The facility on Christopher ave looks run down. No temperature control. Lighting is horrible. You need to put some form of lighting in your own unit. Elevators are slow. Never enough hand carts. The app is iffy and annoying. Rent rises way more than it should given how subpar the facilities are kept. For same price and less one can easily find better facilities.

SAMINA located at 370 Christopher Avenue Gaithersburg, Maryland 20879 was very professional, friendly as well as helpful. She was coming in from the units and hurried to accommodate me before I reached my vehicle to leave.
I have read reviews and it sounds great, but and there is always a but. When I moved in I noticed one elevator down. Now as I am finishing the second one goes down. PM response was you have to carry your stuff up. It's clear they have technical, and preventive maintenance issue. Do not come here unless you are on the first floor. There are even signs telling you what not to do or the elevator will break down that's a sign that we have old stuff and are unwilling to correct the issue due to cost.

Originally, we had a great rate for our storage unit but overtime the rate continually increased. I can expect some small increases but being raised to $150 for a “4x10” storage unit is a tad absurd. Especially when the elevator closest to our unit was routinely out of service, the “climate control” was mediocre at best, and the place was pretty dirty. These issues were put into stark contrast when we moved all of our things to Extra Space Storage. The place is immaculate and far exceeds everything that public storage attempts to offer. Bigger units, cleaner, and better service. I will not be returning to Public storage anytime soon. Do yourself a favor and head down 270 to Extra Space Storage.

We had a wonderful experience with Public Storage. Their e-app was easy to use and very convenience going in and out to put stuff in and take stuff out. Their rate was reasonable. We will definitely use this location again if we need to store our belongings in the future.

Absolutely my pleasure working with Bisrat -the Christopher Avenue property manager. He took the time to make sure we understood our space options, and ultimately that we were comfortable in the space we rented. Bisrat walked me through every step, and patiently answered all my questions while smiling. Truly such a huge asset to this location; and should you not find what you’re looking for here, he will make sure you have other options (where available) and that you get the best price.
There are also daily property checks, to make sure all units are secured. There’s no question that I feel very confident in storing here, and highly recommend this location. FYI: Be sure to check online at the PS site; pricing varies by location, but it is always cheaper on the site. I suggest making a unit reservation to lock in the price - it is free of charge and doesn’t commit you, but it holds the unit and offers the steps to rent it if need be.

Mark from this location took it upon himself to call me on a Saturday to 1) check that I had vacated not been robbed, and 2) complete my vacate notice without me having to take time to go online - I appreciate his diligence and initiative. Further, even though I was no longer a client, Mark promised he would contact his district manager regarding an unresolved corporate issue; the low rating is not due to the staff at this location nor the state of this facility, it is because Public Storage is not a responsive corporate entity.
