ORIGINAL REVIEW 8/1/2024
I wish that this could be a better review, but unfortunately the lack of communication from this location is just horrendous. I have been trying to get in contact with them regarding my account that they have decided to upcharge the rent on TWICE, even though my rental unit has never had a late payment nor have I switched units to a larger space. I have been trying to contact them in regards to freezing my unit’s rental price and also prorating my rent for next month, as I will be moving my items out due to the ever-increasing cost that I simply cannot afford. I have left two voicemails DURING THEIR STATED BUSINESS HOURS (since I cannot go to the office; the windows and door are covered in brown paper… I suppose they are under construction of some sort) and have yet to hear anything. I am so disappointed; the unit itself is nice and I’ve never had any issues with the building outside of the fact that the elevator was out for several weeks and I had to take the stairs, which led to me not being able to get as many items as I needed during those trips. All in all, I would recommend the space but absolutely NOT the customer service (which to me is the most important part of any business) simply because it has been nonexistent when I really needed them the most. Hopefully others have a better experience.

I am very happy to report that Michael from the district level has reached out to me via phone call with both apologies and resolutions for my experience! He was able to explain the entire process to me as it relates to navigating rental of a storage unit, and answered all questions I had! He was very personable, patient, and professional, and I’m glad to report that due to him personally (and PROMPTLY!!!) reaching out to better understand my specific issues and difficulties, I will be able to continue using my storage unit during my current life transition! Thank you, Michael! I truly appreciate your support and genuine care for your client base!
Amanda was so helpful each time I can in last two days. Even though her store is under construction she was there everyday to help me. Amanda teamed up with Angel and they made sure I got the storage unit I wanted. I am thoroughly please. Public Storage Rocks!

Update: I have had this storage unit for less than a year, and this is the 2nd time my rate has increased. In total, my rate has gone up 88% in less than a year.
I have no issues with the building or the service provided (and will admit the ability to use my phone to open doors/gates is great) but I've had my storage unit for 4 months and just received a notice that my rate is going up by 50%. Had I known this, I would have picked a cheaper company/unit (and will probably end up doing so).
I have been a Customer, at this location for more than 14 yrs. There have been a number of Property Managers during this time and I must say, Amanda has been the first I have felt compelled to write a review. She is SUPER a real professional and always extremely helpful and courteous. She’s a KEEPER! THANK YOU!

The property manager is really good at his job. He explained to me my billing process and how to use my phone to open the gate. I hope the next manager is as good as job, he's a tough act to follow.
I would say ZERO stars if it was an option. Horrible place to store! Think twice before storing here. I've stored at the location for almost 4 years and finally decided to find a better facility. Elevators never work, no one watches over the gated area so someone is always blocking the doorway, the entrance gate never works and best of all no one is ever in the office when you need them.

Exceptional Storage Facility Experience! I can't say enough good things about my experience with Public Storage South Loop! From the moment I booked online, the process was a breeze. The website was user-friendly and intuitive, making it easy to select the perfect storage unit for my needs. I had to make a couple of calls to answer a few questions specific to my unique situation. Bianca and Amanda were patient and super helpful in answering my questions (and trust me, there were many).
Upon arrival Richere and Amanda were terrific in providing assistance guiding me through the check-in process seamlessly and answering my many questions. The facility itself is clean, well-maintained, and feels very secure, giving me peace of mind knowing my belongings are in good hands.
What truly sets this place apart is the exceptional customer service. The staff went above and beyond to answer all my questions and ensure I had everything I needed. They were courteous, professional, and genuinely seemed to care about my experience.

I have used this public storage for many many years, so much so that I probably could have repurchased everything that I store in the storage units over again at least 3 times by now. Though many of the staff members have been very nice over the years, I cannot say enough about the kindness and dedication of the current manager, Amanda. I swear that woman NEVER has a day off and is ALWAYS so incredibly kind, diligent, caring and professional. This facility is usually VERY clean, well lit and it's climate controlled all of which are of the utmost importance. Though my family has finally been able to downsize from having 3 large storage lockers simultaneously to having only 1( the monthly price increases have been a bit extreme), I will always choose this location over any other storage options because of Amanda. Thank You Amanda for ALL that you do !!!

Amanda helped me a lot with my request to transfer from one unit to another. The door size was different between my new unit and old unit, and she was super patient in helping me find the one that fits my need.

I rented an 8x 10 space for $95 a month, as was advertised to me. I measured the space today and not only was it under 7x 10, it has a large structural pole inside. None of this was disclosed to me, verbally or in my contract.
I went to the front desk to see if there was a mistake and was told I got the discount because of the pole and if I wanted an actual 8x 10 I would be charged $129/mo.
False Advertising, Bait and Switch, Bad Customer Service. Dirty Units and Floors. Choose elsewhere on the same street.
We had to make a quick move out of our current storage unit (different company) due to a drastic price increase. We visited this location and asked to see two units. Amanda not only showed up a couple of units, but she answered all of the questions we had. We immediately secured a unit that met our needs and Amanda was super helpful and patient while we navigated the app and setting up our account online. Great customer service and we are super happy with the unit and location of this storage space (working moving carts, multiple elevators). Long time customer of this facility and the new rules about access hours are absurd and inconvenient. I will be moving my items out of this storage facility as soon as I get around to it.
Out of control weekend staff who's always out to lunch. This is the 3rd time on a Saturday or Sunday where he has these fictitious return times posted to the door. Today, there's a whole line of people waiting for service. Back on Monday 45 minutes before closing, same story.

I have a storage with them and i pay them on time. all of a sudden they increase my rent by more than 30%. When i asked why, their answers was they have the right to do so and there's nothing no one can do about it. They allegedly notified the people via a post card instead of a formal letter or email. That's outrageous

The unit is very dirty and dusty, they lock the doors at 5/6 so you can’t access your things. Rent started at $60/mo and 12 mo later it’s $115/mo (same unit).
Update: Following this review, customer service has been very kind and they have readjusted our monthly rate

I have been pleased with service there, to date. However, today I went to visit our unit, needed a cart and could not find one. My husband and I happened to run into a Public Storage employee while looking for a cart - when we asked her to help us locate a cart, she said the carts were locked up, that the property was closed, there was no property manager onsite and that we'd need to come back another day. When we asked her when the property would reopen, she said she had no idea. Very disappointing.
