This was my first time getting a storage unit, and I was quite confused and needed help with a few things. Luckily, Zee, a worker from this public storage facility, was on-site and reassured me about my concerns regarding the app and other features. She definitely made my experience easier and less complicated compared to a previous location I had contacted.
I recently started renting at the Walled Lake location last week. However, I had spoken with Zee from the Farmington Hills location yesterday and she helped me out tremendously and was even happy to do so! I recommend everyone to go to the Farmington Hills location! I'm even thinking about getting my storage there instead.

I called because the amount on my account was not adding up to me. I made a lump sum payment and I needed to know exactly how it was applied. Worst experience I’ve ever had. The day I moved in I paid movers to move all my things and was locked out of the unit for hours. They said they fixed it, I went back the next week to get my things and same issue. Someone told me my rent was prorated so I’m not double charged for September but then I was still charged over $200 for the unit and then paid another $200 for the same month, my things haven’t even been in there for 30 days. I’ve had nothing but issues. They close early and you won’t have access to anything. Find another place
Samantha is one of the nicest, most pheasant person to talk to. She answered my phone call right away and was when it was raining she came running over to provide me with a umbrella. This is the best over delivery customer service and will always return to Public Storage!!! Thank you again!!!

Horrible customer service. Dude wouldn't even acknowledge us at the door. Just stared at us as we knocked. He needed to do the bare minimum to keep my business but he couldn't handle that.

It’s like the workers come and go as they please I buy storage units and been doing it for 10+ year and every since it went online the workers leave work and don’t be at the locations it’s Terrible then we only have 48 to clean our units it 3:29pm right now and no one is on site at this location

I see my original review was removed. Trying to collect money from me for 2 months after I vacated the unit. Left 2 voicemails to advise because no one was there the day I moved out. When I inquired about the charges, the girl told me they had to cut the lock off my unit. I told her I don't know what lock they cut off because I have the one that I purchased and locked my unit with. Today I got a call from collections. I made sure they had my new address and told them I will see them in court. DON'T RENT FROM HERE
This location has the best customer service ever. Janice and Tisha show compassion, kindness, professionalism and they always have smiles on their faces. The service here is excellent. Please hire more employees like these women.
On 10-31-2023 I came into Public Storage stressed and hard pressed just before closing time. T and Janice were so kind and professional. They assisted me in getting my storage unit completed while addressing all my concerns. Great team!! Customer service is more important than the actual service and they demonstrated that.

I intended to use their storage facility for 1-2 years, but they raised my rates 25% after 4 months!! I could never reach anyone by phone and they don't return calls. I expressed my dissatisfaction about the rate increase via email and they "lowered" my rate back to what it originally was for 3 more months. It was enough time for me to find another storage facility. I still had to pay the increased amount for one month because they don't adjust bills. What a pain!!!

I like this storage facility because it's indoors. But they had briefly removed the carts from the loading/unloading area because people were taking them. The only way to get a cart was during business hours and you had to leave your license with the clerk until you returned the cart. Today, when I went there the carts were back in the loading/unloading where customers to access them without checking in with a clerk. I hope it stays that way!
I recently rented a storage unit from Public Storage, and I have to say that the experience was top-notch. The facility was clean and well-maintained, and the security measures were impressive. I felt confident that my belongings were safe and secure at all times.
But what really stood out to me was the exceptional customer service I received from Kathy. From the moment I walked in the door, she greeted me warmly and made me feel welcome. She took the time to listen to my needs and helped me choose the right storage unit for my belongings. She was patient and thorough in explaining the rental process and answering all my questions.
Throughout my rental period, Kathy continued to provide excellent service. She was always available to assist me with any concerns or issues that arose, and she went above and beyond to make sure my experience was a positive one.
Overall, I highly recommend Public Storage, and I would like to give a special shout-out to Kathy for her outstanding customer service. She truly made a difference in my experience and is a valuable asset to the company.

The property managers are a joy to work with. Kathy and Latisha are friendly and efficient . Unfortunately they work under the handicap of a corporation that is not customer friendly.
Frequent large increases in rent are to be expected . The average increase is 25-30 percent and there is nothing that the managers can do about it. Once you are "hooked" by the initial discounted offer, you can expect to have regular large price increases even if you are a good customer. Price increases are to be expected in this industry, but the size and frequency of the increases are almost criminal and take place without regard for promptness of rent payment or longevity of rental.
There are no carts available for bulky items as there once were when they first opened. There is no bulletin board so that renters might be able to communicate with each other and the basic design of the place is terrible, one vehicle unloading/loading can prevent others from having access to the loading area. Also,the corporation understaffs the facility so that it is not unusual for the office to be locked. Other storage facilities that I have used always had a staff member in the office during business hours.
The management here is great! Public Storage is not so great!

Want to kill your business and scare people away from it? Be cheap with basic amenities.
People stealing carts? Buy more and dont punish your other customers for the actions of the few. Also hiding them from people in the office makes it so you only have access to them when the office is open. This isn't a prison.
I had to buy my own cart because this place it too cheap to buy more.
I been using public storage for years. Mostly in Waterford store. But the only thing I do not like about this location is it was built wrong. The closed in area is way to small. But the lady Kathy is very nice and trys to help anyway she. Can. 2 carts only unreal

They call back right away and ask to come to close the registration, and refuse to honor the offer.

LaTisha and Kathy are very professional and accommodating. The storage facility is kept very clean. No issues with elevators or doors, just wish there were more carts and more interior parking. As with any storage facility be mindful of the substantial possible 6 month rate increase if you are planning on using the facility long term.

We walked into the location and met with the Manager LaTisha, who was a God Send. She was very, pleasant, very professional as well as knowledgeable. She showed us different sizes and helped us figure out the best way to go. I recommend this location. It is clean, well maintained modern and new.
