I had to rent a storage unit for the first time a couple months ago. After doing tons of research, calling different places, comparing costs, etc. I went with Public Storage in Lisle. For me, the convenience and security of knowing my belongings were secure and safe were my biggest things. I was pleasantly surprised with the property manager Dee politely and promptly reaching out. She has been fantastic in helping me understand the process and a super friendly making the process hassle free. For any first time renters or frequent renters, I thoroughly recommend reaching out to DEE and she will take great care of you!

I reserved a storage locker online, but I wasn’t quite sure that the space I rented was the right size for my needs, so I popped in to take a look in person. I was in luck as Dee, the property manager, happened to be in, and she took the time to give me a tour and show me several options. She was so friendly and helpful that I immediately felt I was in good hands. Shout out to Dee for great customer service! For people not familiar with this location, there’s really no “office space,” but there’s a kiosk where you can video chat with a live person. There’s also a phone number listed at the entry, so you can use that as well.

(October 2023): To update my previous update. After discussing my concerns, Public Storage credited me the difference that should have been reflected on my billing for the contract i signed. They have now let the person go from Managment who promised to move my monthly fee down permanatly to the origional price for the unit when i began renting it, which is only about 11 months ago now. The moment after i changed my google review, they jacked me back up and said they can’t do anything. So i am again being charged $359 per month for about a 200 square foot storage space. That is more expensive per square foot then most apartments in Lisle. Public Storage is a disaster to work with, they have no good way of handling complaints, and they are a deceitful company, promising you one price, and then jacking up your rate rihht after you move you things in. Recall, they raised my rent about 35% after only three months of renting the storage space from them. See my origional review below this paragrpah! I would give them 0 stars if I could. review update (june 2023) my previous review (April 2023)Which below in quotations: the team at public storage has reached out to me to rectify the issue. They have prvided me with a credit of appriximately $250 for the wxtra payments over the past 3-4 months, and they are worling with me to being the monthly storage fee payment back down to the cost i had previously agreed to pay when i rented the storage unit. Their team has been respectrful, and agreeable with my concern. Because of their work to rectify the issue, im currently happy with the service i’ve received from public storage lisle. And if they can manage to bring my mknthky rate down to what it was when j signed their lease i’ll continue to rent feom them. “I would never work with or use Public Storage again. I rented a nearly 10x25 sf space at the Lisle Illinois location. It cost $272 per month, and after just 3 months, they notified me of a price increase to $359.00 per month or an increase of $89 or 32%. I would never have paid a moving company to relocate my things to this public storage had I known this is how they do business!”

It was easy to book a unit online and have everything processed online. I showed up on the day, let my self in, and the unit was all ready. A lock comes with your booking but you can return it if you don't need the lock and get a refund. There is no one onsite but the manager stops by everyday for maintenance. The manager on this site, Dee, called me after I booked my unit and took the time to answer all my questions. I ran into Dee on the day when I was trying to return the lock and she was very helpful, delightful and had it taken care of for me. HUGE discount on first month. Would recommend!

Great storage space. Very easy access.

My review keeps changing with this company. The people are really pleasant, but they often have people like me complaining that they are being charged a different amount and it goes up between $50 and $75 yearly which is outrageous. I believe as a long term customer, my rate should be moderated. If, the rate is bu demand, but you have no more units, that doesn't mean the demand has increased; it means you maxed it out. Maybe you need to go to the bank and start a new location which should have indoor service and air quality. Originally, I purchased a large unit for my truck and storage. I received a good price at first of $270. After being there for years, they increased my rent by $75 which could get me a secondary unit, and I wasn't informed because my mailing address was not transferred when the mail company shut down. I never received a letter or email. Now a few months later, they are charging an additional $50. So now I was supposed to pay $400, and I was outraged that my rate is not consistent when I had a contract, I'm still not being informed, and I'm a long time customer. I figured I was just going to take my stuff somewhere else; however, when I called the location of my unit, the nice lady was able to reduce my rate to something I am happy with. I plan to stay there longer now. There are mice that can enter the units from the unit doors, but I bought a rat pack last year. Besides the company being inconsiderate and not straight forward, the customer service is really excellent when it comes to talking to the people.

The locks they provide (and over charge for) are horrible. The sliding mechanism to open door gets stuck so you sometimes can’t access your space! Also there is no one on site to assist and the other public storage nearby goes to voicemail when you call for assistance. Very frustrating to not be able to access space I pay for. Edit: issue was corrected, new management seems to take issues more seriously. I have access to my storage.

Very pleased with the customer service at this location. Had trouble accessing my storage unit late in the evening but the site manager and staff quickly assisted. Also received several follow up calls the next few days to ensure that everything is taken care of.

This place has possibly the worst staff known to man. We cancelled and closed our unit and got confirmation. For the next two weeks we got called about payment. We spoke to several people in the office and in the “big management” because we CLOSED our account. They said they’d take care of it. Well guess what? We just got a collections bill in the mail from this place. Honestly, just get a unit at a different facility down the road because these people are trash.

I just cleaned out my locker and was unsure about the checkout process online. I called the local number and Craig assured me that he would take care of the checkout process. I had an email confirmation by the end of the day. Nice job, pretty spiffy.
