The place itself is great, but the constant rate changing every year is absolutely terrible and can't wait to move my things out. I have an extremely small storage room and every year the price goes up I started at 89 dollars now I am at 182 dollars a month for a unit that new customer pay 67 dollars for then it would go up to 83 dollars. How about recognizing loyalty or if your gonna jack the price up I need to see actual changes to your facility that would explain that price. Because if I stayed here one day I would easily be paying probly 300 dollars for a 10x5 unit.

My brother has rented a unit here for the past two years or so while traveling internationally. His rate went up about $50 every six months and he needed to find alternative storage because of price. The man working the office, Tyler, was so personable and sympathetic to my brothers needs! He hooked him up with a smaller unit, new rate, and a trolley to facilitate the move. Tyler was 100% transparent and patient with our questions. We were in and out within an hour and managed to have fun while doing it. We walked in somewhat disgruntled and walked out high-fiving each other! The price rate changes are a pain in the butt BUT the staff there made up all the difference.

Tyler is awesome! He provides top tier customer service and is very patient. He goes above and beyond to appropriately anticipate the customers’ needs, while also being friendly and professional. He has a great sense of humor; which is refreshing during a time one is making stressful move preparations. I signed up right away after my tour with him. The location is super clean and modern with prices hard to beat at other locations. The covered garage area for ones moving truck/vehicle is an added plus. I am glad I explored this location.😊

Very professional. Clean well run facility

I've been here for almost 5 years now and they have always been nice clean units. Within the past 2 years there have been at least 2 or 3 price increases plus they add for insurance. I live in Minnesota and not here often but I have to make a trip out and move to a more affordable storage facility.

The storage facility is the best I've seen. Super clean, great options on sizes and indoor/outdoor, long hours of access. Tyler and Shannon in the Valpo office are super friendly and helpful and don't make me feel ridiculous for asking questions or needing help more than I feel like I should. I have had storage units quite a bit and this is by far the best experience I've ever had!

I've had my unit for about 7 yrs. Started paying $95 now it's $172. When new people get same size I got for around $100 a month. I don't think that's right at all.

I have rented storage units from many places in the area, no comparison, these guys are great, they are always very helpful and friendly. The facility is always perfectly clean, cannot recommend enough :-)

I would like to commend Shannon and Tyler for the tremendous job they do here. I have been renting a unit for several months and have had some difficult issues plague me of late. Both Shannon and Tyler were extremely helpful in managing my account and making sure all was well. I have had no problems with given times of service or security. I feel very safe when there at ANY time morning or night. I am very happy with Simply Storage and their facility...couldn't have picked a better place if I tried. THANKS SO MUCH SHANNON AND TYLER!

We have a 5x10 indoor storage unit. The location isn't on a main street which I like. There is a "garage" you can pull into to unload and flat carts to take your stuff to unit. Space is clean and well lit.

I don’t get all the positive reviews that this facility is getting. I personally had a not so pleasant experience. They are not very clear when it comes to late fees and payment dates. They tell you one thing and then you find out that the information given is incorrect. When I talked to the property manager, Shannon, about this, she became very rude and condescending. I won’t even get into how she belittled me. But I will mention that she literally told me that i was a problem and to move out and go to the competitor. I will never do business with this company ever again!

I kept my business materials at Simply Storage for 7 years. The facility is clean, warm (I had indoor storage) and always well-lit, the staff is friendly and access was easy. I appreciated the the pull-in garage during the cold and rainy weather. I also appreciated the complimentary dolly carts. My storage space made managing my materials easy.

Simply Self Storage on Locust in Valparaiso was a 5 star experience due to the professionalism delivered with kindness by Tyler! My experience started with a thorough discussion with Shannon via phone. She was very professional and knowledgeable during our call. Once I arrived, Shannon was busy and said she would have her associate assist me. To my delight I was assisted by Tyler. Kind, professional, helpful, and went out of his way to even secure my unit as I just returned from a Dr appointment and was having a lot of shoulder discomfort. He opened my lock, secured my newly rented unit, and returned the keys after labeling them for me. Tyler is an exceptional employee and he went above and beyond to assist me. Simply Self Storage is lucky to have both Tyler and Shannon as employees. Also, please Thank Tyler if you see him, as he has a brother that proudly served our country as a Marine. I know first hand the sacrifices that families of Military members face. Thank you Tyler and GOD Bless you and your family.

We rented a 20x20' storage unit in a climate controlled building for the past 10 months and were very pleased with the facility. Shannon (facility manager) was very helpful throughout the process of procuring the unit. We were very happy with the condition and maintenence of the climate controlled storage building. There was never a hint of humidity inside. The ease of using the facility was incredible. It had a large covered entry so you could keep your things dry while loading or unloading (even from large commercial moving trucks). There were also several heavy duty flat carts available for moving things from your truck or unit. I would highly recommend this facility!

Staff is very pleasant. Had no issues with security cameras everywhere (be warned you'll get caught) will use them again. Had 32 ft motor home there.

I came in about a week ago to check out the storage units, pricing, etc. Tyler was amazing. He showed me a few units and was extremely polite. He answered all of my questions without making me feel like an idiot. He went above and beyond.

I love this place, my storage is safe an dry, an I know there's cheaper locations but this storage facility is the absolutely the best!!!

I got the smallest unit available for $60/month starting in August of 2021. They charged me correctly for the first prorated month since I started my service on the 23rd of August. Each subsequent month since then they have overcharged me $15. I have been trying to cancel this service since November of 2021. I have gone to their office 4 times during their "open hours" and it has been closed each time. I have called once a week since November and left several voicemails. No response. I'm busy and am barely in Valpo due to work. Horrible experience at best. *** EDIT *** I was mistaken, my agreement was for $66/month. However, was still being charged an extra $9/month. After speaking with Shannon (the on-site manager that is very lovely and helpful) I understood that I was being charged $9 for mandatory insurance. That's all fine except for the fact that I was never told about insurance at any point and I never received any receipts for my monthly payments. Again, SHANNON WAS GREAT AND VERY HELPFUL. I was very happy with how she handled everything and the resolution she found. Unfortunately I had the pleasure of speaking with her district manager for final approval. Things got worse when I was connected with the district-manager who did not name themselves. She was immediately cold and condescending on the call. She explained everything to me as if I was a child in the middle of snacking on some crayons. I repeatedly told her that I only had a single email form them since the start of the service in August. (The email was from starting my service in August). She told me that was impossible and made it seem like it was somehow my fault. The district-manager is likely why simply storage has any negative reviews. She did not seem interested in hearing me out and insisted that everything was made clear to me at the time of signing (it wasn't by any means). I made it clear that my issue was transparency and accessibility to fixing the issues. I would've liked to know that I needed insurance and that they were going to charge me for it if I didn't procure my own. It wasn't stated anywhere on the receipt I received in person after paying for the first month and it wasn't in any email since I didn't receive any from September 2021 - January 2022. Once again, SHANNON IS GREAT AND DESERVES A BETTER DISTRICT MANAGER. She is the only reason I changed my rating from a 1 to a 3 star.
