It was a lot better under life storage. They are now more expensive, have pretty limited hours, and I personally detest entering in my code just to leave (it used to be an automatic gate on the way out). The climate controlled interior is barely better than outside in the winter. My hands went numb in the building late December. There are only two parking spots at the storage building, so it fills up quickly if you have bad timing. The facility itself is well kempt. The garage doors work well and the elevator is very good.

I must say that I have been renting for about 5-6 yrs now from this specific location and have had, 1st a private owner with Penfield Storage, 2nd a corporate owner with Life Storage and now currently I'm renting storage space with another corporate owner Public Storage. I "(personally)" so far haven't had any issues yet in all my years and owner/business corporation/franchise changes. By far though, I honestly must say that one of my all time favorite managers I've had the pleasure of dealing with in all my years of renting was with Ariana who is the current manager of Public Storage. From day 1 she has been very attentive and kind. She has answered all of my many questions and has always been available when I needed her "(inside business hours of course)" She made my moving transitions fast, simple, easy and honestly, quick and enjoyable. She is a literal absolute delight and a complete 100% asset to the Puiblic Storage company as a whole. Truthfully she's the main reason that I needn't look elsewhere for storage space. Thanks to Ariana and her sweet and kind nature as well as absolutely mind blowing customer service qualities and abilities I will 100% recommend this specific storage facility to anyone in need or searching to store there precious and personal belongings. I'm unsure of how all Public Storage locations are but from "(my own)" personal experience, I can 100% say without a doubt that this Penfield, NY Public Storage Facility is a literal dream! As long as you have a wonderfully attentive and supportive manager/employee like Ariana then you are in great hands. Honestly, I know ive seen previous reviews or issues as far as late fees go but... truthfully "(in my opinion)" there pretty fair with the time frame that the late fee is tacked on "(by the 5th-6th of every month)" and it's really not that big of a charge compared to other storage companies I've used or seen previous friends, family, etc. Use. (Actual Late fee monthly 1 time charge is $38 not huge in comparison). I could go on and on in regards to how wonderful of an experience I've had with the Penfield, NY Public Storage but I'll leave it at this... You cannot go wrong with this location "(In my opinion)". Also, I would highly recommend this place. Thank you Public Storage for making my experience "(so far)" with you. A enjoyable one and again... Thank you so much to Ariana for being so accommodating and sweet to me. You have a customer for life. Whenever I have storage needs I will be renting space with you all. I agree with another customer in these reviews. The last two owners were great and I have been with that storage unit for 5 years. Public storage is it disgrace of a company. They are as greedy and crooked as they get. They cut the pay of the management position to the point where it is no longer a living wage and the last manager had to leave because of it And she was great. They call and harass you if you're a few days late even though the contract says you have until the last day of the month to pay before collection proceedings are initiated. They make you buy insurance or prove that you have homeowners insurance I can't believe that's legal. I have already made arrangements to move my stuff to another storage facility perhaps I will go back to life storage. Don't let public storage treat you this way this is a very very competitive business and there are lots places that do much better job. They don't even offer the same 24-hour access that life storage did.

**Ripoff Alert** Avoid the location if you can. The previous two owners (one a private individual and then LifeStorage) were great. Had for years set up auto-debit for monthly rent--no problem. Had to fill out all sorts of info and decline all sorts of "extras" (but you still are required to have their insurance--no option, and a ripoff) and set up auto-debit. For whatever reason, it didn't auto-debit from my account and after just 15 days I received an email to logon and it said my storage unit was going to be auctioned off (for being 15 days late--when I'd set up auto-debit and they didn't do it). I called and the lady at the site had absolutely no idea and just told me to go and set it up again. Now they charged $38 late fee (for their mistake) and absolutely no recourse. This IS A SCAM. I URGE EVERYONE TO AVOID this company. I am filing a complaint with the New York State Attorney General's office as I expect this is their common practice.

I am so grateful for ERI help. She’s incredibly patient and very knowledgeable. She really went over and beyond her duties. I am new to the area and I couldn’t find anybody else that had all the storage that I needed. It was reasonably priced.

I came into Public Storage twice now. First I dealt with Eri. She was so considerate. This is a very difficult time for me. She was so helpful and supportive. There was another facility I was considering, but after how Eri treated me, I knew this was the right place. I css as me into rent and dealt with Kathy and Amanda. Again having a difficult time. They treated like Eri treated me. They gave me patience because my mind just wasn’t where I needed it to be. I felt they really did care.

Eri was great, made the process quick and easy.
