I recently leased a storage unit at the Sherman St., San Diego location. The young woman who help me get set up was fantastic. in addition to being very pleasant, she took a lot of time to explain everything, including the Public Storage app, how the insurance program works and how to get in and out of the facility .
As things worked out I ended up not using the storage facility. But yet again this manager facilitated the closing out of the rental with excellence.
if I have any storage again, I will be sure to patronize this facility

We went here on a Wednesday a clean facility with a great atmosphere. There staff member June was supportive with all my concerns and questions. She was extremely helpful and professional throughout the entire process. Energetic with a smile. The experience was absolutely amazing!
This was the easiest move in and move out I have experienced. Joe was extremely resourceful and courteous upon my move out. The facility was clean and updated with easy entrance and exit.
Unit was broken into and robbed clean and empty, facility called to tell me lock was broken but they’ve provided no help otherwise. A security disaster here, I’d recommend looking elsewhere because nothing about this experience has been safe for my belongings that are now all gone. They don’t have cameras that work and provided no help to police.
Heather is always such a huge help - both over the phone and in person. She helped help me move from one unit to another seemlessly. She has been great to work with!

Morena storage is clean and organized. Sarah was extremely helpful and accommodating with my move in.
Needed a storage unit for a month. The renting process was simple and they were very accommodating when I needed to change sizes after I had already booked. The facility is clean and easy to access with a locked keypad. Only con is that some elevators were not working so when moving in/out it was a far walk with all your belongings.
I recently needed to rent a storage place, my first time ever. So happy Public Storage on Sherman St was available. It’s very clean. The 2nd floor where my storage unit was located had good energy. I felt comfortable temporarily storing my belongs there. The staff was always very friendly and helpful. I always found a flat dolly to move my items from the storage unit to my car. The restroom was always clean. I’m thankful Public Storage takes pride in offering a clean place to store items. I highly recommend using the Sherman St location.

Terrible people. They live there and steal from the customers at night. Dogs running wild all the time. Than they think they own the block. Don't risk it too many other storage facilities available to that that chance.
Visited Public Storage on Sherman Street today. Joe at the front was very very helpful very professional, kind, genuine, authentic, and a great employee. He would be wonderful anywhere. I recommend anyone to come to the storage and specifically asked for his help with your services needed.
Also to corporate, I definitely think that Joe deserves a raise for his expertise and excellent customer service. He should be managing all of the stores and bumped up to possibly working under CEO.

Joe was extremely helpful and well spoken and helped me locate the perfect unit for the best price. I highly recommend speaking to this man for any, and all storage needs.
They will pro-rate your first month for move-in but will not pro-rate your last month for move-out! I did everything I could to move out before the 1st, but could not get the vehicle until the morning of the 2nd. They would not work with me and still charged the full month amount of $253. Then they ended my lease on the 2nd anyway! I had to call back to make sure my lease stayed active and my parking spot open for my use until the end of the month! Why would I work with them and let them double rent my space if they won't work with me?!?! Be careful, these guys are shady and borderline unethical.
Also, read the 5 star reviews carefully and be aware of potential fakes to skew the rating average in their favor.

I would recommend renting a space with a different company. Public Storage has increased my price multiple times over the past 8 months to the point where I am now paying more than 2x my original rate.
This might be acceptable had they given me any notification of these price changes. Look online and you will see similar stories of price gouging. This company sucks.

EXTREMELY EXPENSIVE and they continually raise prices once you have your stuff stored. Rent almost doubled in <2 years!!! ($314 July 2021, would have been $612 July 2023!) Eagerly moved out!
After this review was posted, the manager offered to delay my most recent rent increase by 3 months.

Of the many, many storage facilities(of various brands/companies) I have used (In many, many states); this one specific Public Storage facility, in particular, is definitely the best I have ever used. Clean facilities, good safety record, helpful employees and the manager (Heather) is literally the best in the business hands-down.

I only spent a short time storing my stuff at this facility, but it was very clean. In addition, all of the staff I interacted with, especially Alicia, were incredibly friendly and efficient. I highly recommend.
Had arranged move out date a month in advance, spoke to staff regarding details of move, (day & time) showed up to meet movers, at 5:15 and was informed by staff in office that all elevators stop working at 6. Turned out to be incredibly stressful situation. They ended up allowing us to use the stairs, but that took a lot of convincing. I'm sure had I read everything online I would have realized on my own.
THIS COMPANY IS A SCAM!!!! DO NOT RENT YOUR STORAGE UNIT HERE.. THEY INCREASED MY RATE BY 40% WITHOUT ANY NOTICE WITHIN 6 MONTHS OF RENTAL AND AFTER A CALL WITH THEIR MAIN OFFICE THEY SAID IT'S THEIR POLICY AND THERE IS NOTHING THEY CAN DO!! DO NOT RENT HERE. THEY SAID THEY CAN INCREASE AT ANY TIME AND TO ANY RATE THEY WOULD LIKE. DO NOT RENT IT HERE
This place left an elderly man trapped inside the gate for over two hour last night. I was letting him use my phone. Where management hung up on us twice. Than come to find out the on sight live in manager she was there the entire time watching doing nothing. Don't rent from this place this could happen to you. She laughed at us walking away from window. Corp. Finally got gate open. Shame on you lady. Fire her immediately!!!! Go to Storage Etc right next door they have fantastic people working there. Tell them Merle sent you.

Amazing stacks of whatever you don’t wish to view in your periphery!! Piled to the ceiling!! This yard is one of the cleanest storage bundles in town and the gates work via phone app, so nice one there. The price though—up over 50 percent since 2019?! Is the clean restroom worth that much?

Honestly my only complaint is the hours!
M-F 9:30am - 6pm amd Weekends 9:30am - 5pm.
For those of us who work 9 to 5, these access hours just don't work out. In my opinion, we should be able to access our stuff whenever we like. However, I do think these access hours should be adjusted and more accommodating. For the convenience of its customers perhaps a 7am to 7pm access, or 8am to 8pm.

I have three units and I am there often and every single time, he is amazing! They need to keep him happy there because he is a five star employee!

I needed a storage unit in a hurry and found one here in ground level. Easy access. I was stoked until I came to bring the last load at 6pm and the place was locked down. SOB I didn't even check the hours, this place closees at 5:00pm on weekends and 6pm on weekdays. AND THEY DONT OPEN UNTIL 930am! Very inconvenient hours, very upset I didn't catch this beforehand. If the hours don't bother you they also offer keyless entry via mobile app to open the entry gate. Carts to check out but they ask for your driver's license which is a good idea but I had to wait 45 minutes for the office staff to return from breaks. And yes, insurance must be purchased for your rental space. A lock cylinder is included so no need to bring a lock.
Came to this public storage… No one is working and the doorbell doesn’t work. The elevator to the other units doesn’t work even after you put in your code. We paid for a lock (which is a requirement) and can’t pick it up from an empty office during working hours. Our storage unit was zip tied shut, and now we have no access to the paid for storage unit. Hopefully you have no problems ever because you won’t get any help here. They use technology (their app and website) as a cop-out to avoid customer service.

Clean, secure facility. Jerome is the man. He helped me on two separate occasions, and definitely made my decision easier. I accidentally rented the wrong size room, and thought it was going to be a nightmare to reverse the charges and find another, but Jerome made it happen with no headache at all.

I just transferred from Washington state and I was told that I’m not gonna be able to get a house in time. I called up Public Storage and they said they had one available opening and they would like to show me before I pay for it over the phone. Heather the worker there walked me to my unit showed me how to open every single door on the property and told me everything I needed to know. Best service I’ve had from the storage unit across to eight different states! Great pricing and amazing customer service!
