I’ve been trying to cancel my storage unit here for 2 months and every time I go in person, the door is locked?! noon on a Wednesday?! Then I call, 5x in a day, no answer?! Leave a voicemail?! NO! I just want to cancel my unit………

My unit was one of those which got a break-in last week and it seems like they’re not taking this matter urgently. Unfortunately, the leasing department only provided a little help. Didn’t even get an explanation on how the break-in happened when they got all security cameras around the property. Then tried to call them several times and nobody answered the phone during business hours and day. Very disappointing especially when you are clueless about which among your belongings in the storage were taken.
I’m really impressed with this Public Storage location. It’s clean, easy to enter, and there are carts available to help bring your things up. The lock was easy to use, too.
I was especially grateful to run into Dominique when I arrived. She was friendly and helpful, and showed me how to find my unit and use the gate. I was also pleasantly surprised by how much I could fit in my 5×5 unit. Great experience so far!

Elevator is always broken, property manager can never be reached when they frequently close the one stairway then that provides access to your storage unit making it impossible to access your things. Also they increased our rent after the first two months by over 30%. Do NOT rent from them.

I really enjoy using the Public Storage located at 6676 Mission street in Daly city , especially when Scott is working, HE is extremely helpful and is always on his job he cleans each floor the elevator and the restroom. I had a great experience at Public Storage on Mission Street, Daly City. The facility was clean, secure, and easy to access. I was having a horrible time getting in touch with the manager on several occasions and could not get any of my issues resolved. However, they recently hired a new person (Scott), and on day 1, he immediately addressed my concerns. Great customer service and friendly. I was looking for another storage, and he appeared and changed my mind. He is heaven-sent for this location.
There are never carts to use! They only have 2 carts for the whole building. Also smells weird in basement level. Very old, nothing has been updated.

Elevators out off and on but consistently out since April 2025. Great location, but tight access squeeze in corner stairway. Better have good knees and back and ample help if you choose to rent here. (DEC 2025)
The service was really quick and easy. Scott made the process so much easier and helpful when he allowed me to view the storage unit when requested!
The day after I moved in, Scott emailed and called me to let me know he had just finished making his rounds and noticed by lock was not set correctly (my bad!) I so appreciated the notification. He offered to assist me if needed. I fixed it quickly and thanked Scott for being so alert.

Wow, what happened to this place? Reviews from over a year ago are great but definitely not in the past year. And definitely not from my experience.
First, why is the parking lot always full? It's always the same cars but I don't believe vehicle storage is offered at this location. Management must but taking payment for them.
Second is access. My unit was on the ground floor, and the main lobby/entrance is on the 3rd floor. The elevator worked on move-in day but never since. In the meantime we had to use the emergency exit on our floor for access. The alarm was busted so no worries there. So every time I visited I had to park on the ground floor, walk around the building and up to the main entry, then take the stairs back down to my unit and load items into my car through the emergency exit. But then the locking mechanism on the emergency exit door broke. I would've reported this to the onsite employee but there was nobody there that day.
The door was "fixed" relatively quickly. However, instead of repairing the locking mechanism, they sealed the door shut. Good for security, but not so good for exiting in an emergency. I'm guessing this is against fire safety regulations. But what does the company do about access? They tell customers to use the other emergency exit, which is now degrading as well. First the metal cover on the floor beneath the door broke and is no longer there. I'm not sure what's gonna break next but this door probably won't last long with all the traffic.
And lastly is pricing. They increased it about 150% over the course of a a year. I started at ~$100, and the most recent increase put me at ~$250. This is probably pretty typical but still annoying.
I started renting in January 2025 at $319. By April it jumped to $462, and if I had stayed, they were planning to raise it again to $583. There’s almost never anyone in the office, flat carts are rarely available, and now the entire parking lot is packed—only two usable spots left, with the rest taken up by cars, trucks, and even boats. The quality of this place has really declined over the past year.

Update: Since this posting my locker was robbed. Shocker. Luckily the single camera in the area had full view of the locker door but Public Storage management isn’t cooperating with the investigation or communicating. I steered several people away from storing their possessions here and will continue to do so.
The worst public storage in the Bay Area. Elevator has been broken for A YEAR (I got word from someone at another facility that they do not intend on repairing it).
Recently they started renting out parking spaces to cars, boats, trailers etc, leaving no spaces for paying customers to park their car. Absolutely mismanaged. I suggest going to a private owned storage facility
I was stuck in storage for about 2 hours behind the gate because no power. I guess the whole place lost power and there's no backup generator. The elevators don't work and they're not going to work. All in all this place sucks

The elevator was broken every time I tried going in the last few months and this happened last year too. I ended up carrying several loads of boxes up the stairs and will need to hire movers for the heavier furniture.
I was told there is no site manager to speak to, only a few different part time people covering for the job. The parking lot is full of covered boats and cars with boots that are taking valuable room and making it harder to walk around, not sure what that's about.
Silver lining is the person working there last time I was there was good at helping me close the account and request a month's refund due to the elevator situation. Not sure if I'll get it though.
The elevator has been out of service for many, many months which makes getting stuff in and out of lockers really difficult. All the while they raise the rent, definitely recommend going elsewhere
I got a unit here a couple weeks ago. Elevator has been out ever since with no signs of it getting fixed. Navigating down to the units is a nightmare. On top of that it seems that there is always some technological glitch in the office keeping things from working. Management looks like they can't be bothered to fix either of these issues. I won't be keeping my unit here very long
Do not rent here - the elevator is out and apparently has been for a year. I showed up with loads of heavy furniture with only a narrow staircase available to access my unit. They also refused to refund my rent for the month I had paid ahead.

**long review warning**
I have utilized this company’s services in Los Angeles, Denver, and San Francisco, and, unfortunately, the service at this particular location has been disappointing. Regrettably, it has reached a point where further complaints seem futile.
Here is a summary of my experience:
I specifically chose this location because it is open on holidays. However, on both Thanksgiving Day and New Year's Day, I was unable to open the gate. Additionally, the office was closed on these holidays, meaning there was no way to speak with a live representative. The contact numbers listed on their website and Google are automated systems, which did not provide any resolution.
I filed a complaint with customer service, and I was informed that the store manager would follow up, but I never received any communication regarding my concerns.
Most recently, on February 2nd, 5 p.m,
Iencountered another issue. An employee, who appeared to be Asian male in his late 30s to 40s and was wearing glasses, failed to inform me of the closing time and attempted to leave.
When I requested assistance with the gate, he just told me "the office close at 5pm" "I am leaving" and "You need to watch the time".
While I acknowledge that missing the closing time ONLY 3mins was my responsibility, I found his tone to be unnecessarily dismissive and unprofessional. There was no need for him to be curt or unkind in his response.
To the store manager:
I strongly encourage you to remind your staff that while friendly service is always appreciated, it is essential to maintain a professional boundary with customers. Clients are not your friends or family, and treating them with respect and courtesy is paramount.

I opened a new storage contract here. Elise was great and I appreciate how she was able to guide me through selecting a unit and the set up process.
The staff on duty her name is Elise is a very good marketing person. I was able to sign the application/contract immediately. She was very knowledgeable about her job and all my questions were answered to my satisfaction. She was able to find me good deals which was very timely. She was courteous and very focus on how to show me the location of my unit. I am happy and comfortable renting the unit to keep my personal belongings.
No elevator for more than a month.We are paying expensive and there is no elavator to move in heavy stuff .Are you guys planning to fix it??? You should fix the elevator we are paying expensive rent..!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I signed up online for a storage and was not notified that the elevator at the site was broken. I learned when I arrived with my stuff that the elevator has been broken for 2+ months with no ETA on when it would be fixed.
A month ago I went with my mom to look for a place to rent and we were attended by an excellent woman her name is Elise 👌 if you are interested in renting a place, ask for Elise very kind and respectful she gave us time and helped us with some heavy stuff (Strong Woman)! , thanks for helping us, Elise. u are the best

I am giving it one star due to it not allowing me to rate it less. The staff here is so unprofessional. I just called to ask why there was an increase in my rent without notice, and the receptionist yelled at me, saying they would make the increase for later, sent a notice, and hung up the phone on me without letting me speak. Continuously yelling through the phone, I could not even speak.
This location is the worst setup I have ever experienced before in my entire life. First of all the lady Elise is very, very rude and does not have any customer service skills. The building is inconvenient to renters that use a U-Haul truck due to the low hanging drive thru that is not high enough for a truck to pass under so you end up parking outside (where there is no space at all) and hauling all your items into the building. Mind you I had a truck full of my belongings. No drive up storage units available. Also they close at 6pm. So if you need to access your property after the office closes @6pm, you are not allowed to enter the gate. The office doesn't open until 9am so the dolly/carts are unavailable for use. Huge inconvenience for a mover with heavy items. I will never use this location again and I don't recommend it to anyone in the future. I just called to pay my balance and was told by Elise that THEY DONT TAKE PAYMENT OVER THE PHONE. (what king of business is this?). She also stated that I can pay thru the automated teller but they charge $20 extra. LMAO. I will never again.
Dropped my daughters apartment furniture off when the pandemic began. Clean facility. Not much help when we were trying to find a disposal company that could come pick up much of the material we didnt want to bring home 500 miles away. Very expensive but safe
It doesn’t make any sense to have storage places close so early! I understand staff but to make storage un accessible at 5pm on weekends is crazy. That’s when people typically are moving!
Great location for me. Only 10 minutes from home. It's very secure. I like it that they don't allow access between 6 PM and 6 AM. I would give it 5 stars, but it's a little too costly for that.
The staff is rarely available or on premise. The staff rarely answers the phone or calls back. One of the members is rude and easily gets excited.
This Daly City location is very convenient if you don't have a car; public transportation is near. I have been renting here for 10 years and have found management is reliable and friendly. Ms Elise, the current manager is very nice, knowledable and customer oriented. Recently she helped me to size my unit and facilitated my move to a smaller one with her expertise and advice. She also explained to me the changes of my move and how I would save money. I recomend anyone needing a space to give Public Store a try.
Definitely haven’t had a good experience coming here to make my payments. Black lady did not even want to give me her name but does take my money and says ok leave now instead of helping me. I was asking for detailed on fees and says she cannot do anything, I ask her if she can help me with resetting and says talk to customer service now leave. The fact that she kept saying leave and that I’m just arguing with her is frustrating. I just needed to make a payment and get help but she was definitely very rude and it is not the first time.
I love this Public Storage branch. ELISE the customer service staff was accommodating. She answers all my questions, hospitable and patient. She pick me a good rate and good unit. I love to rate 5/5 for her! Thank you so much Elise! I hope you will have more customers to come.
Facility is not accessible with a trailer /tall truck and smells like rats/mice. Main office was closed on a Thursday arrival
I received a call from Elise saying someone broke in my storage.
She was very help full and made my transition to another storage space. I will tell my friends about this storage place if they need a storage. Elise is a excellent manager. Thank you for your help Elise.
Beware of this location! It has a low overhang that does not have enough clearance for some large U-Haul style trucks.
When I called to ask about the clearance, I was promptly yelled at and was told that it’s “easy” and that they did not understand why I was asking my question. Then they proceeded to tell me to just park my car to grab my things. When I wanted to clarify my question, I was interrupted because I was “lecturing“ them and that they worked there for 13 years… and then they proceeded to imply that I was racist because they had an accent.
I can’t wait to get my things and never support this cesspool again…
They close at five. Who does that? Also their carts hardly fit in the elevator. Imagine trying to move a whole stack of heavy boxes and your cart cannot fit in the
Elise was helpful with walking through the first phase of renting a storage unit. She went out her way trying to find me the best deal for my unit size.

I left the lock to my unit unlocked when I left the facility. Ellisse removed my unlocked lock. Put on a temporary lock. Then called me to tell me what I had done. Incredible service!!!
I went back to the facility. Ellisse removed the temporary lock and replaced it with mine.
