This Saturday I moved my belongings from a 10x10 unit to a different 10x10 unit because Public Storage threatened to raise my rent again and the prices on the website were $100+ cheaper than what I had been paying per month. There is always 1 worker on site (who was at lunch when I was to arrive). And they have 2 storage carts for the whole building. If only finding a better storage place was that easy.

Jim, a helpful representative of Public Storage gave me a tour and made the process simple and streamlined. He was friendly and courteous. Looking forward to getting familiar with the property.

I rented an outside, drive-up storage unit back in December for a discounted price. I needed to store my 2015 Scion FRS for the winter. I knew it had a an old, non stock battery and probably would die over the long sitting period in the cold, so I let it be to replace the battery in the spring. I took an Uber to the location and was prepared with jumper cables. Sure enough, the battery was completely dead in storage. I contacted my sister to come meet me when she got out of work to help me jump the car. She would have had to leave 15 mins early, sit in traffic and drive 20 mins out of the way to come help me, plus I was going to sit around for about an hour +. As I walked towards the gate to the entrance, a savior named GLORIA saw me about to leave on foot and asked if everything was OK. I explained my situation and told her I was going to walk up the highway to find somewhere to wait and get food cause I was hungry. Her first concern was that I was hungry or thirsty, but realized I was just stranded until I got a jump. She said she would go talk to her co-worker MIKE to see if he could give me a jump. Mike happily obliged and grabbed his SUV to meet me over by my unit. We were able to jump the car and get it running and Gloria came over to check on us and take a look at the car, since she is really into rarer cars. She instantly liked my car and we had a great conversation and looked over the car while we were waiting for the battery to charge. Gloria & Mike not only saved me a huge headache and a long wait, but also kept my sister from having to leave work early and sit in unnecessary traffic to get to me. I thank them both for caring enough to want to help. From the moment of renting the unit through JIM back in December until now, I have had a wonderful experience and will admit I will continue to do business with this location in the future!

we were looking for a storage near by where we are moving, for some reason website showed this place the closest (in reality it is not so it is inaccurate description) when i realized it is 20+ mins from where i am gonna be, i tried calling the same day(2/23) but after hours could not reach any body, i did not leave and i called the next morning (2/24) explained them the situation, and by the way move in date is still 2/29, they did not fully refund my money, on a storage i've never used, so no obligation cancellation is going to cost you fees which is not mentioned, i was gonna book with their closer location which was Montville, i was not even offer i could use a different location, the lady rushed to hang up the phone so case is closed, will look for a different company!

The entire place is a scam. From the person at front desk to the regional manager. They will charge your card without authorization. They will extend your contract then automatically deduct the money from your account. They will switch your non automatic payment to auto pay... the regional Manger is non existent.. Jim was great

Jim has been very nice and we have no complaints with him or the cleanliness of the property, but his hands are tied because of Public Storage’s corporate office and their greed. They ADVERTISE CHEAP RATES BUT IT’S NOT FOR LONG! Our unit rental in Morris Plains, NJ was RAISED by a total of $118.00 a MONTH and we were already paying a ridiculously high rate.They will not hesitate to do it again. As of February 27, 2023, the same size storage unit, on the same floor as ours is $222.00 LESS PER MONTH than we are paying. We are paying DOUBLE that amount each month. The corporate office told us to move our belongings across the hallway so we can get the cheaper rate. We understand that rental fees rise, but PUBLIC STORAGE’s increases are UNFAIR and UNREASONABLE. PLEASE DO NOT use PUBLIC STORAGE!

My son and I both have storage units at Morris Plains. The facility is immaculate and recently painted and freshened up. There are always carts around also. But more importantly, the manager Jim, explained EVERYTHING Very Thoroughly and Professionally. He even remembers my voice then my name when I've contacted the facility, which is unheard of nowadays. You truly feel like he cares about us as customers and the facility itself. I would recommend Jim and this storage facility to anyone. Thanks Jim!

So, in order of transparency, I initially gave this a three-star review because, you know, going to storage is a bit of a purgatory. But while I was sitting on the loo hiding from my tasks, the actually very nice and funny attendant calls me to ask about those the stars. (I'm still on the loo, writing, literally 30 feet away). Since he's genuinely funny and friendly, and it's kind of uncommon to meet someone who cares, I can't but upgrade to a five. It's actually a good place as storage goes. A little expensive after a few years of course like everyone else, and I haven't yet found the cocktail bar to forget my memorabilia in my unit, but it is more than decent. But it's the staff that makes the difference.

My husband and I made plans to travel from Maine to NJ to remove our belongings from our Morris Plains storage unit. We needed to coordinate a PODS delivery and be sure the POD was placed inside the gate near the doors closest to our unit. Additionally, we were hoping that someone at Public Storage would be able to assist PODS with this in the event we had not arrived by the time the POD was delivered. On the day I contacted Public Storage to inquire about this, I spoke with Jim. I shared our plans and my concerns since we were attempting to coordinate this from out of state. From start to finish, Jim was phenomenal. He calmly reassured us that the POD could be delivered and placed where we needed it, and that he would be on site to assist as needed if we had not yet arrived. "Take your time," he said. Despite the traffic along the drive we made it to the facility in time for the delivery. We had a chance to talk with Jim who helped us guide the PODS driver to the correct location in the parking lot. Jim also provided us a temporary gate code so that we could access the POD one last time after we had already been removed from their system. It is rare nowadays to encounter someone with Jim's level of professionalism and easy going demeanor, who goes above and beyond to help customers. He is clearly someone who has a well-versed understanding of providing outstanding customer service. Thank you Jim for making a stressful process enjoyable!

Heather immediately went over the pricing for my size unit. She told me I’ve been over paying. She was able to get me into the same size unit at a fraction of the cost. I couldn’t be happier.
