I have read the reviews and see that most ratings deal with the employees at the actual physical facility which is great. But this review is mostly about dealing with online billing and national customer service. I have two units with Public Storage. When I got the first one, I could pay online which was great. I got a second unit, and at the time they told me they couldn’t combine my two accounts into one online account. I’d have to pay my existing unit online, and the new one on the phone. This was fine for a while. Up until last month. The phone feature is usually great. It lets you pay with a $0 service fee (and why should there be a fee? They were unable to make my second unit accessible online.) But LAST month, I wasn’t able to pay on the phone since that was my only option. The phone menu was broken. I pressed keys on my phone and the menu didn’t pick it up. So I had to talk to a person. They understood and waived the “pay on the phone to a person fee” to make my payment. I figured it would be fixed by the next month. However this month (today), same thing. Can’t pay online, phone menu broken, and had to talk to a person. I called and long story short, they wanted to charge $10 to pay using a person. I explained it was already their fault I couldn’t pay online, the phone option wasn’t working, why not waive the $10 fee? They insisted that the $10 fee was standard, and I told them I never had to pay a $10 fee. I put them on hold and did a 3-way call with the automated payment system to show them it wasn’t working and that the system didn’t charge a $10 fee. But they hung up. I was finally able to make the payment by mashing the “2” button over and over. I can’t believe it worked and doubt it will work next time. I’ll have to face the same situation again. I’m sure I’ll be told I can talk with the local manager to make the payment free of charge, but the process for the automated system should work. ——— Second, over the course of a year, my rent has gone up $31 (regrettably) from $99 to $130 the late fee has gone up $6 from $20 to $26. I never want to pay late, but sometimes it’s a reality. They lure you in and then after you’ve paid movers hundreds to get you there, they raise the cost. Very smart. It’s cheaper for me to pay the raised rate than to pay movers to get me out. I’m sure the local staff is great, but this is a national company. I expect more from the outrageous hikes and late fees.

I have rented storage at the 5030 Keystone location for a few years. The transition to Public Storage was seamless when they purchased this location. Facility is kept clean. Staff has always been helpful. Helped with a rate reduction. Mary assisted me when I recently closed one of my 2 units, which I no longer needed. She was very polite, helpful and provided me with the closing paperwork without asking.

Mary was very kind and helpful when I came into the office today to make my payment. She was very knowledged with all of my concerned questions and helped me get a reduced rate. Thank you Mary 😊

Came from Nevada to help my daughter move. I ran into a young lady at this store today and she was so helpful. She knew exactly what to say and answered all my questions. I felt kind of bad that I had her come out in the rain to show me a storage but she did it with a smile. She even made me laugh 😂 I appreciate her and her hospitality.

Love the ladies at front desk. Very friendly. I originally wrote this 2021 when it was called Keystone Storage. I haven't had any problems since ownership changed. Just don't have the interaction with staff. I miss those ladies who worked there before.

Simone is a blessing to work with! There were a couple of technology glitches as I reserved a unit (because that's how the entire world seems to work these days). But Simone found a workaround each time to ensure that none of those glitches affected me. You ever work with a company where you have to get your call transferred up three levels to someone in the corporate communications office? How the first couple of people you talk with only make things increasingly more frustrating??? It was very refreshing to work directly with Simone. Working with her is like talking directly to the VP of Public Relations, and I didn't even have to get my call transferred three times...she's right there in person, at the office. Thank you, Simone!!! If only everything else about this move could be so easy.

Updated review. I was finally able to get ahold of the regional manager Beau later in the day. He explained their were some staffing issues on his side, whereas the facility was not occupied at the time I arrived. We got everything sorted out, and all is well. I will continue to do business with public storage.

Online says they open at 8 am, so called at 8:20 am, lady answers saying it’s the emergency number, I ask a question about changing a reservation time for a unit and she responds that they don’t open until 9 am and that she’ll answer when I call back at 9 am and then hung up on me… Im not calling back and I’m changing my choice of storage facility.
