It's so nice to get the service with a smile and knowledge, something that is clearly lacking everywhere else these days! Kudos!!!

I live in the area and have rented a few units here and its cool they close at 6 pm cause it keep the homeless out. the manager was able to keep my rate from going up for 6 months and and is always there unlike previous woman that was there

I think it is an outrage to see Public storage at this location have raised their fees by 25% at this difficult time for the nation. I just saw my fees go from $340.00 to $453.00 for a single unit. I want to know how they can justify this price hike, when they produce nothing, and gas hikes have no influence on them. This is total greed. Unless this ridiculous price is reduced. I have no choice but to clear out my storage.
