I've had storage here for years at a time, starting in 1995, when it was Annie's Attic. It has always been a safe, secure facility. I find the location convenient, and I found Greg to be efficient, professional, personable and very helpful.

I rented a storage unit, but on the very same day I paid, I witnessed an ongoing theft on the premises. Shortly after, another customer was frantically looking for staff because their items had been stolen as well. Despite this happening around 3:00 PM, there was no staff present at the front desk. Seeing these severe safety issues and lack of management, I decided to cancel my subscription that same day. I contacted customer service and successfully completed the cancellation.
However, when I checked my credit card statement at the end of the month, the refund had not been processed. I have reached out to customer service multiple times and physically visited the local office repeatedly to check on the refund status. The local staff kept withholding my funds, claiming "system issues" as an excuse. It has now been two months, and I still have not received my refund. I have completely lost trust in this company.
Kayla has been an excellent Property Manager at storage facility #8083 on q9th Avenue.
She has always been professional and friendly, kept the building lobby clean, and processes my rent payments immediately.
I was informed today that she will not be at this site much today, so I hope the company knows how much of an asset she is.
The manager on duty was pleasant and very helpful.
Been there for years because I need the convenience of location. But the service is scanty. Hard to find anyone when you need help. Gate to parking lot where I access my unit often breaks down. Hard to find someone behind the desk even during supposed open hours. Telephone gets an endless loop of AI, even when it transfers you supposedly to a human. And when major events occur, such as a shutdown of the security system locking you out of your unit, no one to respond or help. I’m losing business because I can’t access my inventory and satisfy orders, and no one at IStorage responds.

This istorage is completely a scam. They fraudulently said first month free but took my $29 administration fees. Few days ago my friends also suggested me this storage,when I signed up and paid for it, it was showing the renting process is quick and easy with no hassle. I signed up pretty quickly and easy,thinking maybe this storage is legit and easy for my college material storage use. It worked for a few days, after 4 days later, manager Kayla forcefully locked my access to the storage. I tried calling and waiting outside of the office, nobody was willing to help. I left a message and voicemail for them to call back. After they called me back, Kayla fraudulently asking my ID saying they wanted to verify my identity. I had provided them my phone number and my account information at the time of my rental and in my contract. Also at that time my account was active and I have no overdue balance at all. I asked her why she wanted my ID and locked me out without informing me and reasonable explanation. she didn’t know exactly how to respond to that and didn’t have a reasonable explanation for that at all. I am thinking they must have been using these fake excuses to scam people and take the money from them and then lock them out,forcing them to pay more money and kick them out. This storage is definitely a scam.At first they’re saying their price is low and affordable, but after a while, they start charging extra money from you and they will throw your stuff out and lock you out. This is completely a scam. DO NOT rent from them if you want any personal space and drama-free space.
Avoid this place!! Not only did rates increases basically every month, but the gate was permanently rusted open the last month, some of the cameras seemed to have been painted over, and no one was ever in their office to help. On 2 separate occasions I waited in their office which was left unlocked, called the corporate number, only to realize their office was closed and shouldn’t have been unlocked.
Today is the week before college students need to move out of SFSU and this is the closest location.
It's hours listed ON THIER BUILDING, yelp, google, and website state there would be someone in office today. There were 4 families outside trying to move their stuff in with no staff in sight.
Thankfully, the door is WIDE OPEN when we arrive. We allow ourselves in with the other families (having no clue if they should be allowed to be there) and made our way to the unit and SOMEONES LOOSE SOILED ITEMS are in there. Another person literally had crack pipes in his unit.
This business is a scam. There is no one to get a hold of, there is no emergency number, there is NO security, and no sense to be found.
I would like for someone to get a hold of me by 5/18 via yelp messaging and give me and my mother and sister an apology. I will also be calling the health department because there was clear rodent and human soilage. You are enemy number 1 to me iStorage!!
Keila, the site manager at San Francisco, is the reason why iStorage standouts vs other storages. She will welcome you with an honest smile and will do above and beyond to get what you need, and help you. The place is well maintained and secure. Inside storage units are great. Climate controlled units are ideal for wines.
All questions answered with clarity, it was a very nice and effective costumer service.
All my items were stolen, there is no security, gate was wide open at all times for anyone to come in, I had thousands of dollars of valuables taken, and they didnt notify me until days later, “By the way, we noticed the other day theres no longer a lock on your unit.” 😡😡
This was entirely because of their neglect! They didn’t tell me until after my things were stolen that there is no property manager at this location, they just send someone to check on it once a week!!

Avoid. Got a unit online and was sent a code. The code worked on the outer door but not the inner door. Called support, they couldn’t help, tried to contact the property manager in the middle of office hours (they weren’t there) and couldn’t contact them. Tried calling for four more business days, each day they could never reach the property manager. On the last day, called support to tell them I give up and just want a refund. They said no, it has been 72 hours and you can’t cancel after that. So did a stop payment on my card. Either a scam or shockingly incompetent management. Either way, avoid if you want to prevent a bunch of wasted time.
Of note also, I never had access the unit so not sure what they meant by this exactly, but learned on the phone call that “units that end in -T require a ladder to access” from their support people, which wasn’t ever said explicitly while I was buying. They did have a marker that said it was not on the first floor, but nothing about needing a ladder to access it. I don’t know how that works exactly but sounds unpleasant, so watch out for that too.
I called to inquire about a storage unit and was encouraged over the phone to book sight unseen. I was hesitant, but was told it would be easy to cancel if it wasn’t a fit.
It ended up not being a fit, and I cancelled the same day. The cancellation process was not easy at all. Since then, I’ve continued to receive billing messages via text and email.
It has now been a couple of months, and despite multiple attempts to contact customer service, I have not received a response.
This experience felt disorganized and frustrating. I would not recommend booking without seeing the unit in person.
Stay away from this facility, never anyone in the office or onsite, People living in their units constant break ins, corporate office very unhelpful and dismissive DO NOT RENT A UNIT HERE
Warning: after 3 months of rent on a new unit, it increases by 25% which is insane because the roof leaks in the main building area on the left side where the roll-up door is, and a lot of units have damaged property. There's videos of it and other reviews. They're using rental increases to not repair the building! Insurance that make you pay $10 a month for does not cover the water damage. My unit is okay it's not a ground floor unit and not directly under the leak but who knows what happens the next time it rains. I'm definitely going to be moving.
The unit we rented was not insulated which led to large moisture droplets collecting on the ceiling and almost all of our memories, photos, furniture and clothes being ruined by mold.
I DO NOT recommend storing ANYTHING at this site
