I have absolutely no idea how this place has so many five star reviews. I can't say enough bad things about this facility. 1. Price. My rate started at $176/mo in July of 2021. For comparison, the starting rate at my new unit for the exact same size and kind (10x15 climate controlled) was $68/mo. New unit is in a similarly busy and developed area (Harbison/Irmo). It then went up to $215/mo in Jan of '22, $261/mo in Nov of '22, and then finally, $322/mo in Dec of '23. An 83% increase in my rate with absolutely no appreciable improvements in service or features and, in fact, even fewer features than when I had first moved in (more on that later). The final hike which is when I decided that the irritation of renting a truck and moving everything to a new unit was absolutely worth it to save my self almost four thousand dollars a year. Every time I spoke to someone at the front desk or corporate, I was told there was nothing they could do, that the rates were in line with other storage units (absolute nonsense) and that I had been sent email and physical mail notices that my rates would be increasing. I never once received a notification about a rate increase. 2. Facilities. The main climate controlled building has two bathrooms. They have been permanently padlocked shut since late 2022. I asked about this at the front desk and was given no logical answer as to why. I asked to use the restroom in the office but was told I was not allowed. I contacted corporate to complain and was told to get over it. When I pointed out to them that it was likely an ADA violation, they got incredibly short and rude with me and basically told me to **** off and then ended the chat. The keypad-locked door from the entry way into the storage unit area on the first floor does not fully shut and latch on its own. Very secure. You have to put in your code to get OUT of the gated parking area, which I'm fairly certain is a fire code violation at worst, and irritating at best. The keypad to get out is so close to the gate that it is almost impossible to use it if you are driving anything like a pickup or a moving truck. You have to almost pull up to where your bumper is touching the fence to reach it. Why on earth is it so far forward? The parking lot/loading area is incredibly narrow and while turning around a full-size pickup is irritating but doable, good luck with a trailer or a moving truck, especially the 26 footers. Hope you have three spotters and are ready to make a 37 point turn. 3. Personnel. The only good interaction I ever had with a Public Storage employee, whether it was in person, on the phone, or on the live chat, was the conversation that I had when I canceled my unit. If they had been that helpful when I was their customer, I might have stuck around a bit longer. I can't understand the need to absolutely screw over your existing customers with massive, unreasonable, unexplainable, untenable rate hikes. I mean, I know why they do it, it's because they know you'll put up with it because moving all your stuff again is a nightmare, so they keep milking you dry. But when I go on the website for this location literally right now, the introductory rate for a 10x15 climate controlled is $169/mo, almost half of what my final rate was. So clearly, they don't *need* customers to pay $322/mo for their services, they just know they've got you by the balls and they're going to squeeze.

Diedra Williams is a phenomenal and a outstanding woman. Very great hospitally and to who this may concern it is in my best judgement that commercial business need more people like her to represent their company. Alot of businesses today are not big on giving outstanding customer service and remaining humble under all kinds of pressure and dealing with different types of personality and different types of situations to deal with when they arise. It is also my best judgement that Mrs. Williams be recognize for her great workmanship and hospitallity service that she gives. Mrs. Williams gives off the energy as a person that always remain calm and never gets upsets. If she wasn't working for this company I would hire her with no hesitation and I would pay top pay. Mrs. Williams is definitely an asset to public storage.
