The location and area is nice and clean, however I wouldn’t recommend anyone who’s in the military to store with them since their closing hours are 6pm. My husband and I’s whole life was in one large storage unit there while he was on deployment and I had went to the east coast to stay with family.
Once my husband came back from deployment and wasn’t aware of the facility hours, he spent the first night there until 9pm. He got told by the site manager he couldn’t do that so he tried to be mindful to leave on time. For the next few weeks he would get off his ship and head over there to grab a few items he needed and sometimes couldn’t leave right on time. Most of the time he would leave right at 6pm but the gate was already locked, so we always had to call customer service and have to wait on hold with for a half hour for them to unlock the gate to the facility. I understand that my husband could’ve used better time management, but he is adjusting to being on shore and we do not have housing yet.
I received a less than respectful call on the 23rd from the district manager threatening me to get out of the unit by the first of the month. I apologized and explained my husband is active duty military and he was just rude, condescending, and unwilling to be sympathetic. He also threatened if my husband was there one more time past 6pm he was going to call the police on him.
We moved over to Extra Space Storage. Save yourself the headache and get a storage unit somewhere else.
Lavi was super helpful, informative, very nice, and spent a lot of time answering my questions and showing me the facility.
It was easy and fast... just my style Raul was very knowledgeable and helpful. Thank you for the great experience.

I came into this public storage location on Main St in SD on a Sunday morning looking for a miracle. Rachel was my lifesaver on this Sunday morning, she was the definition of going the extra mile, going above and beyond, making a difference in a stranger's life. I had recently rented a unit in Long Beach using the online e-rental method because I am not near Long Beach and my brother was going to get my items into storage for me. It became a big problem because the unit was wrongfully described online and therefore it was too small, I called LB public storage to try and upgrade to a larger unit. The person who stated was the manager on site on Saturday May 21st was very not willing to help me out unless I made the trip out there. I am a healthcare worker having gotten off my last 12 hour shift (4 in a row) and now I had to make a long commute to LB to fix this situation simply because LB public storage was not willing to work with me virtually. I thought I'd give it a last try and walked into the public storage on Main st in San Diego and Rachel was my angel that exhausted Sunday morning. Rachel called LB and worked with them, although still a little short, but she saved me a trip out there. I am forever grateful for people like Rachel that make a difference in peoples lives. Thank you!!

Downsized from a 10x20 to a 5x9 since I have a one car garage at my apartment. Not quite enough storage space to fit my motorcycle and car in one spot. I can't say enough about Raul at this location. He really went above and beyond to find a smaller unit sized to fit my needs. I've been there over a year. Any outdoor storage parking with vehicles runs the risk of being vandalized. It happens at every place I've been to with outdoor parking. If you want less risk of property damage you should try and find indoor parking if possible.

My RV was vandalized, $800+ worth of damage, and no help/no accountability from Raul, the location manager or Robert, the regional manager for Public Storage.
Yes, I know things happen and damage occurs, but...
...given the circumstances, you would still expect these individuals to behave like decent human beings, but that's not what I got, in my opinion. When I left my RV the last time, before it was vandalized, I asked for some extra time beyond closing time (5PM) to secure my RV and put things in order, but Raul refused any flexibility. He went as far as to give me some reasons that were bald-faced lies about PS's policies, and these were corroborated to be lies by PS's own customer service when I later called to verify what I was being told by Raul. And when I called Robert to complain about Raul's treatment, Robert does not even have the decency to call a customer back.
Two weeks after this, the RV gets vandalized. When Raul calls, you would expect some decency, some acknowledgment, a "we're sorry this happened"... Instead, you get this flippant individual who shows no remorse that this happened under his watch, offers no help or support to even get at the issue. He just washes his hands off the subject and tells you to call the Chula Vista Police and whatever, there's absolutely nothing they can or will do.
I filed a case with the Chula Vista Police, case# 211609, it's all there. Would I recommend this Public Storage? Not in a million years.
