This Public Storage in Conroe is located on the west side of I-45 just north of where it crosses Loop 336 on the south edge of town. It offers a variety of cheap self storage units to customers in central Montgomery County.

This storage facility is run by a gal named Mary I believe. Who originally seemed very happy to talk to me, willing to work with me, and helpful. That thought changed very quickly.
I brought her all the necessary information & documents to handle the estate of my late brother including a permission form filled out by my mother stating that I did have the right to be there & to assess the unit &/or empty it out.
Originally, I was told everything could be done & handled Thursday so long as their locksmith was available. Was waiting on a call back and never got one from Mary after she gave me her personal number. I tried calling the location and never got an answer or call back either. Went back to the location and was told by a different gal that the paperwork needed to be approved first & that Mary should’ve never told me to wait or that it was possible. Okay, was told that could take until Monday. I called the store to confirm, no answer. None of my calls or messages were ever returned. I called a few times Thursday, a few times Friday with some concerns and questions, Monday rolls around so I called again, and nobody ever picked up the phone or got back to me. I felt like I was blowing up their phones like nobody’s business.
Unfortunate they can’t answer their phones for concerned customers or even answer the questions I had unless it was in person and what was answered was subject to change depending on who I talked to next or after that. So, I don’t know who gave me the right versus the wrong information.
The back & forth, back & forth is ridiculous. I have been given the run around by this location for far too long when I don’t even live in the area. I live 4-5 hours away and have had to stay in town in order to handle the estate affairs.
Highly disrespectful to be kept waiting, wondering, and practically BEGGING for the right information and answers.
I wouldn’t and couldn’t in good conscience recommend this storage unit facility to anyone I know based off of everything I went through.
This place does NOT have indoor air conditioning. They are repainting this place, but the whole thing needs to be renovated. They are out of compliance, and it smells. All there is in this specific storage unit is clothes, and there's a hole in the ceiling right above everything. Please don't be sorry. Just fix this place up. It needs a lot of TLC. I've been to many facilities in the last 20 years and I've never seen a storage place so rundown.
* Since I've posted this. Corporate tried to reach out to me. Saying I have no storage room under my name. Obviously, if I have access and I'm inside a storage room and there's stuff inside the room, behind the locked door... I have a storage unit. I don't post these reviews to hurt businesses. I post so people see what's going on behind closed doors. Good and bad.

It was quick and easy to book my unit and I had access to it after hours. Very convenient and seems secure. Unfortunately my climate controlled unit (Building B) smells heavily of cigarette smoke. Like someone actively smokes there OR stores a bunch of ash trays in the building. Unfortunately I really needed this storage space last minute and it is conveniently located. I threw a bunch of oder control products in my storage unit to hopefully protect my items from absorbing any of the smells. We shall see if anything is ruined in about a month.
Update:my stuff was in the unit for about a month and a half with all the deodorizers my unit smelled fine and my stuff was okay. The hallway of the building definitely still smelled of smoke.

Came in today after reserving a great priced unit online & was greeted by 2 of the nicest ladies! When I arrived originally began speaking with Mary & found out shortly after that Karen was a newer employee and would be assisting me through the process. She took me to see the unit I reserved plus 2 other sizes so I could make sure I was getting exactly what was needed. Ended up moving forward with the unit O reserved which I was very pleased with! Also, I found out I was the first customer Karen was able to sign up so that’s always fun! We all shared jokes & enjoyed the conversation! So happy I moved forward with this unit and location!

The service was exceptional. We reserved a unit online and within 10 minutes of them opening we received a call from Mary asking if we had any questions about the sizes or paperwork. We were on our way there to finalize everything and spoke to her in person and she was even more helpful on site. She was more than willing to show us multiple units so we got the right size we needed and made the sign up process quick and easy as possible! Ms. Mary was amazing I was at the brink of losing my storage to the auction at my wits end. She was able to assist me and reassure me that I wasn't going to lose my storage. She helped me too resolve the problem. I don't even shop at the location where I was serviced my initial service with N Cypress. She is a true blessing. OMG! The manager at this place is the DEFINITION of “customer service”!!! Ms. Mary has been a sweetheart and a lifesaver for me personally. She’s always been warm, friendly, knowledgeable, insightful; and she doesn’t make me feel like she’s just there to collect my money; ya know? She really cares about the needs of the individuals she serves! When I was in between jobs for a few weeks, she helped me to keep my storage by being understanding and working with me, and even when I was panicking and unsure of what was going to happen, she was very calming and reassuring! She doesn’t mind jumping up and pausing what she’s doing to go out and physically put eyes on your concern and she moves with urgency, without making you feel like you’re inconveniencing her, unlike so many customer service reps these days…I’m telling you I absolutely adore her! She is a GEM to this company! I don’t remember who I worked with when I first got my storage unit over a yr ago, but it wasn’t her! Not that they did anything wrong or incorrect; it’s just Ms Mary really cares about getting her customers’ needs met, and her passion to do so is blatantly apparent. N I’m here for it! Worst customer service on the phone. I called for the first time in my life to find the pricing and after I said the phrase that it’s out of my budget, he laughed at me and cancel the call. I wish i remember the guy’s name to mention it here. He was so selling and nice in the beginning, but so rude and disrespectful at the end. If it is first contact with the company, I afraid the same type of people I will meet at the storage if I choose to rent it.

Our 12’ x 22’ unit was rented in October 2020 along with a second unit for a promo price which was $143 per month for the second unit. Price increases in May to $178 when we eliminated one unit. This January they increased our price to $234.00! That is how they treat long term customers - bait and switch increases! In less than one year our rate increases by $91.00!!! Even if we ignore the promo rate that is still an increase of $56.00 in less than a year!!!! Inflation or gouging - we don’t have power and the unit has a torn and crumbling ceiling insulation and mice.
