The History of Diamond Bar

The area where Diamond Bar now sits was originally part of Rancho Los Nogales. The ranch changed hands several times before Frederich E. Lewis took ownership in 1918. He named it Diamond Bar Ranch, after the branding iron he created featuring a diamond over a bar. The Transamerica Corporation assumed ownership of the ranch in 1956 and set about transforming it into a master-planned community. Its first homes were constructed in 1960, kick-starting a development boom that continues today. Diamond Bar was officially incorporated in 1989 and has continued to grow ever since.
