The staff that work here are incredibly helpful and friendly. The spaces are clean and secure--you need to have a special access code to get inside the facility. And the prices were better than many of the competitors in the area. Would recommend to anyone looking for storage space.

The staff is excellent. But they have the thermostat set for 82 degrees and it feels more like 92 degrees. Deadly temperatures when you’re moving things. Everyone going in and out was complaining on how hot and sickly they feel. The thermostat is set way too high!!!

Updated: After waiting nearly 2 hours for the elevator to work - we flagged a few employees asking if there was a way we can still get access to our basement unit as our UHaul rental was expiring that evening. They graciously allowed us access to the basement through the side door and while the broken elevator wasn't their fault, they tried to make it right by granting us access to the basement unit through the stairwell exit. They even offered to help carry a few items down the stairs. Management called me to apologize for the inconvenience as well and assured me that the elevators are being fixed today. Thank you for listening to your customer's feedback and making it right! 5 star service but still far from ideal storage experience as the elevator seem to be frequently broken since I moved my things in just a few months ago. Two pieces of feedback for management: 1. Please improve the consistency of the elevator to ensure they work within the hours of access. In the event the elevators break or are out of service - there has to be a contingency plan / procedure to allow customers can access their unit. 2. There seems to only be 4 carts for the entire facility. Please consider doubling the amount of available carts (at least during the weekends or peak moving times) to ensure your customers are able to move things in / out of their units easily. Original: It is currently 6 o’clock on a Sunday evening and we have been waiting for about an hour to be able to access our storage unit in the basement that I paid over $1,500+ for. We rented a U-Haul to be able to move our stuff from our home into the storage unit only for the elevator to break halfway through the move. I’m now left with half of a U-Haul of our stuff and I’ve been sitting around in the parking lot for the last hour and a half waiting for someone to fix the elevator. I called management and also spoke to someone who seem to be working on the elevator at the time, but the elevator still remain broken. This is the second time this has happened in the last two months where a long line of disappointed customers are left waiting and trying to get to their units that they cannot access. The most basic aspect of renting from a storage unit is expecting that you are able to access your items within the listed hours… and the fact that there is NO OTHER ACCESS to our property when the elevators fail is APPALLING!

The air-conditioned storage is nice and well kept, but my $99 move in special quickly became $350 per month. At least move out as seamless and hassle-free.

After much run around and phone calls to try and finalize my rental, I ended up here where Rodney Carter was most helpful. He was able to get accomplished everything I needed done and explained all the cost and fees associated with getting my unit squared away. Even after I came back for further explanation, he patiently showed me how the billing was set up and how everything was broken down for cost and payment. Thank you Rodney for all your help!

I was at this PS site on Frederick Road in Rockville, MD for two days last week. On the first day, I spoke with Lucas about a couple of concerns. Lucas was great and responded to my questions -- getting results quickly. The next day, i returned to the office and spoke with both Lucas and Cliff briefly. They were both responsive and went out of their way to provide helpful information. While i have not always found Public Storage responsive to customers' concerns, the staff at this site were very helpful and professional!

I never really post reviews but they asked and honestly one of the best experiences I’ve had. I made the mistake of ordering the wrong storage unit and was helped out immensely! Saturday, September 24th around 4 pm, I forgot to get the name of the person that helped me but he was so kind and understanding and truly helped me upgrade my storage unit and actually showed me different unit sizes physically so I could see what I was getting myself into and the prices along with it as well. I would rent here 1000000000000x over anywhere else. I really liked my experience here and the people are extremely helpful.

Public Storage Rockville is very user friendly online and employees have been super helpful and very friendly - especilly Lucas! Highly recommend. And using also down in Sarasota FL.

Ruize is the nicest guy here he was very helpful and informative and answered all my questions and very patience.

The customer service was exceptional and we able to lock in on a great rate even when there was a discrepancy with actual storage space we requested, our associate ensured we got correct storage unit. Our move in was extremely smooth with direct and easy access to loading area.

When I went to my storage unit on Thursday, some piece of the metal in the lock snapped when I tried to slide it open. I went to the office and Lucas the manager at the Frederick Rd location came to take a look. Fortunately, he had tools brought from home in his car and was able to regain access to the unit and fix the broken lock. I really appreciate that he was able to personally address the problem right away instead of having to wait a long time or make another visit the following day.

If you need a storage unit in Montgomery County, MD this is the place where you should rent! I used this facility when I lived in the area and kept my items here for the past 3 years after moving to Florida. This Public Storage at 16001 Frederick Road is clean, safe, and convenient (you could walk from the Shady Grove metro if you don't have a car and the recycling center is adjacent.) But, best of all = the team who work here!! Aaron and Ruize are some of the most helpful and and knowledgeable people. Since I no longer live in the area, I recently spent a week emptying my unit. During this grueling project they offered advice and friendship! They take pride in this Public Storage location and you can count on excellent customer service here.

This review is for the whole public storage not this location, I made a mistake of selecting an unit that has a stair access instead of an elevator, i caught the error just as soon as i hit enter to pay for the unit, called to cancel the unit and I got the other unit that i needed and they refused to refund me the $29 administration fee, no matter that was an error and was solved within minutes and I got the extra unit that i needed. This is not good customer service when we ask for help.

Super easy! I drove up, unlocked the gate with my phone, and looked for my unit. When I couldn't find it, I visited the office and spoke to Aaron. He was able to immediately answer my question and even came out to check on our progress. Everything was ready for my rental and the space was clean.

I have utilized numerous storage units in this area and I finally found a representative who has gone above and beyond my expectations(see my other reviews on Google, I am serious about quality of service from an enjoyable experience at Ruth Chris on down to an absolutely horrible one when I purchased a four year old Lexus at Koons in Woodbridge thumbs 👇). Mr. Bisrat is of a 'dying breed' who bends over backwards to ensure the highest quality of service. This is unusual when referencing today's generation and that is coming from a 46 year old! I highly recommend asking for him when renting a storage unit here. I recently had two back surgeries and Mr. Bisrat's sympathy, empathy and compassion compelled him to help me from start to finish without complaining but rather ensuring I did no heavy lifting. I was amazed. I cannot say enough about him and I hope that his management team recognizes this young man's potential and promise(hint hint😂).

I had my space for about two years. I would still have it if I hadn't lost my job. Every time I needed help from the office everyone was kind, courteous and helpful. The facility was well taken care of and easy to access. Even on my move out day, the staff was incredibly kind. Overall it was a great experience!

Aaron went over and above today for me. I showed up early this morning after reserving at around midnight. He was pleasant, helpful, and understanding. When I came back with our caravan, it was immediately apparent that the original locker was not big enough. He set us up with a larger one. He and his associate also assisted us in getting items started in the locker. I would def come here again the next time I am in the need.
