The History of Spring

The city was originally constructed as a railroad town, and the depot that gave birth to much of the area's development is still in operation to the south. The area was first settled in the mid-1800s as a busy farming community centered on cotton and sugarcane. The Old Town Spring Museum offers memorabilia from the bustling train town that once existed here.

The town also has several green spaces and parks, including the Mercer Arboretum and Botanic Gardens, which offers a library, children's play spaces, a tea house and an endangered species garden that features a beaver pond.
