Went there on 5/18 within the hours that they are allegedly open. I could not gain access to my unit. The power was out because of the tornado a couple of days ago, but I had equipment in there that I needed to retrieve. There were no signs on any of the doors stating there was a change in hours otherwise. There's no excuse given the amount of money that we pay to rent here. If the power is out then you need to schedule the appropriate staffing to give tenants access to their units. So, to everyone reading this: do not rent from PS if you plan on storing any equipment that you would need after a storm because if the power is out you won't be allowed to come and get it. EDIT: They began to let people onto the property but they said to do so at "your own risk." Once again, no staff was present (Where were you, "Melissa"? 🤔) You can be assured that they will be putting a new clause in everyone's contract that will state in the event of a power outage no one will have access to the property. I don't know who "Melissa" is, but apparently the reviews for this place are loaded with identities from people that have only made 1-4 lifetime Google reviews (lifetime reviews are real time). It's not just for this business, but many businesses that have Google reviews artificially inflate them with positive bogus reviews. In November 2023, my rent was $182 a month. Now it's $215 with their so-called mandatory insurance. Screw you guys. I'm out of here and your so-called climate controlled units that are HOT as hell. Edit 9/13/24: I vacated my unit in August of 2024. At least the checkout was painless and received confirmation of my vacancy. Price around before you decide to rent here. I know for an absolute fact there are cheaper places than this. When Community storage owned the property it was much better run and the rates were not going up constantly. I had a shed built on my property so I did not need this unit any longer.

STAY AWAY! DO NOT RENT HERE!! They raise their rent well above market rates so they can give you a temporary discount at fair market rates. Despite all the money they charge, they refuse to put enough carts in each of the buildings, and we are constantly having to search through other buildings to find one. There are light bulbs out through out the property. I've been waiting for 4 months to get one of the two, tandem light fixtures repaired in my unit. The property manager gave me a nonsensical response stating they need to get power pulled from another storage unit... but the adjacent light fixture has power. She admitted she doesn't comprehend how electricity works and is just repeating what her vendor told her. I have been a customer here for years, and frankly, it was managed much better when Community Storage owned it. At least they didn't try to raise your rent every 6 months above market rate and force you to move to a different unit in the property in order to pay fair rates. Stay away.

Awesome property and very clean. I am a vendor for Public Storage and the staff here is great and pleasant to deal with. I mainly deal with Melissa and Sebastian and they always help me with anything I need. You always see them out on property working. Recently met Cory at this location and he seems like a great fit. Melissa knows her property and tenants/customers very well and it reflects when you see her customer engagement. Would definitely rent from this location.

I chose to use public storage feb1st , The lady chelsea on 8001 barker cypress had an nasty attitude and aura and did not want to help , I DO NOT RECOMMEND THAT LOCATION , SHE EVEN HAS HER LITTLE SON WORKING WITH HER , while he rides back and forth on his scooter being rude to customers . i stumbled on this location , which is more convenient and reliable since it’s 3 mins away from me , i was helped by MELISSA , SUCH A NICE AND OUTGOING WOMAN , she was ready to help and any questions i had she answered them ! this is my first time using any storage also ! i had end up forgetting how to get to my storage and she checked on me outside to see if i was okay ! then she told me she could meet me by the gate and show me , WHICH SHE DID JUST THAT ! such an amazing woman and she had to go on lunch , so i really appreciate her for that , THAT MADE MY DAY , thank you MELISSA!!! great customer service and personality , AGAIN THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR GREAT HELP ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

These people since taking over from community self storage have been a nightmare. Without sending letter in the mail on emails to an account that send a notification back regarding the account being inactive auctioned off my unit for one month past even though I left countless messages that I was in the hospital fighting my cancer. Memories of my grandfather. Gone, memories of my children gone, Their new system would never allow a simple payment online, there new system would never allow my husband to go into make the payment because they wanted my signature on documents. A new kinda low. I will never recommend anyone use them. Absolutely low life business

The staff is very nice. I chose this location because the price for a small locker was affordable. I was taken aback by the mandatory $15 a month additional insurance fee which of course increases my monthly rate fro. $13 per month to $28. I wish I had been told this advance especially since I received multiple calls confirming my rental date and time to come in. I think at least 3 calls total. Overall, the ladies were VERY NICE and the facility a d storage area looks clean and safe. I am going to try to empty out that space as soon as I can, hopefully before months end because $13 plus tax is what I was prepared to pay, not double without prior warning. I would recommend this place be a use their rates are good and the staff is very helpful.
